hey what's up everybody my name is John Hammond uh I want to bring to you one more video of Google's Capture the Flag CTF challenges video writeups and solutions stuff like that uh so here we are again I want to show you this uh in recorded conversation challenge IRC we're assuming it's operating under IRC and uh again it's ic. pcap can you find a flag really really small point value a lot of people solved it not a difficult challenge very very supposed to be easy like Google literally said this is easy in their front page so you can download the peap and that's kind of what I did uh in my terminal I'll hop on over there to in record a conversation and you can see it's just this peap that's all I really needed I ran strings on it and it's in plain text at least a lot of it is because it's IRC so you can just peruse through here and what I did is I actually ended up grepping for the CTF like the flag format CTF I look through here and since it's all on the channel the IRC Channel CTF you were able to see anything within that that channel and that message so if you read through the conversations you can say some people are saying I think Mater I don't know all right seriously I guess given the leaks it is a r flag don't you think maybe uh it but it's plain Tech so I guess five eyes will get this plag we'll get this slag before anyone else and you can see them so let's do it as a group I guess yeah so different people I guess in the in the message start to speak or type in different parts of the flag so you can see it being built here CTF suore leaks uncore rore good uncore leak underscore some flags are good leaks some some leaks are good leaks and that was the flag uh again I'm not going to build something that will put this all together for us but that it was literally just that easy it was literally running strings on it hunting forward a little bit I didn't even open up wire shark I just tried to look for Strings and found this CTF flag format and then I just put that I built that wrote out CTF some leaks are good leaks and I put that together again not that difficult that's why so many people solved it and it was only worth 25 points but a good one to have under your belt and uh another solution to the Google capture the flag CTF so thanks again for watching guys hope you enjoyed this just a simple solution I want to demonstrate it to you and I'll see you later
