[Music] hello my friends how are you doing i hope you're having a good day so yeah let's have a nice stream tonight also have a look at the new creative pack and i've shown you and i have my new background i played a little bit around let me know what you think about that and also how you are doing hi eric from idling thanks for joining delford hi from colorado thank you for joining uh joanne from the netherlands hi thanks for joining go create from scotland hi thank you for being part of this stream again jens from germany hi thank you very much nadine from nadines yeah from switzerland hi thank you very much yeah also as you can see my mic is now coming from the other side which means now i can see my screen a lot better than before because before this arm was in front of the screen so it was always like and now i can see it ah and also all the things should be more professional now because i invested in a stream deck look at this so now i can do sound effects a little bit i have to still learn how to do that i only have two sound effects one is this one so i can do stuff like that now and also switch between scenes uh which i will show you later because i only have two scenes which is the work scene and the talk scene which is this one uh yeah so let's see um i will add some more stuff in the future i also wanted to have a voice effect but there was only one and uh i have was to pay for i didn't want to do that right now uh maybe i find another option because i only want to have one effect which is like a a a how do you say a reverb um and i have a lot of reverb effects i just don't know how to to turn it on and off that's that's the only problem um all right uh let's post this here real quick one second boom there we go okay uh let's make this a sticky post there we go okay cool um hi sabine from portugal thanks for joining again and uh deborah from west virginia hi how are you doing um jesus from prpr what is that i don't know lie to pixel from vienna hi how are you doing thanks for joining um did i did i forget anyone i don't think so joe from hi hi cho how are you doing where are you from hector from denmark hi thanks for joining oh and joe is also a supporter which you see on this little um do you see can you see that in the chat like there's a little icon next to the name that's pretty cool uh on on youtube that is a youtube supporter there's also the patreon supporters stuff like that so it's pretty cool ah all right uh awesome okay um should we start right away oh we we also have the challenge i forgot about that one second i have to open that up uh we have a review for the challenge boom boom boom let me open this let me find this real quick i was not part of the uh i was not part of the benny productions video he did the review already on the um on the on the on the medieval challenge and there were some extremely cool entries so that's okay uh also there were like hundreds of entries so that's also like of course you can't look at everything out there so that's okay um i i still would have found it really cool but well that's um also nice you know that's things happen all right uh what uh wait a second where's the chat that's the chat boom there we go hi uh joe from from california hi how are you doing really cool i was just uh watching a video where they talked about california which another video netflix episode is called um sweet tooth the little boy who wants to go to california uh so yeah just the first episode i haven't watched much of that hi pavel thanks for joining all right uh let me open up affinity photo and then we can look at some pictures and play a little bit around with the um by the way also let me know if you want to see uh should i do maybe a longer video about the overlays uh uh for the pack because i thought maybe that thing that i showed you as the presentation would kind of explain how to work with them but maybe you wouldn't want to have some more details like i think i left out some things like you can change the blend modes and also i found a kind of a workaround for this problem where um you get these ugly edges that have a different color i will show you in a second um let me let me download real quick image that we can use here uh that that one is pretty cool here i don't know what that's in the background but let's just let's just download that um let's go here and then save and then open and then i can almost switch over to so you can also see something i hope you can see that let me know if that's too dark wait where's the there's a stream deck so uh work live boom you can see i can i can switch uh just with a button um i can switch between scenes so that's pretty cool i only have two scenes right now i wanna i wanna put some more stuff in there ah all right uh let me where's the chat the chat is over here hi robert from vienna oh there's a lot of people from vienna it's interesting it's really cool sweet tooth wants to go to colorado oh no really he wants to go to colorado not california i thought it was california you're right it's kind of it's colorado right okay okay interesting so you also know that show pretty cool let me let me look at the map real quick one second let me check that out colorado i was wondering because he was looking at the map and it was not at the beach um so california is over here of course and colorado is somewhere oh my god i don't know oh no that's carolina oklahoma um oh my god where where is it georgia kentucky where is colorado um ontario no that's in canada what is it not a oh my god colorado is there is that don't tell me oh okay okay that's over here all right all right right basically in the middle right kind of a little bit to the best okay so this is colorado interesting all right okay pretty cool good so now that we know that let's go back here to affinity photo and like i said we have these overlays that i created for you uh yeah this is the pro pack and um if you look at the link in the store i think i created a good um overview so you can see them or the chatbot is already active posting that that's good let me open this up real quick so you can see here blah blah blah this is the pack and then you have these and you can't click on them but