[Music] around five months ago I've made a video declaring that I'm going to make a bet on VR and get into it and learn how to design for it because I believe it's going to be a huge platform in the future and I want to be there first so I've started learning a bit of unity doing some tutorials and reading a lot of articles about the platforms about how to design for them but over the the past months after really getting into it I kind of lost lost motivation and lost my enthusiasm for it and I think it's because I don't really see the usefulness of it now I mean it's pretty cool you know for entertainment and gaming which personally I'm not that much into gaming and I'm I I enjoy letting my son tell me play with this Google cardboard to kind of see uh I don't know 3D videos of elephants and and monkeys and stuff like that but other than that there's nothing really practical personally as a designer I'm not really into creating games I'm more into creating utilities that solves problems and in this point I mean I I don't see VR helping in that sense and I read a lot of articles about it and really came to the conclusion that perhaps VR either is not there yet or perhaps it's never going to be there and then I saw that today intvw there is an event dedicated to VR and AR augmented reality so I decided that instead of just giving it up completely I'm going to go to this event hear some talk experiment with some new tools and see what's really going on and then I can better decide if I want to head in that direction or not until then it's later today it's 6:00 p.m. starts so I'll do my normal beginning of the week new school meeting client work hope to get my haircut and just rock and roll [Applause] [Music] get Chanel [Music] like bye [Music] right pretty productive day so far been able to finish everything I wanted to do and even got some time to watch the sunset before heading out to the VR event [Music] [Applause] [Music] as I want to be [Music] all right so pretty cool event here are my kind of takeaways from this so VR as I've kind of suspected I don't think it's really going to be that huge because it's there are no real practical kind of applications for it other than gaming and everybody was talking that AR augmented reality and mixed reality which means kind of having some kind of holograms or Graphics integrated within your reality is the actual real big thing but technologically that's very far what exists now and what I've been playing with the hollowland is really is not really there it's going to take like 10 more years at least before it's good enough uh and it's usable enough and it's going to reach that you know kind of mainstream level so I guess that means that it's still interesting and I should keep an eye on it but definitely not as you know I shouldn't be that aggressive betting on it because it's not something that's going to be happening really soon but anyway I'm super glad that I went met a lot of friend met a guy that I haven't seen for 9 years that I was working with so it was really fun and I always like these events hang out with my friends and you know see new cool stuff so I think this day was pretty awesome hope you guys have a great one as well and I'll catch you tomorrow [Music]
