if you were looking for an easy way to show your boss or a client how a video might appear as an ad on YouTube I have the perfect tool for you this video is gonna show you how easy it is to use the YouTube mock-up tool so you can showcase how any sort of video may appear as an ad on any device it's really simple to use it's only gonna take a couple minutes so let's just dive right in to find the YouTube mock-up tool just visit the URL that I have right on this video and I also have it pasted in the description below assuming you are already logged in to a Google account you can just click launch and you'll be taken to just pretty much a blank screen if this is your first time here you don't have any mock-ups yet so we need to go to the lower right hand corner and click the plus button next you can drag and drop whatever video file you want to preview as an ad as you can see on the second line there are only two file types supported just be aware that before you try to upload something it may take a little bit of time to upload the videos so just be patient we see the videos successfully uploading you just gotta let it render for a little bit all right so now my video is uploaded to the mock-up tool next we can name it so let's see how my video would look as an in-stream ad as you can see on top there are a few different ways you can preview the ad if it's mobile portrait mobile landscape laptop and then the optional watch page we'll look at a few of these but first looking at mobile portrait so as I'm first previewing it you can see there's the countdown until the user can skip the ad this is important because if you want to test out your video and make sure that your most important message is within the first 5 seconds this mock-up tool will really help you see if you're creative justifies an in-stream ad in here's I would look from a laptop standpoint we see the preview and now the user can skip so this is a really good way for you to look to see if your video creative is going to be entertaining enough to keep the user engaged past 5 seconds typically the paid media pros videos we're pretty much just talking and doing demonstrations to the camera and you may get a video from a boss or a client that is longer and more of a demo type run-through video if you look at it from a TrueView in-stream perspective we now see that's probably not the best type of video format to use for in-stream so if your boss or client is pushing that demo type video to run as a video ad this mock-up tool can be very helpful to give you the push back you need to show them then it might not be the best option before you go out and spend a ton of money promoting your videos see how your video ad will she looked like in public you might see that your video would look great as an ad you may see certain key elements of your video looks horrible on mobile devices the YouTube mock-up tool also makes it easier to show clients where the main call to action or attention-grabbing scene first hits if it shows up after a user can skip the ad you can now visually show them how most users can miss the point of your video ad right now we can only look at what a TrueView in-stream ad looks like but for now this is a nice tool to have in your back pocket so you can showcase how a video might look like as an ad on YouTube thanks for watching our video make sure to subscribe to the paid meteor pros channel to see more videos
