all right everyone what's up welcome to lesson 14 of the Surfside PPC Amazon affiliate course pretty quick lesson today it's gonna be about permalinks so permalinks are important because they show you how your urls are structured and you want to have them so they're structured in a way that Google can read them easily I say Google but I mean search engines Google is just gonna be your bread and butter so what we do here is you want to come down to settings and permalinks in your WordPress website and you come over to permalink settings in common settings it might be under a custom structure right now but what I like to do is click post name so I use this one post name for my US kohls.com sample post so optional over here so you have a product category base product tag base so this is how I use category base I don't use anything tag base I don't use anything you don't need to you can use like shop or things like that you don't have to if you have any product attributes you can adjust them here I don't really adjust any of this and then at the bottom for product permalinks I use shop base with category so it's gonna go down to custom base here but I just use shop base with categories so basically what that means is when I put a new product out it's gonna be farmhouse Gold's calm slaw shop let's say it's you know a farmhouse console table it's gonna say farmhouse console tables and then it'll have whatever the product name is here so it's a really easy and clean structure for the link you could also just do product sample product shop sample product however you want to do it but I like to use shop product category it keeps a little cleaner a little more organized and not everything's under the shop structure there's things under the product category structure so once you click Save Changes it'll save your permalinks like that and that's better for SEO purposes mine before it had an index dot PHP in there so you don't really want that but a pretty quick lesson today you just want to set your permalinks properly if you have any questions leave them in the comments and thank you for joining us
