Trump's AI Action Plan is a 'call to arms,' says Gecko's CEO
Key Takeaways
The Trump administration's AI action plan focuses on energy creation and dominance, with private sector participation and deregulation as key components, according to Gecko Robotics Co-Founder and CEO Jake Loosararian
Full Transcript
There's heavy participation from the private sector at the summit and one of those to present on stage was Gecko Robotics co-founder CEO Jake Lucerarian. You first of all let's just start with the basics your reaction to the AI action plan. It's detailed multi-pillared but what is the key component for you? >> I think the key component is it's very much all about energy. I mean President Trump has been very clear that the country that's able to dominate energy and create and unleash it will be the ones that win the AI race. And the the fear right now um before this action plan was that we weren't doing enough. And so what's exciting is that the action plan is addressing this head-on with permitting as well as a call to arms uh on energy creation. And so that's what I'm here talking about >> within energy. What is the absolute top priority for this administration to unlock the American technology stack? Well, you know, the DOE just came out about a couple weeks ago with predictions that we have about and by 2030 we'll we'll have a hundred times more blackouts and brownouts if we don't supercharge energy manufacturing or energy production in the US. And also that's partly due to the fact that we've only got four years left of remaining life of the critical assets that power the grid. And so what we're talking about is the importance of artificial intelligence and actually unlocking energy, not just being consumer of it. And so that's why you need physical intelligence data that for example that Gecko is providing to be able to fuel AI models to unlock and unleash that so that we win the AI race. >> You framed this in the context of China's capability and its capacity in energy. Why? >> Well, you know, but the predictions right now are by 2030, China will have three times the amount of generation capacity of the US. Um, now that's a really big problem. But the but the exciting news is that because we're leading the race on artificial intelligence now and because we're leading the race on robotics and physical intelligence now we have the opportunity to out innovate our way and and uh ensure that the path that we're currently on of energy generation capacity um is completely reversed. Um and so this gives me a lot of hope especially because of the executive action today. And for example, we're rolling out by 20 uh by in 2026 to 250 power plants, the products that we unveiled today um to help unlock more capacity and extend the useful life of power plants uh in the US. So it's these kinds of things that are going to be the difference maker for us winning the AI race. >> Final question is about the focus to the AI action plan being cutting red tape, deregulation. Is it it's your mind gonna work deregulating rather than proactively codifying or regulating for for support of everything you've outlined? Yeah, I think we we need an all above approach and we need to be unleashed and unlocked and I think that private companies getting more involved in energy creation is really important as it relates to ensuring that we are self-determined um in a very optimistic and deterministic view of the future which the president has outlined and also what they talked about is exporting the technology so that the AI models and the robotic technology the physical intelligence uh is led by American companies and American values opposed to led by our adversaries. Jake Lucerarian is the ghetto robotics co-founder and CEO and he's presenting here in Washington DC as part of the winning the AI summit which is hosted by the team from the all-In podcast friends of the show but also uh the hill and valley forum
