hey creative crowd how you doing today I'm gonna show you how to create this beautiful landscape of the Monument Valley with a very nice sunset as a flat design in affinity designer my name is Olivier oh I'm a professional designer from the anima Austria and I want to thank all my patrons who support me and make these videos possible thank you very much for that and let's get started and like last time I will start by showing you some basic tricks on how to create this and afterwards we're gonna go into a time lapse if you want to see the full length video you can unlock that as one of my patrons over on patreon thank you very much and let's get started so the first thing we are going to do is we're going to select our rectangle tool and drag it out over the background and it doesn't really matter too much what kind of color we set here because we are changing the color in the end to give the mood to the landscape so the basic tricks that I want to show you at the start is let's take the ellipse tool and then hold shift and make a circle let's color this in orange in a nice bright orange like this and now what we are going to do is press ctrl G to duplicate that layer and then next press ctrl shift and drag it outwards to resize it on the center of the circle that we have done before after we have done that you can multiple times press ctrl-g and this will repeat the resize action the next thing we are going to do is select each of these circles we have created and press the number two this will set it to the opacity 20% and we will not do this for the smallest circle this will remain a hundred percent now we can select all of these layers ctrl G to group them you can see we have this beautiful Sun with is aura around it that gives us a nice shine and another trick that I want to show you is when we have the Sun and let's just draw a simple shape here a real quick so like this for example let's close this shape this is really not a final shape it's just to show you the technique let's make this a dark fill color dark brown like that and now if you want to create a shining light or a shadow what you could do is you create a normal rectangle like that and then right click and convert to curves and for example let's create a light that is shining so I want to select this color here and then I'm going to go over here to the effects of the layer Gaussian blur and blur it like that and now with my node tool up here with the node tool I can just stretch this out wherever I want to create a nice light effect so in a way that is coming from the from the Sun so it's pointing towards the center of the Sun and of course you can also then reduce the opacity to create a kind of a light shine here maybe we should change the color a little bit like this maybe but you can see that it starts to look like a shining light of course it's not kind of in the right position right now but you're getting the idea of how to create that and you can do the same with the shadow where you also position this kind of rectangle with the Gaussian blur effect just darker and overlay them the same way and then you can create a shadow that is stretching out from the Sun okay so now let's go into creating the actual landscape you
