to create compute engine instance backups the backup and Dr servers will use an automatically created service account that is attached to your backup and Recovery Appliance now if you have watched earlier versions of this video you would have been told you needed to create two service accounts and a cloud storage bucket and then add them to the service as an on vault pool and a cloud credential none of those steps are needed anymore all you need to do is ensure the service account that is attached to the relevant backup and Recovery Appliance has the correct IAM roles which are backup and Dr cloud storage operator and backup and Dr compute engine operator if you want to use this service account to create backup of compute engine instances in other projects just copy the service account ID that looks like an email address so switch to the relevant project use the grant access button to add it as a principle and ensure that it has the backup and Dr compute engine operator role that's all you need to do
