After gaining +10M views myself and hundreds of millions for clients, I have a pretty good idea👇 First and foremost... 1️⃣Your video concept: no matter how good the video quality is, if the idea for the video is bad and doesn’t make people curious to learn the rest - the video performance will be 💩 2️⃣Your editing & execution: the overall production quality plays a big role in the views. Not only will Instagram dramatically reduce your reach if the video quality is poor, but the audience is also way more likely to skip it; On top of this, if you are not using editing techniques that increase retention, you are in for a world of pain. Watch some of my pinned videos for examples. 3️⃣Your caption: the most criminally underrated element of a Reel. Instagram is the only platform in which captions on short-form vertical content matter. And they are becoming more and more important. Not only because of Instagram SEO (more on this in one of my recent posts)... But if you get people to read the caption, the video will be replaying in the background, gaining more views and increasing its retention and distribution. 4️⃣Your audio, upload time, and hashtags: opposite to general opinion, these things matter the least. It doesn’t matter if you post at the perfect time, with the perfect hashtags and trending audio… If you neglect the previous elements, your Reels will never go viral. Look at these elements as the cherry on top of your cake. It amounts to something but doesn’t make or break your post.
