they want three things they want potential users so visitors to the website to be able to easily understand how much they can make with the staking pool using these using a staking reward calculator so that's number one number two they wanted um the website to provide general information to users on what staking pools actually are and what is staking with cardano and then um thirdly is they wanted a map sort of a visualization with a by using a map so i guess to show that um blockchain is decentralized and yeah so those were the requirements that cardano sort of put forth and then the second thing for me um that i was kind of looking at here was the design fundamentals so you've got hierarchy color type layout content and overall aesthetics so that was the second thing and then the third thing was does it have all the pertinent elements of a of a web page so messaging is the messaging there so for example does the headline explain what value the business delivers sub headline that kind of thing visualization calls to action and then social proof okay so three things first one is the brief so requirements by cardano design fundamentals and then pertinent elements okay that being said let's knowing the criteria let's jump into the top five submissions uh from our flux students let's go okay so first off we have eli alkaraz which may sound familiar with eli was part of our last challenge in which he performed very well so uh shout out to eli he's back with another redesign and i think the first thing we can do is actually just scroll through and get a quick first impression of this redesign i know right off the bat it seems like a very thoughtful layout it's very informative but at the same time seems to be quite easy to consume so well done there but let's actually compare this with the uh criteria set so number one first big chunk is doesn't meet the requirements by cardano and yes it does so the first thing is uh does it actually communicate how much you can earn it does here in the headline earn up to 6.8 pa et cetera et cetera and it's also got or eli made sure to include a staking calculator um down there so there's a check for that first uh requirement second thing is does it provide general information on what are staking pools what are staking rewards and what is staking with cardano and eli made sure to include that in the in section number two here about staking rewards you've got some textual content that's solid and then the final thing that cardona wanted was a map i guess to visualize the decentralized nature of blockchain and eli made sure to include that over here so i give that i give that first chunk does it meet the requirements set by the sponsor i give that a 5 out of 5 for eli so well done and then the next thing is design fundamentals and without getting into the details if we get into the details here this is going to be another hour long video like the last one and so um without getting into the details i will say first at first i thought the colors the color colors and color combination was a little slightly too vibrant just given the space but i actually changed my mind i think that the given that blockchain is quite new um i think having a more a friendlier color combination is actually a good thing so um i'm a fan of that and without getting any into any further detail i gave eli a four out of five when it came to design fundamentals so well done there and then the final thing that i wanted to sort of grade is does it have all the pertinent elements of a home page so how's the messaging is there how are there calls to action social proof and um visualizations and so yeah there's i mean the social proof is right here um and everything else is in place without getting into too much too many details but as you can see in terms of that i think it's a solid five out of five and that all averages out to a four point six six so shout out to eli well done fantastic work um let's get to the second submission okay so next up we have perez shop but before we get into actually comparing the criteria let's just go get a quick scroll through in here quick first impression as you can see quite a short web page you'll notice i can scroll horizontally and that's just because this is a figma file so fret not but let's actually think about the criteria here so does it meet the requirements set by cardone yes it does in fact perez chose to include the calculator in the hero section well done there and then social proof et cetera et cetera the map is there is the map here yes it is although it's not it's a bit lifeless i would say um but in terms of actually meeting the requirements set by the sponsor i would give this a five out of five in terms of design fundamentals i think that everything is in place but i would say that the the art direction seems to be a little bland so compared to the current website i would say that this isn't this doesn't really differentiate itself yeah so i ended up giving perez a three out of five when it came to design fundamentals just because yeah it didn't seem it didn't feel as differentiated as it should have felt um given that this is a a redesign right and just comparing it to the current website final thing is does it have all the pertinent elements of a home page and i actually gave perez a four out of five for that mostly because it's missing um the footer there's no footer and the other thing is the visualization there's no real visualization it's a it's quite heavy on the textual content so yeah i gave perazo four out of five when it came to that and that averages out to a a four still fantastic work so well done perez shout out to you let's get on to submission uh number three okay so next we have the submission by luis gonzalez and let's get a quick first impression here i think it's um i think it's a great composition a lot of very negative space heavy a lot of textual content but easy to consume thanks to all that white space solid so let's actually think about the does it meet the criteria so number one the requirements set by cardano so first thing is it's got the the messaging right it's got the does it have the calculator yes it does it's got the calculator does it have the map indeed it does although a little faint but it does have the map and so i give luis a five out of five when it comes to actually meeting the sponsor's requirements i gave luis a four out of five when it came to design fundamentals and it's mostly because aesthetically it's well done but aesthetically and in terms of art direction it doesn't feel as it feels a tad lifeless and a tad bland just compared to for example eli's submission otherwise though i think it's fantastic the