what you can do i i wrote it up here you can right click and then open image and then you see a larger preview of all the overlays that are in here right so you get kind of an idea what's in there it's still small but i mean it's it's for the appropriate it's 170 different overlays so um there isn't really a good way to show that um you can like in the in the in the in the free pack you have seven of them so there you can have a kind of a a test a kind of an idea of what's what's going on there right okay so a very easy way to use them is to just drag them in here so you can just take them drag them in here and then you can simply resize them like so and then you have it on your picture you can go to lighten and you can go to screen if you want you can go to add so you can you can play around with the different modes to see what uh what is helpful for you and as you can see it's very easy and fast to create light effects and if something is too weak one thing you can always do is to duplicate the layer you can see if i duplicate that right now it's not getting brighter but if i go to screen right now um yeah you can see now it's getting brighter um or at you can you can play around with the different blend modes here and see how they influence you can also see with color dodge you can you can make certain parts brighter not all of them uh so yeah there's certainly a lot of potential uh to play around with that and um where's the chat by the way hi d123 from oregon how are you doing where it says united okay interesting okay thank you for letting me know uh okay what i wanted to show you is uh let's group this real quick like so and here's the thing when i make a mask now and the mask is blurred uh let's make it like this make this a little bit more blurry and you can see if i paint here now you get this kind of uh sometimes you get this kind of green color here you can see here the border and also over here it's kind of green you see so it's not it's not just hiding the color it's kind of interfering with the color so it's not uh not ideal but what i found what you can do is if you go to group it says pass through but when you change the group for example to lighten you can see that this ugly green thing goes away see look at this part here you have a little bit of a kind of a greenish looking yellow here so if i go to lighten you can see that this is now just hiding the effect and you can also set it to other blend modes but probably lighten is the one that has the least influence on the colors on the overall look and so you can have this uh blending softly and at the same time not change the color impact uh land grabber that's that's a strange name okay pretty cool is that for a video game or something land grabber like on minecraft or something um i'm impressed with the bennie medieval challenge uh great piece of art with finney photo yeah i want to do more there thank you very much for that by the way i also was very impressed uh like surprised that i can do that because i i was kind of worried it's not going to be good uh because i'm not not a like this kind of photo bashing thing is not a thing that i do very often so i was i was very um positively surprised that i can do that and i want to do a lot more of that because this can help in a lot of different ways to do interesting things um yeah and also of course with uh with the overlays to have more of a how can i say um more of a use case basically a reason to use these overlays right so that's also pretty good and i want to do more challenges like that um and i'm gonna announce the next challenge i think on on tuesday which is gonna be a super challenge that i created so it's also going for a full month so this time you really have a full month uh to create that stuff and um was about to say oh yeah it's just based on my stuff so i will explain that and then i will also create an image that is um based on that concept and show you a time lapse and and also show you what i learned in the process uh yeah and and um a little bit like oriented on on benny productions but with my own style and my own kind of um way of doing things basically and of course specialized on affinity photo right and i think you can use it in a lot of different ways like not everything has to be so extremely sophisticated like he's doing the stuff this kind of thing here that we're doing with the overlays is basically out of that skill set of working and bashing together pictures to create something new and at the same time it's it's photo editing right so yeah it's just english word oh okay i see interesting all right pretty cool there was i think in gaming there was always this kind of concept where they wanted to have like a multiplayer game where you can grab land and then you know build it up and and then different factions can fight against but kind of never worked out right for some reason this is kind of a thing that not really works in online gaming for some reason right maybe because it just takes too long to build something up um and then you know you have so many people who are not like i don't know you know what i mean never mind anyways okay cool so um let's play a little bit more around with these effects here so you can just drag in any kind of effect uh in here and then i have made some of them these kind of multiple overlays you see like for example this one has two in them and the purpose for that is that you just you can use both of them if you want to but you can also just use one of them uh by just selecting them and coping over or creating a mask whatever you want so there is just more on that because i didn't just want to waste all that space just for one overlay uh yeah so and also you can adjust them in color so they have a lot of possibility the reason by the way this is also something that i wanted to explain is the reason why i created these color variations is when we look for example at this pack here where is it the spark set like this one here um if you look at this here and then at this here this is not just a color change right and the reason is because you can see here this is mostly pink but this is blue and then it has some violet in here too so this is not just you