I Don't Know What Works

so it is Thursday it's the end of the week actually end of a very short week two days to work all the rest was kind of holiday and working for my client today but I'll try to catch a lunch break without so we can discuss some new school stuff yes sir uploaded a video called who are you and it turns out you guys have loved it and some people left really emotional comments and it was it was really inspiring for me and I'm so glad that you took part and who you are I love to know who you are but here's the thing I almost didn't upload this video because i thought to myself it's got nothing to do with design or my work or one of the other stuff I'm talking about and I do not want to make this channel political in any way so i thought this will probably not work and i shouldn't do that but in the end i did it and turns out you've liked it and it just proves the point that i have no clue what works and it's true for this youtube channel but it's also true for my design work and I don't know business ideas and in life in general sometimes we have the feeling that at least me personally I know this is not in a war or this will work for sure in most times I'm just completely wrong about it this one time when I when I worked at a startup that the CEO had an idea to do kind of a competition everybody not only the designer every employee in the company is going to design the email to prompt people to download the app and will kind of measure them and see who's got the highest conversions and I was sure I'm going to win because I'm a designer and I know how to make great looking and email it right copyright and all of that stuff but the email that one and one by big difference I wasn't even close second was so ugly with a huge button in it was just I thought it was horrible but it worked much better than mine and I think this is a great opportunity to learn and to understand that sometimes our gut feeling is just not correct and we just have to try a lot of things even think that we think or we are pretty sure that they're not going to work we still have to try them because one of those things might work much better than what you're currently do so I'm trying to take this as a reminder and I'm also trying to do you know many things like many opportunities work with a lot of different clients try many different ideas business ideas at the new school in type of videos for this channel because i'm not i don't really know it's gonna take off and really work that's i just wanted to share this with you don't always trust your gut feeling you never really know what i did today for my client was that yesterday we work together on kind of a presentation of a new idea we've kind of built story around it and today i had to turn that presentation into a website which is not really complicated because a website is also kind of a storytelling and when you scroll it's kind of like you change slides so it was a pretty fun day took me half a day to design it in sketch then moved it into web flow did not actually get to finish it but i'm heading there right now we'll show them what I've accomplished so far and then off to a nice weekend add the last one to arrive to the office I gotta take care of that weekend sticks so that was another great week actually quickly because there's only working for two days next week I'm going to be working three days but I still got lots done and got some time off with my family to think and have new ideas so I'm quite happy with it hope you guys have a great weekend and I will catch you next
