hey everybody I'm Jim Nez Ricky and this video is about how much money you can expect to earn from a niche site now the obvious answer is it depends but that's what everybody's going to tell you we've done enough niche sites that we can at least tell you what kind of returns we expect to get when we start a niche site so that hopefully you'll have at least a baseline to judge it by so we're kind of basing this in these numbers off of a simple niche website with about 30 articles on it in a decent niche and a site that you kind of just let sit after you've written the 30 articles so we're going to talk about how much you can expect to earn what sort of traffic you can expect to see over time and that's important we're talking about a site like let's say I make a site about leatherworking today we're saying I spend a month and I write 30 articles and then I leave the site and I don't come back and I do nothing I have no social media I know nothing it just sits there what would happen to the website well we've done that a lot of times and so I'll give you an idea of what we expect yeah so here's what it comes down to bottom line about two and a half cents per page view per month that's and this is again for a site that has been monetized through Amazon Associates basic basic affiliate marketing this is without ads or any other products or anything on your site you're just linking to product like Amazon so how much traffic do you need then and how much money will that translate to and over time so our we're going to give just our general answer and then we're going to go to specific examples we've actually seen this play out so in six months well we'll show you real data look up here this is our actual Google Analytics for exactly one year for a niche site that we started like almost exactly no a one year and two days ago it's like this is a perfect example and this little drop off at the end that's because it's August 2nd right so there was a bit of a look about it so let me just take you over there come with me so I write all this content I write 30 articles on camper rapport comments an article it's a website about RVs stuff and I'm writing to a ghost town I mean there is essentially no traffic for month one month two month three month for one month five nothing is happening on this website because it takes Google a long time to trust that content and this website and then you see at six months in we get to seven thousand page views a month and now this is starting to look better yeah and actually that number seven thousand a month is what we think is about average for our sites camper report is actually done exceptionally well yeah camp report a report at six months was more like 15,000 double the numbers that we're going to give you for standard sort of average yeah this one outperformed what we generally expect but the curve is exactly what we're used to seeing that so about seven thousand a month and then by ten months in we it's normal to see around twenty two thousand page views a month by a year we want to see a niche site up to thirty thousand page views a month if your niche site is earning thirty thousand page views a month you've got you have some significant income there if it's if it's one year old you're at thirty thousand page views we're doing good at one and a half years we would expect it to hit forty five thousand page views a month and then it's going to kind of plateau at that point if you're not adding any content anything at two years you can expect you're on fifty five thousand and then it's going to pretty much just stay steady until that content is just old and not useful anymore so that's the curve it the problem with niche sites and the reason so many people fail is they go month one up to a month three and they're so good or digital bother you nobody's coming to my website and I'm ten months in and nothing's happened and they don't realize that it's like it just grows crazy at the end once Google really starts to trust your website your articles have been tested against others and can be worth some good income you should have to stick there people that sell their niche website rare and they miss out on all this and it didn't take it did not take any work to get from here to here I said you just had the letter all right let's talk about some specific examples so we showed the data here for camp report comm let me show you the actual website so the genesis of this website is I bought a trailer camper for my family we live in Idaho and that's what we do in Idaho and so I didn't know anything about trailers as I learned about trailers and I was you know googling tons of things before I bought a camper and what I did is I literally just went back into my Google search history I looked at all of the things I had typed about camper over the last two months while I was researching it and I just answered my own questions after I had done the research and made this and it grew exceptionally well alt in fact even shows you the income this is one year in yeah we are exactly one year into this and again I haven't even logged into this website now a long time and it brought in 1380 three dollars and 13 cents last month again I did 30 days of work I spent about an hour a day for 30 days wrote the content and then it sat there then I also to work week an average American working you just and I'm going to be cashing in that check for years like it's so cool it's just awesome and to give you an idea in April this site earned about $500 so again once once that curve starts to hit and that traffic starts to pick up and increment each month just gets bigger and bigger until again eventually it will maybe a year from now kind of Plateau yeah and we'll have a little drop during the winter not sure many people camping and stuff we've checked the Google Trends and it's not as bad as we had originally thought it really all right so that's a good example next one is a pontoon guide calm which I eventually sold I spent one and a half years so I wrote the content all in about 30 45 days I just wrote 30 articles and it sat there I did nothing else I sat there for about a year and a half and it got up to four thousand two hundred dollars per month