can't create the same thing by simply adjusting the hsl right or or the color adjustment and the green has some blue dots in here stuff like that um and this is yellow and orange and stuff so it's not just a change in color there's a lot more stuff going on although the particles are in the same position as you can see and then should have the the same look with a different color right so this is why i made these color variations so you have the the basically the main colors or or some very popular colors to work with and then you can do fine adjustments within these colors right so it's also possible let's drag this in here for example this kind of blue with a little bit of violet in here you can see you can just adjust this also um lighten or any kind of other adjustment i want to do right and now you can go for example a really good way i found in affinity photo is to use selective color and you want to drag this onto the layer but with this short line not with the long line with the short line here you can see these different blue lines this one and then look at the colors you have in the overlay here it's blue and violet so probably let's select blue first and then you can just play around with the sliders and see what you get from that right uh just go visually here and see um what kind of what kind of effect you get what kind of adjustment you get if it fits to the photo or not right so you can do a lot of adjustments here and then also play around with the other layers if you want to for example the magentas might have an effect yeah you can see here in the violet let's zoom in here a little bit this has a certain effect here you can see in the violet parts of the image right so with this you can adjust the kind of the taste of the colors you have in here sometimes even more right so for example if i go for the blues and i adjust this drastically you can see this becomes a very different kind of blue um and we can also go the other way like so and this becomes more of a pink than in these areas that have blue in them but you can see that it does not effect these areas here because apparently they have a different color maybe cyan so let's see cyan yeah you see this is more cyan so if i remove the cyan from cyan the other colors are left and so this is why it turns pink right but you can also make it more cyan and then remove the pink and you can see this has this kind of teal blue um so yeah there's a there's a lot of possibilities to adjust these and give you kind of a different flavor and this is also why these are different variations of color and not just um they are not just changed with hsl or with recolor or stuff like that right okay wow i'm talking a lot today ask me some questions if you have them about this um all right uh one one good idea that i showed you in the um in that in the in the video let me open up this file here real quick one second um where did i put that is it in here trash yes there it is okay i made a trash folder now i want to get a little bit more organized so everything that is in trash i can delete without thinking about it right so that makes things a little bit easier because there's so many folders from these downloads i don't know about you tell me if you have the same problem like you have download folders upon download folders with stuff that you downloaded at some point and you can't remember if you need to keep that or can throw it away so you would have to go through hundreds of files that you downloaded at some point anyways okay so you can see here that we have a certain natural light not natural but we have a light structure in the picture and so we can place the elements similar to what we find in the picture uh to make it easier for us of course here we have as you can see two colors we have orange we have a blue so we could adjust that for example with the orange to make the orange another color and then also have the overlay in another color um we'll have to incorporate this into portraits you can also use it for other stuff so you can use it for portraits thank you by the way but you can also use it for other things if you want to um yeah so for example like here we have the same situation you can go in here and then have selective color for the whole image right now and then look for what kind of colors do we have here basically oh let's go with the reds maybe yeah you can see with that i can adjust this kind of color here can i turn this pink i can yeah you see now it's pink there we go easy peasy um by selecting the reds and then you can see that these colors that have before being orange are now pink and so now i can um create a or like put an overlay here that is pink in nature for example this one let's put this in here set it to light uh sorry lighten and then for example i can put this over here where i already have a light shine from the pink light right and then you can for example put some on the other side that has a light uh that is more blue for example right or you change that too to another color so you can play around with that and also if you don't want to have these points here anything uh you can you can just remove that right you can just put a mask on that and then hide that um behind the character stuff like that and that is a very good way by the way to create 3d effects um in your in your image right because if you move this over so it moves behind the character and then you just put a mask on here it looks like it has more of a three-dimensional element in it right so let's just remove this here and you can see that is pretty easy [Music] like so you can even get more precise if you want to on the on the edges right but you can see now if we do that it immediately tricks our eye into thinking that uh this light effect is going um is going uh on behind the person right you can see like this immediately our eye thinks okay this has to be behind her because it's just like there's a part missing right and then at that point you could uh you could put some some more light effects here um to reflect that this is moving along here is this this is part of the effect too yeah uh where's my there's the brush there you can paint this out boom there we go okay so