hierarchy use of color use of positioning alignment and the actual overall layout i think is very thoughtful and so i gave luis a i don't know if i said it already but i gave lisa four out of five for that and then finally finally finally we have the does it include all the pertinent elements of a home page and so i gave lisa four out of five for that mainly because so it's got everything it's got the messaging the cost action the social proof down here but the actual visualization i don't know why this reminds me of this visualization really reminds me of freepik.com and it's just not as thoughtful as i would hope so in terms of the visualization which i feel like is a really important element of of any home page um whether you're offering a service or an actual physical product i think being able to visualize it in action um is really important and so i gave luis a four out of five for that so it's still really good of course all the important elements are there but this is the top five you gotta get into the uh the nitty gritty here yeah and so that averages out to 4.33 so well done luis this is uh this is really solid shout out to you let's get on to submission number four okay fourth submission and by the way and this is in in no particular order is by rouge felicia which i believe is how you say it and so i think the first thing we'll do is just quickly scroll through it give you a little first impression here there it is and so let's actually let's talk about it so does it meet the requirements set by the sponsor indeed it does so here's tells you how much you can earn it's even got the staking calculator down here it's got the map um that the sponsor wanted so i give it a five out of five when it comes to the actual meeting the requirements set by the sponsor next thing is the actual design fundamentals and this is where it gets a little iffy so i'm not too sure about the candy gradient i'm not too sure of how fitting this gradient is in terms of the color itself but also just the volume the amount of times it's used um again moderation and balance is everything so yeah i mean number one i'm not sure if it's fitting and number two it seems to be um quite overwhelming in its use so there is that and then there's a few other things so the jagged sort of text here for example the rag is just super jagged also it's this section here feels a little visually imbalanced um i see rouge i see the um what you were going for in terms of going for a sort of a more of an innovative layout in this section but it does feel a little imbalanced visually and also in terms of proportions like the you know looking at the size of the logo in the top left here relative to everything else feels kind of large the micro copy the text within the buttons is quite large as well so just the proportions in general feel a little bit off here as well these buttons are quite massive and so that's another thing that i would work on so if if you're you know i would say if you're going to um go with these kinds of proportions it needs to be super obvious that you're going for something a little out there but here it's not there yet if that makes sense um and so in terms of all that being said in terms of design um design in general design fundamentals et cetera i'd give this to 2.5 out of 5. and then finally let's look at does it have all of the important elements in place so indeed it does the messaging is there calls to action it's even got the social proof right under the hero section here which is really solid and so you know other than i'm not sure that this visualization um is that great it's there but it's just not it's not that it's not the best in my opinion it's also missing a a footer that being said i gave it a four out of five um for for the third piece of criteria there and then i think that averages out to 3.83 out of 5 which is not bad at all so well done rouge um solid submission regardless and uh shout out to you for participating fantastic work all right let's get on to the last um and fifth submission okay and last but not least we have a submission a redesign by baskar photo uh sorry if i mess that up my bad i'm really bad at the names but uh anyways um let's uh let's go give it a quick scroll here shall we um so there it is got the cool little illustrations the squiggly lines really neat layout solid okay so um let's talk about the requirements here so it's got the messaging is on point it's got i believe it's got the calculator does it not yes it does calculate your profits perfect and we have the map as well requested by the sponsor so perfect five out of five for that and then in terms of design fundamentals i believe i've i uh gave out a four out of five yeah i think it's sound throughout i wasn't sure if this this alignment was intentional if if it is intentional i'm not sure i'm not 100 sure if it works um otherwise i think um it's very sound in terms of the layout itself the use of the colors work together hierarchy so the concept the actual content is easy to consume but yeah so four out of five for that and then finally uh the actual elements themselves you've got your messaging call to action even got some social proof um the only thing that i sort of have an issue with is the visualization so this illustration within the hero section feels a little cliche with the rocket and everything [Music] and i just was it's not something it didn't feel like something that was super polished especially compared to the fantastic layout that you have going on down here so i gave the third sort of big piece of criteria four out of five and so i think that comes out to 4.33 average regardless that's the fifth um submission about bhaskar thank you so much for that i think you did a fantastic job um shout out to you for this great work now time to announce the winner which given the averages you know already so the winner is and you know already uh eli alcaraz scored the highest um and you know truthfully i feel like it's the most thoughtful design of the bunch so shout out to eli uh congrats on this one buddy um eli wins a grand for for this challenge uh but i do want to give a massive um thank you and a shout out to everyone who submitted not just the the top five uh it's always a blast um looking through the the submissions and seeing all the different work and the different takes and approaches so shout out to everyone who participated again congrats eli well done if you guys um if anybody here is watching is not part of the the flux community and check out our courses below we can learn more when we open the doors and stuff and yeah thank you so much for watching i will catch you guys in the next video peace