that it was earning it was at the end of a summer and I knew it was a big crash coming for the winter and I'd sold my boat because I wanted to get a camper and so I wasn't really interested in it anymore so I sold that website I sold it for $75,000 so I got all the income for a year and a half and $75,000 when I sold it and again we're talking about I wrote 30 articles and like that's just off yeah all right look let's talk about one that actually we just purchased this was a website dirt bike tips and picks com you'll see that it's going to redirect to dirt bike planet com we renamed it this is a site that we purchased based upon well it's been a it's been up for about ten years it's got about 40 solid articles a bunch of other kind of pages with kind of short content let me not hang on yeah we wouldn't we wouldn't treat it as an article um let's see and then this sites only been earning about $3,000 a year but again yeah just the owner of this I told us that he admits he just hasn't like touched it in a couple of years if you did a good job where the site is just really old he didn't have the time to dedicate it with it yeah and you know it I don't remember what he said in its heyday it was running a bit more than that but this site should be earning with the traffic it has it's not a thousand page views a month yeah it's properly monetized it should be earning you know a thousand twelve hundred dollars per month not three thousand dollars a year again this site doesn't even have any Amazon affiliate links or anything like that it's not monetized with Google Ads and an e-book and that's it so yeah with a few little Corrections the site's gonna be up in earning hundreds of month today's will happen yeah yeah this we've came to this website Dhirubhai chips and pics I saw that it was for sale and that they had thirty thousand page views a month and he only wanted oh I think he's asking ten thousand and we paid seven thousand four and not my jaw just hit the floor that's like are you kidding me of course I'm gonna buy that website because thirty thousand page views a month there's no way it should only be earning three hundred dollars a month from that if it's properly monetized you should easily be over a thousand dollars a month with very consistently with that like with like very little effort so man went on an opportunity like this you're like how fast can I pay you you know exactly all right nice opcom is another example this website is large it gets about 350 thousand page views a month has 200 articles on it I bought this one from another guy and it earns $5,000 per month it has ads and Amazon affiliate this is a route has been an amazing investment I'm glad to have it for sure it's been awesome but I wouldn't have built this website I wouldn't have built it from scratch and because knives cost 20 30 40 dollars and so your affiliate Commission is just really small and so unless you have massive traffic like this 350,000 paid fees a month it's going to be tough to earn a significant income from it so I wouldn't actually pick this niche if I were building it from scratch right next one and we're going to get into a couple of sites that we would say underperform but we'll explain why this next one is called sound proof expert com this is actually in a good niche this is a site that's been up for seven or eight months now the reason it underperformance because we didn't finish it we wrote I believe there may be eleven ten or eleven articles on the site and several of them are new right and so yeah it wasn't like we wrote 30 articles in the first month it was over time we kind of wrote one here one there and so again this site hasn't had time to take off and in fact in the last couple months its income is doubled but it's currently earning about sixty to seventy dollars per month and we're actually giving this site away we have we have too much that we're working on right now and so we actually have to give away going for this site so I'll just I'm just going to throw in a pitch for that here if you want to 20 articles like the ones that we have and then probably another six months to a year and the site if you just like the other ones again it's just one that we don't have time to add another 12-hour you'll see right now too many sides going on yep another one is DIY House security comm this one I would consider our failure websiteís I don't know if I want to get into all the specific details of why this site site didn't take off over 15 articles on a good quality articles and it earns like $15 a month it's super tiny we made some mistakes learning experience from this one on this with our content that made it so it did not rank as well in Google and you know it's a lesson learned and you know a few months ago I mean it sat for a year and did not earn a penny with 15 articles and we just could not figure out why once we figured out our mistakes we've corrected the mistakes I think it's get it's taken a few months for Google to start sitting hands to give us a chance and and now you know two months ago hundred seven dollars last month and 15 dollars so this is another one where again it was a failure at first that year we should have been neat seeing the traffic go up we didn't and it was our mistake and hopefully we're going to see that site go up the way that in the other ones half and again it's a little bit unfinished another 15 articles on that site and I think it'll do again just like any of the others so as you can see from this we have a wide variety of results here but in terms of what we expect to happen at one year in I would I'm disappointed with a website if it's not earning a thousand dollars a month if you build a website you you know write at least 30 articles on it and you sit it a year I'm a little bit disappointed if it doesn't hit that thousand dollar mark that's kind of our benchmark and you know up from there but there are so many so many mistakes you can make in building a niche site that can make this not even close to a reality for example if you write short articles that aren't formatted very well as to to get that traffic and you know none of this is realistic if you if you don't approach it in a very specific way and
