and photographing like i have done this with the september of photography but that has ended now and i'm still doing it and i also kind of changed my daily schedule a little bit so at the first part of the day i can go outside photographing and then the second part of the day i come back for working on the channel which so far has been nice um yeah today i was in the afternoon though i i went uh because of this the sunny was only out in the afternoon and i wanted to have good sunlight for the uh gopro 10. so this one this here that i bought is it the right one yeah there we go this one and i'm whoa wrong side i'm really happy with this one i'm really happy with that camera uh so i'm going to make a video about that soon about the um photo ability of what it does and how it fits into like what does it bring to the table of course it's it's mainly a video camera but i think most people today also film if they make photos and if you don't maybe you should because there is a lot of things you can only do in film and well editing film today is not that hard either so you can do some cool things with that hi jens from wildfiddle thanks for joining how are you doing uh sap win from channel uh well i i think i can talk about it i want to do short travel trips and then on on these short travel trips i want to take photos and um film how i photograph and then also edit the photos and all of them is going to be one video maybe i do it once a month maybe i do it twice a month i'm not sure it's it's a question of the budget it's a question of how it is possible to travel still with the pandemic and everything but i figured out that if you make a short trip like three days four days that's enough it's not very expensive if you try to go with the cheapest flight could be a thing right that could i think that might be super interesting um to have that and it's a it's an interesting kind of concept but um i want to first of all this is gonna be on my main channel i'm not going to put that on a second channel um but i want to have a i want to have a specific uh instagram account for that let me switch over here real quick boom so i did this this is this is one of the photos from my thailand trip uh what did i i edited it today and posted it today just as a test right now the the um the channel is called oliviophlox but yeah that's not so great right it could be more interesting from the title so if you have a better idea how i could call that instagram channel i know what i'm going to call the videos not going to tell now because it's gonna be a surprise uh but uh for the channel here for the instagram thing i'm not sure how to call that because vlogs is a little bit like it doesn't say much about um uh photography right but the the it has to be simple at the same time it has to be short because on youtube i had the channel the second channel was called olivio or ollie camera adventure something like that that is super long super complicated you can't find that nobody is typing that into uh youtube to find that so it has to be shorter i have renamed the other one i think to ollie vlogs or something like that but i have to rename that again and so it has the same name as the um as this account here also you can tell me if that's even if you think it's a good idea to make that account uh the reason why i want to do that is because um on my usual channel i have the things i do in my live stream which is these pictures here and i i find it a little bit strange to mix it then you know you have these photos here which i haven't uploaded forever on this account um and then i suddenly do travel photos and portrait shots by the way i had a super good portrait shot with a with a model here in vienna uh i will also show you the picture soon um but it was just like i think last friday something like that uh so it's just very reasoned yeah that's a new one okay so let me know what you think about that let me have a look here on the tried nvidia canvas would it be a incentive to move to amd gpus to nvidia uh i don't think so actually as i think you mean this kind of ai thing where you can paint uh the pictures or something right but that is very um very basic i think is it not what is what is canvas yeah you can paint these landscapes here and then the ai fills in a landscape but that um oh you can also change the time of day for your pictures i'm not sure i'm not sure uh they look really cool here but if you paint it in on yourself you mostly get kind of not so great uh results from that i'm not sure why you would need a nvidia card for that um and not any kind of gpu because this is not specific to nvidia but um i guess because they developed it this is why they want to limit it to that but this is a very basic thing so i wouldn't like i think you would have more success and more fun with art breeder although in that in artberry you can't paint the landscape um but from what i've heard um from what i've heard nvidia is is lacking a little bit behind in the development of their graphic cards amd is actually becoming more advanced in in the graphic tools as i've heard i don't know i'm not 100 on that by the way i want to tell you something else um i have a membership now for something called masterclass.com masterclass.com um it's this one here i'm not promoting that i'm just telling you and this is uh you have like very famous people there is any any libovits liborwitz how do you how do you pronounce that and other very like hans simmer stuff like that so i made a membership for that uh so you have these like really really amazing industry leading uh like best of the world people telling you about their craft any leipovich lieberwicz is is uh talking about her photography which is is very very interesting um to to look at that um and also from from her um uh thinking about what she's saying i only watch a tiny bit of that but thinking about what she's saying and her photography looking at her pictures um this is a early work here which is a kind of a nice idea to like photograph the people from the site that are driving the car so it's kind of a serious making a serious or something gives you a lot of clarity about uh how you want to work with with things and how they what is actually in that thing rather than just taking one picture