[Music] yesterday I went back to reading this book how to by Michael beut great designer and a partner in pentagram and I read a story which really in a way made me happy so I I really want to share it with you so what happened was Michael Barrett as a partner in pentagram got a chance to work with New World Symphony a great organization you know really big with uh lots of money I guess they're building a new building with Frank Gary and they um let them design the logo and he did the first uh concept he kind of presented them with an idea that he thought was really great idea he really loved it and they said no we don't like it so he was really bummed about it and then went and did another idea which he thought was really good and they told him no we don't like it either and then the client actually sent him a sketch like six sketch catches of ideas and told him this is what I think the logo should look like and he got really upset and offended he was like I don't tell you how to conduct music are you going to tell me how to design and he was very pissed obviously like any other any any of us would be as designers uh but eventually he looked at it and he kind of changed his mindset into thinking I'm so lucky that my client took time and effort to try to help me solve my problem and he actually saw what the client meant and kind of the idea that had so he took this idea and kind of refined it and very quickly got to the final uh logo that the client really really loved so what I love about this story is how even the big shots the people that you really admire the people who have like the best status with the best clients and make the most money still struggle just like me and you know they do they do work that they're in love with but the client don't like and they have clients kind of piss them off by by suggesting design ideas um it really it really resonated with me because you know when I was a young designer I always had this this dream or idea that when I will be a great designer a famous designer whatever then the clients won't argue with me and my life will be perfect and everything will be nice but no that's not not how the world works you know even for Michael beo he still struggles it's still painful his ideas are still not good the first time around and he gets rejected by clients and that's just like it it kind of told me it's okay it's okay it's not that you're a bad designer on that's just how the world is so I was really it was really comforting in a way to read this so I wanted to share this with you really great story I think and and the result is great so that's that's cool anyway this morning has been super super productive it's now 11:30 and I've already had my deep uh work session for the morning I've completed everything that I needed to do by 12:00 so this new deep work schedule that I've created yesterday is really proving super super productive so I have time to take a walk and buy some stuff that I need prepare my own lunch cuz I don't have a lunch to e today this little click that you just heard was this new light that I just bought and installed yesterday just burning away I didn't even know that floresent FL can do that uh that sucks I'll try to get one now when I'm out on my [Music] [Music] walk I like loose bu and loose bu and loose when you want to deal bu and loose watch you feel talking about bus and loose girl busting loose when you want to deal [Music] bu so turns out the bulb exploded because the US has like 110 VA and Israel is 220 so that's why it's exploded this should be right [Music] so it is 3:00 and I'm done with everything that I wanted to do uh for today kind of the deep sessions this new um structure of the calendar that I did yesterday works perfectly I got a lot done fixes on the Vlog QA a new version of proso designed the new version of Prosper I'll share more about that tomorrow and now it's time for my learning time so I'll be reading a book for a little bit and then picking up Tommy from uh the kindergarten but here's one more thing that happened today that I wanted to share with you um if you remember last week I kind of I went with a developer to open the rening agency with kind of an idea for a new collaboration basically my idea was to kind of open up kind of a lab or a startup Department within the agency that me and I will execute on their ideas and kind of will get salaries but also get a share of the company of the startups that we create and that kind of idea failed today uh completely a kind of became unavailable for it and also they kind of changed a little bit how they view it and what what they want from this partnership um so you know it's it was a good try it was a good effort to try and create a better situation for myself and I'm not sad that it failed but it was really worth the try and you know it got me a bit closer or it gave me a shot of improving my situation and that was cool and those guys at open still want to think about something to do together so it might end up happening sometime in the future so another failure but a cool one anyway hope you guys have a great day I'll catch you tomorrow I feel