that's very easy if you want to see where your mask is by the way you can um you can either there's two ways to do that uh the quickest way is to hold alt and then click on your mask and you can see okay there are some parts that are still open there's some holes in my mask so i can clean it up and when you click on something else you just get the mask back or what you can also do is to drag the mask out and so that you see it punches a hole through everything you have this kind of checkerboard behind the image and it also is an option that also shows you the image at the same time so that might be um useful to to have that right okay um do you use apple products not really um the last thing i used apple products for a very long time but recently it's kind of not my thing anymore uh what was the sorry what was the question i mean a lot of artists use their products and wonder why you don't uh when i watched um artistic youtubers see apple products literally everywhere um hmm i don't know i think like um create like artists or designers and stuff they they also like the look uh on the design of apple and this is why they use it and also as very stable more stable than windows because they make the computer and the hardware uh sorry the software and the hardware uh so it's it's more consistent but for me it was like uh it is also limiting a little bit at the same time um and if you know a little bit more about computers windows is good enough you know because you can like just build up your system any way you want uh also i i didn't like their kind of they overdo it a little bit with their they have it uh what is it called um the the um uh oh god how do you call that they fence it in no it's called some kind of with a garden or something i don't know like everything is consistent and connected so everything works together well but at the same time because of that they take so many choices away from the user um and these choices can be very crucial at some points for for example backup of data stuff like that that it actually can be pretty dangerous for your process um with for example iphone and ipad how it's syncing because you don't really have too much control over that because everything is going through itunes and it's just going in the background you can't really have much control where your data goes how it's safe stuff like that it's kind of i need some more control over that right and also like the innovation steve jobs was the the super innovator basically in the sense of of having the vision where to push things and now he's not around that new innovations are like i don't know i haven't seen anything for a long time from apple where i think wow that is a really good idea you know like the apple watch is kind of um the apple headphones are like now is the apple credit cards like um ipad was the last cool thing to be honest i don't know the ipad was really good and a lot of people laughed at it when it came out and i was from the beginning really convinced that this would be good and now a lot of people are using tablets but since then it's like where's the next big thing basically from apple right is there something have you seen something that's really good that they have created recently i mean they have the macbook air which is nice i never required it myself i don't travel that much so i don't know um i i can't think of anything like they were really really good in the past and they said a lot of visionary um like i think also this is why we need these kind of how to say thinking different companies and they really did that at least steve jobs did that and and you see like a lot of people say well steve jobs didn't create these things yes but you need someone who has the vision right uh so that's the difference you need people who have a clear vision on what to do and then you have a lot of people who can do it a lot of things in life is like a movie where you have a director with a vision and then you have the team who can create that the director can't maybe do the filming or the sound setup or the light setup or the special effects but he doesn't have to the only thing he needs to have is to have a very clear vision what you do right and then you get movies like blade runner or alien or stuff like that like real classics or what what's a classic in the recent years matrix no that's also old what what is that uh ah i can't i watch so much many movies on netflix but i can't think about it i can't think of one right now uh sorry for being late no don't worry don't worry hi hi claudia sorry for bring sorry for bring claudia what does that mean uh hi kimonos thanks for joining thank you for the long answer yeah yeah of course don't worry you're welcome and this i mean once in a time these kind of innovations happen and it's super hard this is this is also i think what people miss on uh that it's it's really really hard to do something that is a is an idea that is there and then do something that is really changing completely how the complete structure of things works right that is the big thing like for example people say oh there has been an mp3 player before the ipod yeah but it was shitty it was just it was just a thing it was nothing special it didn't have any kind of integration or culture or it didn't change the world in any way right it was just an mp3 player like you know and then they made the ipod and the ipod was like really changing that was the point where people said maybe i should have mp3s maybe i should buy things online digitally and not like my old cds you know yeah that's a big thing you know that's the um bring was a typo uh what does it mean wait sorry bing bring what what did you want to say sorry for um ah being late okay don't worry about that okay okay i see i see okay cool uh what else can we do here let me know um oh yeah with the light with the light i think i showed this last time like this is something i i learned from benny and that is to use curves and then adjust them in a way where you think okay that looks good for example let's make this a little bit brighter here and then adjust the colors here um oh i'm is this everything yes it's everything uh let's remove the blue real quick here