in this video i'm going to show you how to do a variety of things with tabs in google sheets i'm going to show you how to add a new sheet how to delete sheets how to rename sheets and also how to reorder them so these are all very simple things and so this will be a quick video as you can see i already have a tab that's named line chart in my spreadsheet and let's say that i wanted to add a new tab to my google sheets workbook so there's two different ways that i can do this first hover your cursor over the plus sign at the bottom left where it says add sheet if you click this google sheets will automatically add a new tab a new blank tab now another way that you can add a new sheet is to click insert on the top toolbar menu scroll down and click new sheet and as you can see google sheets has added another new blank tab now if you're adding new tabs sometimes you'll of course want to delete them and you can do this by right-clicking on the tab that you want to delete or you can simply click the small triangle near the tab name and then click delete and then click ok so as you can see the tab that i just created has now been deleted now when you're creating new tabs you'll also want to be able to rename these tabs so that other people can see what it is that the tab represents and so to rename a tab simply double click on the tab name and rename your tab so i'm going to type notes 1 and then press enter so now i've renamed my tab notes 1 and others can now see that this tab is designated for taking notes now if you want instead of double clicking you can right click or click that small triangle and then click rename and this does the same as double clicking on the tab name so now that you know how to add delete and rename tabs you might also want to know how to reorganize them or how to reorder them to do this simply click on a tab name and hold your click and then drag your cursor to the left or to the right now as you can see i've moved the notes one tab from the right to the left and now these tabs are in different orders so i hope you liked this video if you did please like and subscribe and if you want to read the article version of this video i've linked the article below
