hi i'm miles beckler and in this video we're going to talk about how to build your business online if you have more time than money now when i first started i was in the same boat and actually i didn't really even have that much time i made the time because i was working a 40-hour week job and i was commuting two hours every day to and from the job but i made the time i didn't have the money so if you're in that kind of a situation the first thing to know is that you can do it it is possible i have a number of other friends in this industry who have all bootstrapped their way to success bootstrap's just kind of a term pull yourself up by your bootstraps you had no investment you had no money coming in you really kind of did it on the bear budget possibility now minimum cost for getting going is probably going to be in the neighborhood of 25 to 30 dollars per month which breaks down to about a dollar a day maybe even less than a dollar a day so there is going to be required some investment on a few tools that are going to allow you to have everything you need to build this out i'm going to run through the three components which we talked about in the last video but specifically speaking to you as someone who has more time than money and is still really 100 set and committed on building your business online so the first side is the website building system now what you're going to want to learn is a system called wordpress wordpress is a free content management system and yes you're going to have to skill up and you're going to have to dig deep and you're going to work in order to make this work for you and your business work if you don't have money to invest in it right away the cool part is you can get to a point where you can reinvest your roi and what you're making and take advantage of some of the strategies we'll talk about in the next video which is if you have more money than time anyways back to it you need wordpress that's the number one website system it's free but you're required to purchase a hosting account a hosting account is essentially virtual real estate it's a server or a computer that's online 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year there's a really smart guy or gal there monitoring it and your website lives on this computer so when other people around the world go load your website or visit your website it loads from that server you can't get away from having server fees you should be able to find a good host for for ten dollars a month or less and odds are we can find you one for five dollars per month now i've used a lot of hosting companies in my day and i've changed many times i'm not going to make a specific recommendation right now because it's difficult to edit this video and at any time you got to understand on the hosting world these companies are bought and sold by big conglomerates very regularly and their services their quality and their kind of support can change dramatically really quickly and when that happens i'm out i'm on to one i need the utmost best support so be sure to check the resources page you'll find the link below in the in the details in the description below and that's where i'll lay out the specific web host that i prefer now once you have hosting which should cost between five and ten dollars per month then you're going to install wordpress and you're going to install a theme that's all you really have to do at the beginning and then it's on to content and a little bit of theme customization now the cool part is right here on youtube it's insane the amount of great videos you can find that'll teach you how to install wordpress how to customize wordpress how to build a squeeze page how to build a landing page with wordpress you don't have to buy any premium themes but there are a couple that could make it easier a theme is basically the look and design and layout of your website the default wordpress is very simple you can get a really nice theme i use one or two of them i'm really keen on one of them it's called thrive information is in the link below and really what you're able to do with this is make the process of putting your content on the page in a beautiful manner really really simple point and click easy to do all in it's the least expensive way to do it but it does require you to skill up a little bit there's still only one websites or i'm excuse me one email service that i recommend that's aweber you can find their information in the description below as well you don't need to sign up for these yet we're going to get to those points but i'm giving you the overview and then on traffic traffic you're going to have to go with earned traffic strategies now a lot of people say free traffic it's kind of a common buzzword and there's no such thing as free because it takes time and it takes energy and your time and your energy are not free but the good news is you're able to take your energy and take your time and put it to use in a manner that you can drive traffic this is exactly how my wife and i began we had zero subscribers on our email list i had zero knowledge of how to install wordpress zero knowledge of traffic strategies at all and we went from that to building a very successful business online through hard work it takes trial and error that's okay that's how you learn so the one of the best parts of starting from where you're at in a position where you don't feel like you have enough money to invest but you have some time to invest and you're committed to it is the skills you're going to learn will offer you the ability to potentially do work for local businesses for friends for family members which can generate additional side cash for you while you're growing your internet business for us my wife and i this is exactly how it worked we got so good at working with wordpress and customizing it and driving traffic with these earned traffic strategies that business well friends and family first were like hey i need a website for this friends and family who are business