and then let me see let's remove the okay i'm i'm i'm failing terribly at this right now why is this not affecting the maybe there is no um i i wanted to to have the the for her forehead in in in pink but it doesn't for some reason it doesn't want to do that right now let me see what okay i'm failing at this right now so this is i mean ah okay interesting i wanted to i wanted to paint some pink here but apparently this is not the way to go um so let's try another method here usually that works but in this case it didn't work let's just grab some pink from here and then let me see let's go with lighten maybe how does that look sorry i'm completely failing right now here sorry for that um i will show you with another picture maybe well well well okay so that is that is not working right now let me go to this picture here maybe here it's working better let's see so what i wanted to do is you take curves and then you make it a little bit brighter in the way you want and then you adjust the colors let's see oh you can see here it works better so for example let's say we have some blue color here let's see what the green does uh yeah let's take this for example and then let's see with the blue we can push the blue up a little bit more like this maybe make it a little bit brighter like so and then you can see now this area here is bright you invert the layer so it hasn't any effect on anything and now you can um you can paint this in here let's reduce the opacity here a little bit um and then you could let's see you see you can you can paint some light effects on here if you want to um let's do this maybe here a little bit let's just paint this on here a little bit and then go the other way make this smaller and then let's reduce it from here i still have to get better at that by the way and i have said this for a long time i know but yeah you also have to find the time to do that i think that's the main thing holding everybody back is to find the right time to do these things but you can see we have now some light here that looks kind of realistic it could be better if you if you take some more time to adjust that and the good thing is because this is non-destructive i can still go in here you can see and make it lighter and make it darker and have this kind of light effect here and then you can paint it on the rest of the on the side of the guy or whatever you want to do with that um to have for example if this light would be closer to his arm to have kind of a light effect here and a good way to learn more about that is by the way uh to look at um areas where you have the light right so just to look at pictures where you have light situations like that and then you can um what i want to say uh yeah you can you can learn how the light would fall would be falling from that side right from that kind of direction all right um good what else can we do here by the way what is the stream time right now 33 minutes okay should we do by the way should we do a composite today i'm not sure if we still have enough time for that i would like to but i'm not sure if i thought well maybe hmm this one i think i used in my preview oh there's some other mask stuff here um and i also wanted to use some other overlays again um what kind of mask is this that looks pretty cool is that a mirror oh wow okay is that just like a salad bowl or something that he's holding in front of his face oh wow look at that that looks pretty cool i mean you see the photographer here so maybe that's not amazing but the mask itself is pretty cool wow interesting i wonder if you could do that effect just with a photo hmm because chrome is basically the chrome effect is basically just a reflection that is bent in the shape of the of the surface right hmm interesting anyways uh make it simple uh yeah maybe that would be a good idea like last time right um what should we do something let's let's try to do something with this guy here because i have already done something with this in the other video so let's close this here and let's think what we could do with this guy here real quick um yeah okay cool ah we could have some razor come out behind him let's see and this is also the nice thing about these overlays is like it's really nice and easy to to like prototype something right just to play around with this different overlays for example we have this here that could be nice like this in the background of him what what is this what's the half is missing for some reason oh there we go okay good so we could technically let's see if this is bigger is that cool should we do that maybe like so um or maybe in blue let me see the blue one it's uh maybe we can let's try this blue here a little bit different let's hide the other one wow okay that's intense um yeah let's let's play around with that maybe um let's make a quick composite with this guy here uh maybe should we select him first maybe a good idea right let's see if the selection brush can actually handle this because it's very uh like close to the background but maybe we are lucky it looks like we are that looks good okay okay okay let's also grab this that looks very promising right now okay refine i think that's pretty accurate i'm surprised okay there's a little bit of a problem i think we fixed that later with the brush there's something let's fix that later oh here's a axe in his hand okay let's apply this real quick here uh make a mask from that maybe like so okay there is some blurriness around here that's not super ideal let's fix this a little bit really quick let me see nope that's too big let me clean this up here a little bit now there's his shoes should we integrate the shoes let's see oh well i mean he's standing on that stuff here so maybe we should integrate that into the mask hmm there's the x let's reveal this stuff here real quick so we see what we're working with and there's not much to see here actually okay let's go like this real quick and then in here let's select this and remove it there we go boom okay uh brush make this white right no not white black oh black okay good all right um let me see this is a very blurry mask what's going on here um there we have the hand part let's fix this real quick there's