[Music] [Music] a couple years ago when I founded yast I was the development team on my own up until two years ago I did all of the software development myself now we have a team of eight developers working on our software that we spread out to about four or 5 million users worldwide at y we have an Agile development process which I think is quite common these days but here we employ a combination of scrum and comound practices so for instance we do have standups we do the uh the Sprints and we also employ uh the pool principle from comom for instance I'm responsible for uh fixing bugs for uh riding new uh features but also for breaking things this means that when a one of my co-workers um fixes something he'll send it to me and I'll break it this team has grown tremendously in both how we are organized and how we're developing as in which techniques we're using and which Technologies we're using we've uh seen switches going on everywhere around this process I guess what's really important to us is to have short feedback loops uh and to have uh small workloads for developers to work on and a low waste in our in our process working at means um getting a lot of uh learning experiences I get to go to uh conferences all over Europe this means that we get to meet a lot of new people um get to know a lot of new technologies as well um that helps us grow also we have uh heck days once a month a heck Day means that you um get to play with uh new software uh that you want to develop new programming language um new technologies uh new patterns whatever you want we also do a lot of fair programming we communicate a lot about small problems and uh we also highly encourage that kind of communication because it just makes developers better and uh it also benefits the software and in the end it's just more fun so I guess that's what we find important here at Jo open source to us is more than just open software it's it's something that we try to do in the entire company to be open towards people working at y about how Usos is running but also towards the outside world to be open and transparent about what we think and how we deal with things I hope that's something that you see not just in this video but in a lot more things but it is some of the one of the biggest core values of our company [Music]