i will stop with this theoretical talk and start editing in a second don't leave i just wanted to say that i i kind of think that you know when you write a story they always say show don't tell and i have the feeling like with photography it's the other way around you should tell instead of showing uh in the sense of telling a story in instead of showing uh what you photograph and i found that also when i look at my pictures and i have a photo and it's just a photo i'm i'm disappointed by that because it's it's just a picture it's just like you that the thing that is there right and i don't like that if it's just that and when you look at her pictures a lot of her pictures not all of them but a lot of them they rather tell a story than just showing something than just photographing something right and that is not easy right to do that um uh like here for example this is a good example there's another one much more famous than this one i think you know it but he's naked on that so i didn't want to show it on stream uh but this is telling a story rather than showing just a picture of a person or two people in that case i find that a good concept for uh for for taking photos right and also maybe for editing photos right um so yeah i i wanted to share that with you okay anyways let's uh let's get started here let me switch over here so i can open up the software in between i already selected a photo and i want to play around with that a little bit uh in the meantime you can you can post ideas for what you think could be a good name for that for that instagram channel uh something short something easy i don't know um i don't know maybe i will also make a post in the in the in the group ah look at this i love the i love the 360 thing i want to post a lot more about 360 um photography look at this you can do so amazing things with the 360 camera for photography i want to make a video about that too by the way maybe you should combine the two the the gopro 10 and the gopro max um and uh 360 photography is so much more playful on what you can do with it because you can reframe it afterwards and you can like this for example was a very narrow alley like i i barely fit inside of that um and it was uh it was a graffiti it was painted on both sides and then you can zoom out really really strongly in a 360 photo and you get this kind of little planet effect or something like that and you're kind of surrounded by that art and even though the the the alley is super narrow i can have a picture of the complete wall on the other side in one in one shot and of course also the the the the um the wall behind that which is what is surrounding that that is really incredible that is really amazing i love that okay i want to do more with that and this is what i want also to post on that other channel because i still have to work through all the videos and photos i took in um oh i didn't even up open up the photo uh that i took in thailand i have not even touched that yet right that's so crazy i mean i have done i have posted a little bit of that but not too much uh this is the photo i want to work with today and to to do some creative with that right or leave you outside yeah but then you don't know it's about photography right i mean if vlog is also not about photography it's kind of hard is there a way to create photography contact sheets not that i know of not in affinity photo you can do it in lightroom it's very easy but in affinity photo i don't think there is any kind of batch processing for a contact sheet which which is kind of a pity but what you can do is just go into um open it up inside of your windows browser and set the preview to like the size you want it to be and then do the shot right make a screenshot of that and then maybe stitch together the different screenshots to make a long list if you want to have that that might be a possibility i guess um to do that right okay let's have a look at what we can do with her so i want to make a lot of her more glowing everything more like a a a a a nice scene so um yeah to select that by the way uh thank you very much that the uh um that the video for visa was so very well received that was really reassuring because i was a little bit worried that people might not be interested in that subject uh in that software because it's not affinity photo specifically but my channel never was specifically affinity photo uh so that is really good that people are interested and maybe can do more stuff like that with the nik collection maybe also with other software because there's so many good tools out there that you can use and like i always tell you um use more than just one tool um because a lot of tools like every tool can do a little bit different has a little bit different kind of a skill set right and this is created for a different kind of purpose right um so to mix them a little bit is a good idea right there we go so we have a little bit of selection here just to make the background a little bit darker like so and well why why hold back from different possibilities you could have you know and abilities you could have with um the different tools that are out there right why why restrain yourself if you have the ability to to do that and a lot of tools this is the good thing today most of the tools are very affordable too that is very nice about that in the past they used to be super expensive but now most of them are in a range that even hobbyist can afford so that's good thing whoops that was not good okay i think we are not gonna have much luck here with this um let me see i guess i'm gonna do this with a brush because this is not what affinity photo is so good at when there is like this low um contrast it has a little bit of problems with that what happened oh no that was not good um let's make the mask again i want to deselect that that's good and then let's make my brush smaller here and just like brush a little bit around that i'm not taking super long time and then i'm going to look at the chat in a second um there we go okay so like i said i'm super happy that that worked and that we can open up a little bit to all of the other possibilities out there of like let's start with nick collection right uh to to give a little bit more of perspective of the things that