[Music] couple of weeks ago I had a lunch meeting with uh SAR my former boss from open The Branding agency I used to work at we do lunch meetings every once in a while and coming out of that lunch I had a new idea for a collaboration something that we can do together that can be really cool me and AAL my developer partner with open The Branding agency so right now we're going to have a meeting and see if we can work something out [Music] all right so this meeting went really well even better than I actually expected and I kind of I pitched or explained how I think this partnership could work what open could gain from it and what and me can gain from this partnership and they were really open to it they really liked it and we've set up kind of a followup brainstorm to really think and try to you know come up with all the details of this partnership can't share it at the moment but here's what I think is the the real takeaway here you know nobody's going to offer you the perfect job in the world you're going to have to imagine it first and then create it and then sell it to somebody else you know because nobody knows what you really want so for example for those of you who don't know I only work 2 days a week with my retainer client and they didn't just come up to me and offered me Hey Ron can we pay you kind of like a lot of money almost like a full-time uh salary for only two days a week no they they didn't offer that to me but I came to them when they were looking for a full-time employee and I pitched it to them I told them come on I can do the work in two days a week and kind of show them how it's possible and then did a trial with them and proove proved it that it can really work so you know I had to come up with the idea that this is what I want to do that this is even possible and then go and Pitch it to them and sell it to them and it it works perfectly so now I'm kind of imagining and dreaming up an even better uh situation for myself and I'm trying to go and Pitch it and sell it uh and see you know how this can work out what I'm trying to say here that you can't expect anybody to come and offer you your dream job you have to think about it and then sell it anyway it's a beautiful beautiful afternoon I'm going to go home to get some more calls but it's it's just nice to see here at the park watch the sunset and uh yeah guess going back to work in a few minutes hope you guys have a great day I'll catch you [Music] tomorrow [Music]

To create your dream job, you need to imagine it first, then pitch and sell it to others. This requires collaboration, partnership, and effective communication. The speaker's experience with Open, The Branding agency, demonstrates the importance of taking initiative and being proactive in creating your ideal work situation.

Key Takeaways
  1. Identify your ideal work situation
  2. Pitch and sell your idea to others
  3. Collaborate with partners to make it happen
  4. Negotiate terms and conditions
  5. Conduct a trial period to prove the concept
💡 You can't expect others to offer you your dream job; you need to create it yourself by imagining, pitching, and selling your idea.