some stuff here let's make this a little bit smaller real quick one second go down here again fix that part here a little bit better let's see all right um [Music] yeah probably good enough let's see let's put this on here uh actually let's make a group of that so we can then still move around the uh the texture inside come on go in here please boom no don't want hello there we go okay good let's turn this on and it's not working oh the mask is the mask is the one uh the wrong side around so that's pretty cool so now boom let's make this big okay so you can see i have now the mask on the group the reason for that is because now i can still move my um my effect around without having to to like readjust the mask i know there's this kind of lock mask thing but then still the mask is applied to just um the character and when you want to have it in more areas uh that's not helpful right okay uh let's see what else we can do should we should we oh sorry should we have an effect in front of him spark set like we have these sparks here we could use that let's have a try on that is that interesting wait a second let's try the orange ones this is kind of flame but we can still adjust that so maybe that might be nice although i feel like it's a little bit hmm it's a little bit much maybe right let me see come on we have these wider lines where you can use one of those let's try these so you can see you can also grab multiple of them it's no problem i will just set all of them to lighten so we can then just like switch between them so this would be one of them let's switch the other one off here i mean that's kind of nice um this would be the second one maybe we want to have a little bit brighter here let's duplicate this set it maybe to let's see color dodge overlay i feel like that's a little bit too much what's going on here right now um let me group this real quick and then move it in here so it's also behind him and then we can maybe for example do it like this so it's kind of these wings behind him right made from that is that interesting maybe a border around the picture really a border in what way match the x eyes on the collar for what is in front of him oh with the lines hmm that could be interesting yes that's true let me see from the line so we have something that's a little bit straighter from these lines we could use this down here [Music] um maybe one of this here but maybe it should be squiggly right we also have this kind of like smoke effect here that could be interesting yes that could be nice maybe make this pink so we have kind of a difference in color there's pink and there's orange let's take both of them okay let's uh turn this off because that's a little bit too much for now and then let's see when we take this to lighten and take this to lighten and then make it a little bit smaller put it on the eyes okay so we could have this one that's pretty cool with the blue in the background or we could have this one i think the orange is kind of nicer here okay so let's take this one uh let's put it here like so maybe just flip it right um let's make a mask over that mask to be low like so and then i take this duplicate that and then just flip that like so and then we can have it like this maybe wait a second make this a little bit bigger maybe oops hmm should be the other way around maybe let's switch them but i think if we switch them it overlaps even more which could be nice is that cool i like the other one it looks a little bit like an insect then or we take the other um the second one let me see this is the second one but the second one isn't like doesn't have this kind of pointy end um let's resize that one second then i look at the stream uh sorry at the the chat one second sorry for that there we go okay cool that's that's a little bit better snapping can be really annoying okay let me see ah cho says let me push this over here joe says when you have more time uh you're going to have to create a composite using the different packs you have created for us yes i want to this is one thing i want to do in the future more is to use my own packs because i've realized that i it is a lot of fun to create them for you but then i rarely use my own packs in my stream so i want to do that a lot more in the future so that's a very good point and i have to i have to put i have to create some concepts for that too um hi damian from the czech republic thanks for joining uh today received a first batch of vaccine oh that's cool awesome really good uh my hands hurt oh i'm sorry about that so did not participate in the challenge that's okay there's a challenge every week don't worry about that i hope you get soon better i will have my next shot my last shot i guess next friday so let's see how i perform next friday because i think the second shot is more has more impact basically hi shari from wisconsin thanks for joining really awesome thank you very much okay let's see what else we have here that we can use for our oh guy here right um [Music] like we could enhance these kind of crosses maybe let me see maybe maybe um let's duplicate this again sorry the other one like this and then i move the mask over like so and then let's resize this and put it over this kind of cross here it's maybe a little bit weak i think we need something stronger here so that's not gonna work okay cool so that's not it let me see what else we have we could use this one here or should we just like do this on the eyes is that good or is that too much let's see that could be interesting probably have to fade that out a little bit let's put this on here duplicate set this to screen maybe duplicate again maybe duplicate again whoa okay group this put this more on here like so how does that look not good okay let's not do that this is already enough we could adjust uh we could adjust these um we could adjust these axes to have the same color as um as the as the as the flames that we have created or these kind of light effects right so let's select these real quick and maybe also that part we don't we actually don't have to select that one second let's go to um selective color here and then we want to go to rats basically yes okay and then let's see [Music] that's