This This is one of the rookiest mistakes I've seen founders make when pitching investors. I got this email blast with their pitch deck with their revenue. I don't know who this person is. I'm not even I'm not even an investor. Now, raising money is not marketing. It's a network game. You need to start with the people that you know. Now, if you don't know anybody, well, first of all, I don't believe you. Like, I'll bet you $10 that you know someone who knows someone. So, I'd start with LinkedIn. What I did when we were raising money is I made this list of investors in our space. I literally sat down for a week, found a hundred investors that invested in SAS and in preede that were based in New York area. That's where we were at the time. And then I opened a 100 LinkedIn tabs and I tried to find which of them I had a second level connection with, somebody that could introduce me. Now these days, you can actually skip the week searching for the 100 leads cuz our investor finder just has like 20,000 investors that you can filter. So, what you still want to do is ask your mutual connection for an intro and then ask permission to this investor to send your deck. That's how you do it, not with a spam email campaign.

👉Find the right investors and map your connections with our Investor Finder: app.slidebean.com/investor-finder
Raising money is not marketing.
One of the most common rookie mistakes founders make is blasting their pitch deck to strangers.
Fundraising is not a cold email campaign.
It’s a network game.
If you’re sending your deck to someone who doesn’t know you, doesn’t expect it, and didn’t ask for it, you’re already lowering your odds.
The real move is systematic relationship building:
• Make a list of relevant investors
• Map second-degree connections
• Ask for warm introductions
• Ask for permission before sending the deck
Access is earned, not blasted.