can be done i'm not going to like completely switch to away from the 34 of course which is absolutely not the plan most of them my videos are still going to be about affinity photo but once in a while i want to add something else uh when nick collection is a lot more to offer right and i think a lot of people were surprised by what you can do with revesa even though they have nik collection because that kind of ability of v vaser is a little bit hidden maybe and it doesn't look like it can be that uh extreme in in the way it can be used right special specifically with the raw file right there we go it's getting good here just cleaning up these little things here what does the says olivio travels that might also be good but again it's not about photography how can we how can we nudge that in there um that is about traveling and photography and still a short um short name i duplicate this whoops and call this foreground and i hope this is not going to be uh where affinity photo is making a strange kind of line now but could be let's see invert that's actually kind of good it's actually working the edge is a little bit hard but we can we can deal with that later we don't need that right now okay good uh it's a nick baked tin tin for the herch character herch what stuff here and also we're gonna do the review today of course don't um worry about that it's still coming big question is should we do this with a let's do it with a selection we could also do it with a with a like a line here you know like vector line but oh maybe one second all right steady fingers today pretty nice this is done with the mouse not too bad not too shaby okay so this is one eye um all right let's paint this in maybe let's paint some pink in here why is this not oh oh come on is the collar thing not showing up [Music] um that's not good maybe a reset color hmm okay we have a little bit of a problem here i have this recently when i use two screens that then some of the windows don't want to show up um maybe safe before it's crashing let's do that um there we go okay that's save and close and then reopen affinity photo there we go sorry that is very strange let's see if that's better now i hope so nope no colors what i feel like when i oh it's over here okay it was in the far corner of the second screen okay okay okay this is good we have saved the day there we go let's make this pink here like so uh this is the left eye and then let's make another one this is the right eye can i maybe actually um let's delete this again can i actually just copy this over save some time let me make this a little bit transparent here because the classes technically as industrial glasses should be exactly the same right move this up here a little bit stretch it a bit down a little bit perspective changes there we go good good good good all right so this is the right eye now right eye and then let's see what we can do with that okay so this is what we have so far let me see when we set this to screen and then let's have some outer glow make that also pink so that is starting to look a lot better let me see should we have an inner glow we can try that inner glow maybe with a brighter pink or a different color hmm outer claw intensity let's see let's play with that yeah okay i'm happy uh let's copy this and then go to the other eye and then paste fx so we have that now it's a good start oh we have to set this to screen 2. uh by the way we can play around with that and see if we get maybe better results from other blend modes light and screen actually i think this is kind of the best one maybe add is a little bit better let's go here and let's go with that okay good uh let's open up the effects here and then have here the fill opacity this is the fill opacity is the opacity of the content of the layer without the effects while the normal opacity is everything including the effects the opacity you find here so if you want to for example make the inside invisible um then this is what you where you go and we can try should we keep this very bright or should we maybe have a little bit more of the eyes visible kind of feel like a gradient would be better here right maybe i should have done a shape we can still paint on that though maybe a little bit opacity here like fill opacity let's go also here yeah there we go okay good so let's see what we want to do next um i want to have some more parts like this part down here this now is interesting because i was thinking maybe we can just copy the complete thing and then make that glow uh wait a second where's the chat jet is saying something hurt her kirk herch herch i don't know how to pronounce that uh what's the belch in cartoonists who created tintin oh okay pretty cool i didn't know that i didn't know his name that's awesome the world through my eyes that is a very cool title but it's um it is um it's too long wait a second i have to try something real quick where is my where's my browser window ah maybe i try that later because maybe if it doesn't work i i give something like this i think we can do a oh that was not good i think we can do a rather rough selection of this guy here because um the background is black so that shouldn't have any kind of effect when we use a light blend mode i took a little bit of the skin here that's not good let's undo that there we go okay good uh background is pixel that's good let's copy this and now we should have yes we have a layer just with that guy let's put that on top here and then we go here to screen um so far not so good let's see let's use the blend modes here i don't need the these parts so that is helping the question now is if we have a glow effect will the glow effect accept the um the blend ranges or not and let's see outer glow no it's not doing that that is mildly annoying because that is something that only happens when you use a pixel layer not with the image layer but i think we can work around that so let's do the work around here i will do a new file like this maybe we pump up the um we pump up the curve here a little bit the contrast like so and then we're going to export this export where's export there we go okay um maybe it's a png let's let's just do a jpeg for now um do it here devil okay so now that we have this technically if i import that again