on today's video I'm going to share a Chrome extension that really sped up my workflow everybody what's up and welcome to another week of weapon of choice on today's episode I was struggling with something that was really annoying to me when opening up new tabs and going to my favorites I'm gonna share that with you and I found a Chrome extension that really made my life very much easier so the Chrome extension is called infinity new tab and I want to get actually get started by sharing you the problem that I was trying to solve here so as you can see I have a lot of kind of like favorite tabs here but one of the things that I use most is kind of the Google Drive and I have here this is actually linked to my starred Google Drive and those are documents that I work with all the times now the problem with this is that to find the document that I really need here it's pretty hard to find it I have to start reading all of them and it takes me time takes me like few seconds until I could find the doc even if I do this they pretty much look the same it's hard for me to define them so every time I would want to go to one of these Doc's I would have to open a new tab go to drive wait for it to load then try to look for it and it was pretty annoying so here's what I wanted what I really wanted is to be able to create kind of a custom icon that because we as people we recognize icons and colors much faster than it takes us you know to read a title so I wanted to create kind of a custom icon for each one of these documents so I can really quickly just find it click it and go there so this infinity table actually allows you to do this so when I now open a new tab this is how it looks like obviously you can customize the background but this is not what I cared about I do have now my Doc's here as you can see it's like my content calendar it's my yearly calendar it's my money Doc's it's my final stuff and for each of them I created the icons yet please don't judge me did this in like five minutes so the icons are ugly but was important for me is that each of them has a very specific color and very fast I can recognize or I can get used to what this icon means to me so I don't have to look for them again so now the recognition is so much faster and this is really easy to edit so you know I can just edit it this is the link that I'm working with this is I can replace the icon here just do color icons and actually this this kind of affinity tab has really awesome other shortcuts and kind of widget that you can pull in here I honestly did not use this you can make the background image dynamically change and all bunch of really cool stuff but for me the most important stuff with the ability to create icons for my shortcuts so that I can really really find them as fast as possible and I've been using this for a few months now you you can't believe how faster I am in my workflow because just having to go through this list and read the title to find the document that you're looking for when you do that 10 times 15 20 times per day it just takes a lot of your mental energy and waste it on stuff that doesn't really matter so for me this was a huge hack trying to lower my mental mental you know processing power to just get to where I need to faster hope this would be helpful for you for whatever you know bookmarks or processes you're running at the moment and awesome I'll see you in the next video [Music]
