hi friends this is Excel Guru rajinikant and today the query is most most important and one of our friend asked in telegram group regarding this to find the last number in a range with we lookup only okay there are so many ways to find uh last two value it may be a number or it may be a word but you have to find with only V lookup so here I'm going to share a solution with you guys now I'm going to share a screen to explain you what it is actually okay see we have in it may be a large data large may be more than 10,000 or uh more than 10,000 think okay so you have to find the last number or a word with the we look up okay so here is the solution see what I'll do first of all first of all what I'll do V lookup only V lookup you have to use the maximum number in a Excel is 9.9 e + 307 this is the maximum number in Excel okay means 9.9 307 times it will repeat for that reason in short form in centrific notation it is 9.9 e + 307 comma select the range select the range comma 1 the column number column index number and range look up is by default it is approximate so you can leave it off or if you want you can keep it but no need of uh applying range look up okay so it's not an AR function it's a normal function that is we look up I press enter 3y is the last number and now how you will do a letter I going to say it's a word okay see the same formula I'm using the same formula but no difference in letters what is the last alphabet that is it okay just I copy this formula from here I'm copying formula from here and pasting over here F2 in place of 9.9 because we are looking up the last value right the last value may be a number or a letter we doesn't know I mean to say a character it doesn't know so with this formula you can do it look up also will work it's not a big issue but this is just shortest then look up very shortest then look up right so whenever you are finding the last number you have to use a maximum number in Excel that is 9.9 e + 307 when you are looking about the word means it's a character means it's a alphabet then you have to use the last alphabet in a letters that is z automatically it will pick up G okay guys and if at all if you're having any more doubts in Excel please let me know in the comment box and if anybody wants to join in my telegram group and I'm going to share a solution in Des description box so you can go over there and click and if anybody wants to join my WhatsApp Channel then one that one also I'm uh mentioning in description of this video thank you guys thanks for your support
