Ability to enroll people into a vision that you have and your capacity to engage and inspire change. Being present to what's happening in the moment versus forcing your own agenda. The challenge with building an executive presence is finding that perfect balance between asserting your presence and collaborating effectively with others. Creating visibility of your results and not coming across as selfserving. It's not either or. It is a yes and. You have to ensure that your contributions are recognized, your expertise is showcased, and your professional brand resonates within and beyond your immediate team to expand your presence and at the same time not create a perception of selfserving motives that overshadow your team's contributions because nobody likes that. The most effective leaders I worked with had humility and really cared about their people which created the best results. The most ineffective leaders I worked with only cared about the results and left their people behind.