owners and then local businesses started to learn that i could help and asked me if i could offer services and i said absolutely i could build you a wordpress website and i began selling websites for one two three thousand dollars a piece i started making them 100 on my own at first i then started outsourcing the development process and had a team build them for me i was kind of a project manager and i was generating a few grand a month that way while we were still building our business and investing more in our business on the other side and that was really my path so that's one of the side effects kind of like the the hidden benefits of going down this route is that the skills you learn are valuable no one can take these skills away from you right so once you get these skills and you solidify these skills you can leverage them to generate additional income and i do believe that selling services is a very fast way to make a full-time income online so the free traffic strategies let's go a little bit deeper into them number one is content marketing content marketing is the process of putting out great content whether it's written audio or video format onto your website and additional platforms linking it all back to your website and what happens is users on the platforms and the search engines can find your content rank your content and deliver visitors to you so an example of how this could work is if you're in the golf niche for example you could write up a really good post on how to correct a slice right it's it's some there's a trick to correcting your slice it's something you do in the back swing i don't know i'm i'm not a golfer per se i'm just rolling with this to give you an idea of how this works so you go research go down to the library literally free grab all the books on golf you can free look up and read everything you can on how to fix a slice free and then you write one article that summarizes what you learn from five different books this takes time and it has to be an excellent article it has to be something that other people would generally be willing to pay for you publish that article on your website and then you go publish teaser content and images on other websites and you make a video about it and you teach the same thing that you learned and you wrote about on your blog on your wordpress blog or wordpress website you then teach that in a youtube video and link that youtube video description back to your website and then you put it on facebook link it back then you put it on pinterest you link it back and what you're doing is you're building audiences on facebook and pinterest and instagram and all of the different youtube and you're linking back to your site in a manner that they can get more information from you whether they want to go read more or join your email list and you'll have an offer that will allow them or entice them to join your email list we're going to talk about that in the future that's really one of the key kind of hinging points on going from the website portion of this to the email list portion so i'm glazing over that right now on purpose because that's not needed to dive deep into we will get there ultimately what you need to realize is that your website is kind of like an island out in the middle of the ocean right and then you've got and there's nobody on it but you right now and you're making it look nice you're dressing it up as best you can you're putting good content so people will be interested and then you have these other islands around you google facebook pinterest youtube these islands have billions of users i literally mean billions that's thousands of millions of users and you're able to make your island connected to them through links as you'll see look in the description right i've got the link to my resources page i've got i might have more links i might have a link to the last video and a link to the next video as well what i'm doing is i'm making little bridges that'll help you get to more of my content because i want you to keep going some lovely person on the interwebs literally laid out how to install the exact theme you're looking to install every step of the process it's detailed out there so you don't need to go spend money on a course you do need to get hosting you do need to get an email list service provider aweber is the best one out there period and i'll help you tie all that together and get it all set up so you don't need to do that now i'm planting the seed and then from there it's your hustle with content is how you're going to get people to look at your offers people to subscribe to your list and people to eventually make purchases that's where you make the money now this process is a marathon it's the best way to think about it as a marathon you're going to want to get a good pace going and the trick ultimately that i covered in one of the previous videos is your commitment to taking action every day it's an hour a day great do it if you can do two hours a day that literally will speed up your success by 50 by 100 it will it will cut the time it takes to get successful in half you can do 40 hours a week right now 60 hours a week grind it out i guarantee you you will speed up the process to generating income and you're going to love it getting your first check from an affiliate commission making your first sale on your own info product it's an amazing feeling and the first one is the most difficult the second one's a little bit easier the tense one is even easier and it gets easier and easier and easier all right that's it so realize deep down and know and affirm to yourself that you can do this because i know you can because i've done it no special training no degree in design or computer anything at all it was all foreign to me now it's pretty easy i can install a wordpress website i build up platforms and funnels and connect autoresponders in an hour or two it's going to take you longer because this is your first time doing it it's worth it it's worth it it's worth it