not too bad okay cool cool um let me maybe let's select an adjustment here um if we make this screen let me see if that if we paint on that with white what happens then that's a little bit too intense so we want to grab this color here maybe this bright color here that kind of yellow make this a little bit smaller here and then reduce the opacity set this to screen as blend mode here for the brush and then let's see if i paint on this whoa okay i will explain to you in a second what the effect here is that i'm doing why why this is getting brighter i can maybe make this a little bit stronger here okay cool maybe a little bit more over here this is too much one second okay so uh let's have a look at what's happening here uh one second let's make a rectangle here real quick like so i will put this in the front okay um maybe make this black from the filling okay so when i have a pixel layer and i have my brush and you can see that i set the brush blend mode to screen by the way you have to remember to reset that because afterwards you will not like the the brush is working in the wrong way is that how you pronounce her name hi how are you doing thanks for joining hi stefan from slovakia how are you doing all right uh let's make this a little bit brighter so you can see when i when i um lay down um a stroke here and this is let's make this yellow you can see like because this has a low opacity low hardness i get this kind of yellow here right uh but because this is set to screen mode as you know when i have screen mode um from the layer blend mode like let's make a second layer here and i make another stroke you can see that this is getting a little bit brighter just because of the opacity but when i set it to screen this is actually not different in this case anyways okay let's delete this again so um what is happening here is because of the blend mode screen the brush is interacting with his with himself on the same layer so every time i brush on this this is getting brighter and brighter and brighter you can see and it it kind of has a maximum here because um this is not completely white right i can maybe if i set the opacity higher as it's getting brighter is it getting completely white it's actually getting completely white okay that's cool so you can see this is kind of an effect where you can paint these kind of light effects or kind of flame effects or stuff like that it's very nice for that right and you want to you want to start with kind of a uh like a not super bright color because if it's too bright if you if you start out like this then it's it's getting too bright too fast maybe right so if you start with something that's kind of medium or a little bit brighter than medium and then you can have several strokes or you can start with something that is uh maybe this is not good one second where's the i like this chooser here okay there we go if you start with something that's a little bit darker like so and then you get you can get brighter you can see how this looks like a flame but you can also see that this is now stopping at this kind of value so then you have to go to a little bit uh brighter value and then you can paint more on that and this is how for example in digital painting would create a flame or stuff like that um which is a lot harder but for this kind of effect here that's good enough you know that's everything you need and this is done with this kind of screen blend mode right you can also try other blend modes um but this is one of the easiest effects to do to create something that is getting a little bit brighter and as you can see here when i have this on normal mode this is not happening because if i now put this down of course this is getting a little bit brighter because of the opacity but then it's stopping at 100 percent of the opacity of that color but not getting brighter so you're not getting that effect you actually need to have this kind of blend mode screen set up and you can see now this is happening so it's a really cool um kind of effect to have by the way i have to i have to start to to promote my streams more i have recently not promoted them at all so but the live audience has dropped off quite a bit all right anyways i'm i'm happy for everybody who is here by the way um all right should we do something else here um some kind of different effect or overlay or something else maybe put something behind him still by the way we could um let's let me try this real quick this kind of effect you this spark effect maybe that's cool i just want to see that real quick let's have this behind him um in the group maybe behind that effect like so is it in the group right now no it's not let's just go like that i mean it's also nice it's maybe a little bit too much but it's also nice maybe another maybe a different color let's go let's go pink here let's try oops let's try these two here i mean that's pretty awesome i would say is that too much maybe what do you think do maybe like this that looks pretty cool by the way if i now duplicate this let me see if i duplicate that and then i make this larger maybe rotate this like so and then if we would hide the inside i see now it's on screen mode it wouldn't work and that's pretty annoying so uh yeah it's you really have to remember to reset that okay how about we weaken this a little bit on the outside hmm let me combine these two into a new group inside of the group and then what i'm going to do is i create an should i create an ellipse yeah let's create an ellipse here and then i will make a gradient that is transparent on one side and is also radial and then we have to reverse that so the content is in the middle basically the white part is in the middle and we want to put this here like so and then this is now going mask to below which means that this will hide everything that is okay we have to set this to light and now again okay you can see this hides everything that is not white in the um or doesn't is is uh not transparent let's say like that uh i can again readjust this to the center here and then i think we want to have this as ellipse unlock the arms of the ellipse did i lock it or unlock it now i unlocked it okay cool so we can go like this