👀 ⁠The surprising ways imposter syndrome might be sabotaging your success... ⁠

Most of us are pretty familiar with the “common” ways imposter syndrome pops up in our day-to-day lives. ⁠ ⁠ Things like: dread, feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem... ⁠ ⁠ And skepticism about your talents, skills, & capabilities. 😓⁠ ⁠ But did you know imposter syndrome shows up in less obvious ways too?⁠ ⁠ Things like… ⏬⁠ ⁠ ✅ Perfectionism or when you fail to reach those goals or expectations and experience major self-doubt...⁠ ⁠ ✅ Or when you push yourself to work EVEN HARDER than everyone else so that you can “measure up”...⁠ ⁠ ✅ Or when you judge yourself for not getting something perfect on the very first try...⁠ ⁠ ✅ Or the feeling that if you can’t master something immediately (with ease and grace) that you’re a total imposter... ⁠ ⁠ ✅ Or the belief that asking for help means you’re a fraud or phony who actually has no idea what you’re doing...⁠ ⁠ ✅ Or when you put off starting anything new until you know EVERYTHING there is to know about it…⁠ ⁠ Imposter syndrome can be deceiving... ⁠ ⁠ And honestly, it never really "goes away"...⁠ ⁠ Imposter syndrome will be waiting for you at each new level you break through to... ⁠ ⁠ But what we CAN DO is...⁠ ⁠ 👏 Get better at recognizing the signs so that we can MOVE PAST IT more easily (instead of allowing it to sabotage or hinder our success). ⁠ ⁠ As you start setting goals and resolutions this New Year, you're probably going to experience some of these doubts, fears, and resistance...⁠ ⁠ But remember...⁠ ⁠ Imposter syndrome only shows up when you're expanding your limits, learning something new, getting outside your comfort zone, or leveling the F up. ⁠ ⁠ AND THAT'S A GOOD THING 👏⁠ ⁠ So embrace it.
