Using Google Cloud, Shopify completely transformed its data infrastructure to bring together all of its data and connect it with the latest groundbreaking data and AI technologies to deliver powerful business intelligence and AI insights. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: Shopify wanted to modernize its legacy data infrastructure to accelerate data analytics while establishing a strong foundation for embracing AI innovation. 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As an ecommerce company that needs to focus on building for its merchants, Shopify realized it could build a new data infrastructure on top of Google Cloud instead of starting over from scratch. Shopify decided to bring all the store and merchant data from its core operational databases into BigQuery to build a unified data foundation, primed to harness the full potential of its data. Consolidating all of its data in BigQuery also allowed Shopify to tap into the full power of the Google Cloud ecosystem, including Cloud Composer, Dataplex, and Looker Studio, helping to reduce the toil of data preparation and get to insights even faster. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: With a new unified data foundation, Shopify can now leverage Google Cloud’s advanced data and AI technologies to power real-time insights that improve its own platform and help merchants improve their shopping sites.