it should be if i find the layer if i find the folder first look look at the many look at the many live streams i've done so far so this is 2021 um is there something in here no so we can delete that layer um in 2021 alone i have done at least 32 live streams and then last year i have done all these live streams here which is how many 40. and i feel like i've done even more i think this does not include the live streams i've done in asia in when i was in thailand right so i have done even more so that's really really crazy so much stuff uh there we go so when i drag this in here technically this should be as an image layer okay but it has a white background so that's not great for us let's export this again no not place let's export this again as a png that should remove the background devil so there's the little tricks and then i hope that works let's go so that is now the devil without the background that's good and now let's see so we go now to the screen blend mode first of all we have to line that up thankfully it has exactly the same size i'm using my arrow keys for that by the way because then you can nudge it pixel by pixel and see where this overlaps is as good as possible there we go okay by the way let me know in the chat if you think that's would be a good idea that kind of traveling and photographing and then showing you how i edit these shots um and also i don't know tell some different stories about how i i make the photos because i have also this kind of gear now where i can strap the camera to my head and i can strap it to my chest so you can exactly see what i do with my camera um and i can talk about why i take the shot in a certain way right so that can be very interesting all right um uh outer glow there we go please work no that is very disappointing so that doesn't work either um why though i mean it kind of works as you can see here oh i think i know it kind of works because i think the blend ranges include stuff that we don't see right now so we have to play around with that real quick let's go like this oh there we go this is this is getting better [Music] maybe like this and then let's go in here to the effects reduce the intensity and then have more of a like a outside glow maybe different a little bit different from the color maybe we should call a pick here let's see how that works it's kind of nice but not a hundred percent um that is better that's that might be better um [Music] oh i have another idea i could put the devil uh underneath with the glow effect and then on top without the glow effect let's do that um turn it off no this looks the same that's interesting well it looks a little bit different hmm let me see i could trace the outline of the devil but um i feel like that would be too much work and too boring to watch um whoa no i don't want to have that but that's maybe that's okay right that's not too bad um we can maybe keep it like that i feel like it could be a little bit more substance in here it looks a little bit weak uh but maybe we can do that with with a contrast adjustment here let's see if i put this here and then reduce the contrast no but this is actually helping that look and then let's try this here again or maybe we should i can also just paint over that right [Music] maybe i'm going to paint in between with that color i think that might be the best solution here to get that quickly uh give me the paintbrush and then we want to sample this color here maybe this one and then let's that is too bright interestingly enough um let's take a darker one what's happening maybe i have to put that on top yeah that might be better okay um i could also by the way well that would be pretty dif like uh too complex right now but you could also do that with frequency separation and then kind of paint out that noise but let's try it like this and just see if this is kind of helping maybe i should put that below no doesn't help either let's put it down here okay interesting one second it's working a little bit opacity higher this is maybe better you can also use the smudge brush that might be also interesting let's give that maybe a try i mean maybe we can also ignore that because it might not be that visible is this doing anything no because this is locked right let's see now doesn't do anything either interesting it's doing something here let's ignore it for now it's not that important we don't see it in the final pictures anyway but now we have this devil glowing so that's good um where's the chat one second through the lens oh that sounds good what about through the lens that's a good idea ollie through the lens that sounds that sounds a little bit shady but through the lens is good okay cool gaussian blur oh that's a good idea too gaussian blur yes um although this would blur the devil itself too but we i don't think we see too much let's let's just keep that and work our way uh through the stuff up here which next i'm going to adjust these crosses here with the crosses we could try to make a vector shape let's do that just to show you so i'm going to create a rectangle as you can see here like this and then right click on that and then go to convert to curves and now it's curves which doesn't really look different but what you can do now is you can go in here to the note tool and you can move these notes around and you can add additional notes by double clicking so this is what we're going to do now let's make this transparent here and then i can simply go in here let's bring this a little bit closer so we don't have to like go crazy on moving these things around so i can now zoom in here as you can see and just add these points where i need them so for example up here and then over here and then i double click here in the middle and bring this up here so you can see already we have a part of the cross created let's go over here so that's a very simple process especially with straight lines right the hair we have to see how we fix that how we do that maybe we just ignore it um so this well let's let's see so as you can see that can be a very simple process there we go let's go like this that's good whoops you can by the way also use the pen tool if you want to just create the notes by clicking that could also be a good way to do that so um you don't have to do