Golden Gate's big data adapter can write to a variety of destinations. So, we'll configure it to write the data in AVO format to Google Cloud Storage. Finally, we load the data into Cloud Spanner using data flow for a full end toend pipeline. In this example, we're using Oracle's sample database schema for customer orders. It's a straightforward schema that reflects an order entry processing system. We start with an autonomous database configured in OCI. The name of the database is SalesDB. We configure OCI golden gate with two deployments. One for extracting the data from an autonomous database and one to write the data into Google cloud storage using the big data connector. If we connect to the Golden Gate admin console, we can see the configuration that writes to GCS. We can also view Golden Gate's activity. See the configuration file is configured to write the data to GCS in AVO format. Going to the Google Cloud console, we see the GCS bucket where Golden Gate is writing files that contain changes from the Oracle database. There are directories for each table and we can view the files and see an AVO format file. We've configured a simple Spanner database that has tables that match the Oracle database schema. A dataf flow job has been configured to read the data files from Google Cloud Storage and update the records in Spanner. We can view the status of the jobs through the monitoring tab. Now let's look at this in action. On the left, we'll connect to our autonomous database. We'll query the database services just to confirm that it's an autonomous database. And now we'll look at the last 10 orders that were placed in the system. We can see the last order number was 2859. Now let's move over to Cloud Spanner and run the same query. We see that the order data is being replicated from Oracle to cloud spanner.