maybe bring it like so that should be good by the way these stripes here that is not from me that is not my overlays this is this is the background of the actual image uh we probably want to hide that because that looks pretty ugly um let's let's sample the color here so we have the same color as the background and then just paint this in here there we go and then maybe i want to duplicate this real quick duplicate um and then blur this so you can see i get this kind of glow around the effect like so so that's pretty nice yeah i think that works pretty cool uh now the last part that would have to be done basically is to draw in all these kind of by the way we can delete this group here let's clean this up a little bit delete this here delete this also there's too many things in here that don't belong this is also something we don't need this is something we don't need one second um yeah that looks good okay cool uh so now the next step would be um yeah let's go here and then curves and then we can do this kind of brightness thing that we talked about before and make this blue as you can see now this works really well hi um who is that oh god uh lulu lulu lulila sorry lulila hi from ukraine how are you doing thanks for joining hi uh nagaraj hi thanks for joining awesome hi stefan from slovakia i think already said hi okay pretty cool uh charlie from his concert did i say hi i can't remember i'm sorry okay cool uh let's let me play around with this a little bit more here let's maybe reduce the green a little bit although i mean this looks that looks pretty close to the background okay cool so now i will simply go in here invert this and then i think i'm going to control and then click on the mask i hold ctrl click on the mask let's invert this real quick like so and this means that now this is the light effect here light fx i can paint and can paint just on the inside of the mask or not what is happening here i'm on the wrong one sorry so this is not the light effects let's call this light effects here light effects what is this um okay that's the face face light all right okay cool so you can see now i can simply uh paint on here make this a little bit weaker maybe okay let's do this real quick i will gonna paint on here and then some here and some down here maybe i should only paint where that light is actually hitting the character right that's might be a little bit smarter than what i'm doing here right now okay let's remove this here a little bit and also here well got a little bit into the mask don't want to have that should we maybe have a little bit of the light also inside here i feel like this is down here that's a little bit too much on the ah we have to remove it from the [Music] that's not good should i move it from there or not hmm maybe i'll leave it on on just on one side nope ah one second let me mask this here real quick almost done i think we can just go down here let's see if that works um come on sorry oh that doesn't look good one second should we maybe just create a small line here that's crazy uh i'm gonna explain to you in a second this shouldn't be there probably this should be here that's good just up here let's okay good enough should we maybe have a little bit more light maybe touch a hint let me see let's make a second layer and then i explain to you what i just did let's reduce this to maybe four percent here okay good so uh one second so what i did here is basically um you have two things that are happening here right now so one is the light effect in total with the curve right and then you can see that this area here for the x is pretty dark so you could either create a second curve or another thing that i'm doing is that i'm creating pixel layers that i paint white underneath or brighter and this simply like gives the curve more to react with and this is why that edge then becomes uh brighter right so you can have this kind of lit edge of the x down here just to give it a little bit more visibility of course you can play a lot more uh with um everything in here right and um yeah so that's that and of course if you want to you can create this highlight around all these kind of areas here stuff like that you can put them here on any kind of surface that is um a little bit sharper sticking out a little bit i mean you can see from the from the uh from the shape here of what is going on on the uh on the clothing where the highlight and where the shadow would be so you can actually basically work with that right um and just like paint over this a little bit to make that area here brighter for example this kind of thing and give everything a little bit more structure right if you want like with the with the very same effect i just created let's make this another layer here just to show you real quick um let's make this smaller here you can see you could just paint on this area here that's where this very small brush maybe go a little bit brighter here that's too much i mean you can also adjust the opacity later on so that's not a huge problem you can see i can just paint on this and then for example i take my eraser brush and i remove the stuff that i don't need let's remove this up here fade this out a little bit like so you can see you can make the seam brighter now it's maybe too bright so you can go here with opacity and just set this up in a way that you think okay this looks good and so you can you can set these kind of highlights you can see here now this kind of seam here this kind of edge has more highlight from the lights around and so you can do this to the rest of the stuff if you want to and invest all that light so that's um but that's a slow process i'm not going to do that right now in the live stream okay pretty cool so this was a little bit of an example also what to do with the um like a quick sketch basically of what to do uh with the with the pack that i just created let's click on the link here real quick so i can show you is it popping up here no there we go this here this is what i'm talking about okay this is the pack that i just created okay and just to reiterate like the pro version has 170 different overlays which are a combination of different designs and different color variations
