Oracle Database tutorials 2:How To install SQL Developer on windows 7

What's up internet I am Manish and in this Recycle database video I am going to show you how to work on Recycle database 11g and 10g using SL developer now what is SL developer SL developer is an integrated development environment and we say a graphical tool for database development provided by Oracle itf the id is written in Java language and generally doesn't require any installation to know more about SL developer you can read this Oracle blog the link of this blog is in the video description below one more important thing guys SL developer requires JDK 1.7 and later judge make sure you have JDK installed on your system to download JDK you can go to this link this website and download JDK from here don't worry the link is in the description below you can get it from there ok to work with SL developer we need to download it so just open up your browser and go to oracle.com then Go to downloads and in the developer tools section just click SQL Developer after doing that you will be here here first of all you need to accept the license agreement just click it and accept it and choose the appropriate file from here ok I have already downloaded this file for you this must be in my directory download directory here it is as you can see it is a zip file compress file we need to uncompress it and zip it just right click and extract here I have already extracted here this is what we get after unzipping this file ok now just copy this folder and move this folder to your sql home directory and there you go find the sql home directory just go to my root directory then go to and just paste it or it may take one or may be less minutes ok now just open this folder and in this folder you will get Developer this is the file which we require so as we are going to work with this sl developer on an everyday basis so it will be better if we make a shortcut of this file on the desktop so right click it choose send to and send it to desktop and here is our sl developer shortcut just open it by clicking liking it double click it and here we are it's ok to work with our database first of all we need to make a connection to make a connection with our database just click this green plus button after doing this you will get this window in the connection name you can give whatever you want like I am going to give my sl in the user name you need to supply the user name if you remember we unlocked three users from system and hr during the installation if you have watched my installation video just go back and check it out my database playlist you will get how to unlock these user names so here we are going to connect with our user ar and The password for my HR user is HR only save this password otherwise it will not ask you for the password again every time you connect to this user in the host name if the database is installed on the same machine over which you have this SL developer then just don't mess with this let it be local host but if the database is installed on some other machine then you need to supply the IP address of that machine here that is how we will see how to connect with the server in the future video the port ID is 15 1 this is the default port for our database in the s ID this is the important thing here sIEDD is a unique identification the global database name of our database is OCl and if I say there is only one database I have created here a by the name of OC so I am going to put OCl here sorry OC and after that just it will be better if we Test whether we're gonna connect it or not if something is wrong here then we're gonna get an red color error message here but as it is showing success it means everything is fine just click connect and here we are this is our worksheet where we're gonna put our every query and try to execute it for the for this video purpose what I'm going to do I'm going to show you the user doing so just right now show user terminator and to execute the query either you can click this play button you wanna get your result of this query here in this output window and if you are a fan of keyboard shortcuts like me then you can do a control and enter you can press control and enter to execute it after doing that you will get the answer or everything is the same ts it for today guy hope you like it thanks for liking commenting sharing and watching more Off Hour Videos
