this time things are getting up as in creating realistic-looking fork let's get started with another affinity photo tutorial I will show you different techniques throughout the video but before we get started we need some important information and that is how does folk look so search it on google look at different pictures for example in this picture you can see that the fork sticks to the sky while the ground is kind of clear but when you look at this picture you can see that the Fox sticks to the ground while the sky is kind of clear so the other way around in this picture you can see that the fork has a lot of texture in it and looks very different but looking at this picture you can see folk that has no texture it's just fading into the background so there's different kinds of folk different qualities of it and we need to figure out how to recreate them one thing you can do is for example to go to brush easy I'm not sure if I pronounced it right and there's a lot of folk brushes they are originally created for Photoshop but they work just as good in affinity photo so this is not a problem the other thing you can do is to look for either fog or smoke textures and download them and use them in your pictures like here so as you can see it looks very nice I will show you how to do that so let's get started over here when you select a picture be sure you don't select a picture like this because it's a nice picture but that's a lot of sunshine on the ground and usually if you have folk you don't really have sunshine so this isn't really working but in this one we have a cloudy sky so this looks like a picture where it is to expect that you can have fog on the grounds okay the first technique that we are going to use is to just place a texture on the picture because it's just the simplest way to do it so go over here and file place select your picture I will select this one and place it in your picture there we go I will reduce the size a little bit because it's way too big there we go let's see so it fits on the picture you don't have to use all of it I will just use the lower part because I want to have that sticking to the ground and then all you do is set your layer to screen there we go and you could be done like that if you're happy with this result you can also go and duplicate your layer or just let's let's import another layer let's go let's use this one this time BAM there we go again resize there we go and set it to screen and now what I can do is just move it around and put some more folk where I think there should be more folk I can also just stretch it to get the effect that I want to have so you can create a lot of things here very interesting logging folk forever whatever you feel looks right feels right is the thing that you want to create for your picture so this already looks pretty interesting so this is one way to do it and I will hide these layers now so we get to the next way to do it and that would be to create or use a texture brush so let's head over to our brush tool over here on the left and then we go to the right where it says brushes up here click on brushes and then you click here on this little icon way it SAS import brushes click that and select the layer where you have downloaded your brushes here you see it's a ABR file click on that and open I have already done it I'm not going to do that now it will import your brushes and where are they now you have to click on this list here as a pop down list and there are all your different brushes in here and the newest one is at the bottom so you can see free fork Photoshop brushes to click on them and you see a selection of a lot of nice brushes we will select one make sure up here that you have selected white as a color I will create a new layer because I don't want to paint into the picture so I can edit it afterwards create a new layer and just click once as you can see the really big brush is 3 thousands in size 3000 pixel let's click on that BAM there we go deselect our brush and we have painted onto the picture a very nice and big and intense fox so this is a different kind of for quality of course you can still go in there for example with a mask layer and paint on it maybe with your brush use your brush set it to black use another brush I would I would ask you to use a texture brush so it has more like a grain to it let's maybe use this one that looks good maybe what is this one no this one no this one looks nice ok and now we're going to set it the opacity maybe to 30% something like that reduce the hardness so we get soft edges and the rest is OK and now I can chest paint in here and black and reduce reduce the where I don't want to have too much for going on if you think like down here the edges of the brush are too hard it's absolutely no problem just click on the mask click on effects activate Gaussian blur and then blur it and it doesn't do anything at all ok this doesn't work I'm sorry go up here to filters blur Gaussian blur and this works ok there we go set it to a setting where you feel this is alright for example like this and now apply it and we have something that looks like a changing density or fork in our picture so that is the second technique that you can use and it's also kind of the third technique because basically what you do in the third technique is let's hide this layer and create a new layer what you do is you just use your brush and go to brushes select a nice texture brush where you feel this works good for me wait I want to set it to white there we go and now this works click the layer click on effects click on gaussian blur and set your radius and you can see it's getting blurry and more blurry and more blurry and you can set it to something but you think ok this is the thing that i won't want to have this is the setting that i feel alright with there's a really nice and easy technique and now you can just paint in here your and you say oh no this doesn't look good no problem you have to reduce the opacity of your layer like this and there we go easy and of course you can readjust the sharpness or the the blurriness so this gives us a lot of opportunity to really get the folk that we are looking for and be very creative with it this is a very nice way to do this or to add folk in the other pictures so this is a very quick and easy way to do this again you can use of course your masks too you can use the same brush set it to black and paint in it where you don't want to have too much fog so you get a little bit more texture in it and again we can see we have different kind of densities in our fork so although this looks pretty good in the sense of textured fork and of course like I said you can make more or less intensity we can now give it more opacity to get back a little bit more of the whiteness in the fog so these are three easy techniques to create a realistic looking fork in your pictures and probably the brush is the hardest to get the results but you have the most control so the easiest I found is to just use photo textures onto the pictures like this and I'm have something that looks nice and realistic with very believable structures inside of the fog although this is smoke but it still works and refine it by either putting on more of these textures and resizing and stretching them or using the brush onto the fog to create something more interesting or put the where you want to have it so this really depends on the result you wanted to have using the Photoshop brush was interesting but also kind of I mean it looks very good if you want to have a lot of fog all over the picture that's a easy solution with just one click but I found it a little hard to control with the mask so but you decide and I'm looking forward to your comments in under the video to see what else you have created of course if you want to you can support me on patreon I have an early supporter program so it's just $1 for a lot of benefits you get the original files with all the layers you get additional files from me like crunch maps texture maps different brushes over time so I still need to create those and you get a live feedback from me in a discord channel but also you can post stuff in the community as other members have done where you can get feedback for the stuff you have created so far so there's a lot of stuff you get for just $1 okay thank you for watching see you in the next video and I hope this was helpful to you bye
