hey everyone it's David from overload and it's question time just like we do every week we're taking a closer look at a question that we get from the overload community this week we were looking at the question has the drop shipping market become too saturated this is a great question for anyone looking to start a drop shipping store and one that has probably held back some would be drop shippers so it's drop shipping saturated well it's definitely gotten pretty popular anything that makes people money will become saturated at some point and lots of people have made lots of money with drop shipping but when people ask is drop shipping saturated what they really want to know is is it still worth starting a drop shipping business today there are definitely lots and lots of people running online drop shipping stores today way more than there were a few years ago but that doesn't mean there still is an opportunity out there sure more drop shippers are entering the market all the time but so are more buyers ecommerce sales are projected to hit more than four point eight trillion dollars by 2021 in 2017 that number was just two point three trillion so we're talking about one hundred percent growth real rocket ship emoji stuff so some of the early drop shippers were able to capitalize on that first wave where there wasn't much drop shipping competition and if you start today you might have to work a little bit harder and be a little bit scrappier than you would have been Oh two years ago but there are still lots of opportunity let's look at three key ways that you can stand out from the ever-growing dropshipping crowd number one find the right niche what are you interested in what do you care about what do you always talk to your friends about try to serve a niche market that you truly understand if you have flowers for example well there are tons of gardening products that you can dropship if you like exercising launch a store with massage balls and elastic bands and weights because drop shipping is so popular is going to be hard to find a niche that is truly yours the next best thing though is finding a niche that you are passionate about so that you have the energy to get yourself heard number two take your own product photos this is a simple but powerful way to differentiate yourself and your store why well as a drop shipper there will always be people out there selling the exact same thing as you but most of them will just use the images provided by the supplier take this walking assistant for babies from Aliexpress do a quick google search and you can find lots of stores selling this exact same product using the exact same photos so what can you do go the extra mile order the product yourself and take your own unique product photos you could also put together a video of the product being used making passable videos is honestly not that hard if you put in this extra effort potential customers won't lump you in with everybody else selling the same product instead they'll perceive you as a more professional and trustworthy alternative number three provide a great customer experience it's amazing how many sellers out there don't reply positively to customers or don't reply at all so build a user-friendly website provide loads of information and give transparent shipping details and if you reply to questions and complaints then customer service can be used to gain an edge this will lead to good reviews and help you build a community around your brand even if your products are the same as some other people's so yeah some nooks of the dropshipping world are getting saturated but if you're willing to work hard and find ways to stand out from the crowd and if you find a niche that you really care about there's plenty of opportunity out there think of it this way in the next few years thousands of new drop shippers will enter the market and become successful why not get started now and become one of them alright that's it for me if you have a question leave it in the comments below I check the questions all the time and I'll get back with you if you've enjoyed this video make sure to subscribe to our channel for more and don't forget to turn on that notification belt until next time happy job shipping
