hello everyone i'm at view productions now this tutorial is a rehashing of an older tutorial so before you actually start building this redstone to contraption i suggest that you guys watch the full tutorial uh so you can get an idea of what i changed because in the beginning of the video i sort of did things the original way and then i changed them around later in the video to actually make it compatible with the most recent version of minecraft so i will let you guys know when a part is coming up that has been changed and uh enjoy the tutorial i know it's a little messy but i did my best hello youtube i'm at view productions and welcome back to another minecraft tutorial today i'm going to be showing you guys how to build a really quick simple and easy hidden door in minecraft now the easiest place to build it is just a big uh kind of wall like this and we can kind of clear it out though and make it look still natural so maneuver these blocks around i think that's a pretty natural nice big enough space to start building now then you can just pick somewhere you want to put the door i'm just going to put my door right here two by one uh block kind of door like that all right now we need to get enough space to actually build this contraption so we're gonna go into our little hole and just do three blocks in like that that should be enough maybe four blocks get some torches so we can see in here actually i'll just drink a couple potions yeah anyways we also want to go to the side and dig out maybe three or four blocks like this just kind of get this area nice and opened up can also go up a couple of blocks like this i'm just kind of clear all this stuff out that should definitely be enough space to build our contraption inside the next thing we're gonna do is actually start getting some materials that we need out we're gonna grab some sticky pistons we also obviously are gonna need a little bit of redstone we're gonna need repeaters as well a redstone torch redstone blocks i think i'm forgetting a couple of other things that we're going to need uh but we'll get those as we go this is just what i can remember off the top of my head all right now to actually start building the door the first thing we're going to do is place sticky pistons facing this way right here here here and here then we're also going to go this way and place them here and here so it looks like this and we're gonna have one block over here right before the entrance of the door we're then actually gonna want a block of our choice we're just gonna get some stone out and just place some stone right there right there it should be looking like this now the next thing we're going to go ahead and do first you want to get a repeater and place it right over here facing this way so the two sticks are towards this block and then we're just going to click it once to set it and then we're also going to get some redstone dust and place it here and here and you're also going to want to put your dust right here behind the the repeater get the stone out put it here and here because obviously that's what we're going to be putting as our door here so that's actually the door mechanism that's all we have to do for it now we're actually going to do the key part of it where we'll place the redstone torch down and we'll open the door so it's all hidden except for where you put the torch down and it opens up now obviously like before we want to place our key where we want to end up putting it and there is going to have to be a block above it i think i'm just going to place it down right here and then put the block right there that looks pretty good so now we got to find this redstone torch on the inside so we're going here we're just going to dig it through this and i think it's probably somewhere um yeah right about there so there we have found it so once we have found out where our redstone block is or a redstone torch rather we're gonna wanna make it like this so we place a block here and basically what's happening here is this redstone torch is powering this block up here so if we put some redstone right here we can see it is actually powered by this stone block so we make it go down yeah we have to clear some more space out here so we have some some room just to work with to build the mechanism that powers the door so that's all figured out here we can just block all that off all right i just made this outside look a little bit more natural to fit with our thing so i've made the redstone dust come down over here i've realized now that the shader pack i'm using is making the redstone a little bit wavy for some reason anyways we want to put a sticky piston right here it pushes out then we actually need to get an observer block observer we'll grab this guy and make sure that his arrow or whatever this red part is facing towards our door and then we also want to get another sticky piston and place it right here facing the observer block and then we'll put another redstone torch right here then we need to connect this redstone to this redstone so as you can see what we're going to do is just make this run down here see we'll run the redstone down and that'll power it so the door mechanism should have been fully powered there i'm going to do a little editing to this design here as you can see the top half is working which is nice but now we got to make this bottom half work it just means we need to power these pistons down here all we have to do is run some redstone down there so we'll just run some down there and now it should be fully working so i break that fully working door oh i forgot to power this piston as well there's always a little bit of troubleshooting going on with minecraft now it should be working so let's see if i remove the key all right everyone i finally got it to work it took a little bit of troubleshooting but here it is so obviously when you take the torch away it is just nothing a solid door and then when you put the redstone torch down there you go it is completely open so what i did is i completely got rid of the whole observer system here and just made it a direct wired path to this piston that pushes a redstone block and when the redstone block is pushed away from any of the other redstone nothing is activated all these pistons retract at the same exact time but when it is engaged so when this block finally folds back everything is pushed in as you can see the redstone starts here and it goes to a repeater i have set delayed all of the way so then after this delay will power these two pistons right here these pushing block out ones and then after delay these pistons are activated so it's very strange how it works but at some point um this older piston method got updated and it's now changed but this definitely works so you put one down and it opens up like this and you close it up and it closes up all it took was this one repeater and deleting this observer