it like this technically okay let's maybe make this white like so and then let's see if we set this to screen that might be interesting and then of course i want to have these uh glow effects again let's go like this the chat bot is going a little bit crazy today maybe i should reduce that a bit what is the time 45 minutes wow time flies couldn't you do a go okay i've already read that let me know if i missed any of your um anything in the chat by the way right because sometimes i just don't see it and then yeah people might get angry about that let's see by the way this is another thing that's mildly annoying is that this as you can see the shape of the glow is not completely following the shape because here it has like it's kind of cramping like it's like filling up in the corner and then it's not filling up here like here it's kind of bending around the corner not not what i want it to be right i want this to be around the shape you can see even if i have just a little bit of glow this is kind of like cutting corners here you see how thin it's getting here on that tip of the cross which is not great i don't want to have that um let's see let's do a second one with outer shadow which is something you can do a radius oh we have to give it a different color you can use the shadow as um as a glow it's a little secret sauce here for you there we go maybe have this a different color maybe a little bit red or a little bit blue no let's go maybe with a little bit of red there we go maybe make a little bit brighter no that's good that's good enough okay so let's see how that looks [Music] i'm only half happy with this that doesn't really look that great um let's see it might be missing the element of dimension here so that this part down here is a little bit darker [Music] we can paint that in basically right let's do that let's give this a try um maybe we want to have a mask on that let's give it a feather here i'm not a huge fan of using that feather up there for the reason that i'm always forgetting to turning it back back but let's do it for now so let's do it like this maybe and then hmm let's maybe go like this it's a bit too small i can already see that although not too bad actually let's maybe make this a little bit larger yeah that's better okay cool can i just copy that over to the other side that would be amazing i don't think i can but you can always try we have i think maybe do we have to flip it again did i flip it the wrong way okay let's do that on a second thing here let's make a second layer here i am the king of making a million layers unless it's just safer right it's just easier okay let's go a little bit on the outside here which i didn't do there we go a little bit wider than we need to um here maybe okay let's paint on that how does that look yeah not too bad uh now the big question is where is the rest oh this is part of the cross here hmm perspectively yes it makes sense okay let's uh the second one we can do with the with the pen tool so just to show you the difference although it's a good idea um yeah let's do that okay so let's just click here click clack click there we go so this is another way to do that same thing maybe faster that's definitely faster boom there we go that should be it and then we can fill this there you go see easy so now we have another shape here i can actually copy that over so let's go right click copy and then i don't know why they don't have a paste fix right here but they don't so you have to go over here which also as you can see doesn't have a shortcut so you can't maybe you can add a shortcut that could be a possibility i think i um added it to the wrong folder am i crazy right now what's going on oh there we go wrong layer boom there we go so now she has glowing earrings we also have to make these lines here where is that there we go so this is the left cross and this is the right cross and this i think this is the right cross glow right or like shadow right cross shadow okay and then we make another one left cross shadow and then this is slowly getting into something that's looking more interesting and then we're adding some more cool effects too in a second after i have added this kind of shadow stuff here and i'm gonna look at the chat in a second where is my my color is gone um nope that's too dark well i can change the opacity let's go like this boom okay done and then this is somehow not one second let's pull this down a little bit did i use a blend mode here no uh-huh there we go better okay let's cut this here real quick good and then bring it down here make the same thing once more one second almost done here that's a bit too small but we can stretch that in a second what's happening top uh you can actually i should be able to use it as a mask also although now i'm too stupid to oh i know um you could use it with erase like so so now you can see this is like erase as a mask and that is like cutting a hole into that without um cropping that like without using the the thing up here to to cut a hole into the shape actually all right let's make a glow effect here maybe blur this a little bit to make it a bit softer there we go and then our outer glow maybe make this one blue this time let's see let's pick this blue from over here [Music] outer shadow let's do this again another one in blue we can play around with the colors in a second radius intensity okay let's play around with the color here good ah second color yo there we go so there we have the second color that on here this is apparently also affecting the mask so we have to do a little trick here which is putting that into a group and then applying the mask to the group and then this should stay um the blur should stay inside of the mask although this is giving us a little bit of a strange effect down here now um let's delete that what are you thinking this doesn't have a zoom blur okay interesting motion blur though hmm no it was kind of better before maybe let's do this without the mask it's kind of i was it was more interesting before that filter repeat the blur which it doesn't do okay interesting why though okay let's just do it by hand blur radial blur let's do this that's that looks good and make put a mask on that oh did the mask reduce the effect the mask again away no didn't
