what's up guys my name is lucas and today i want to talk about how to summarize papers with python in gpd3 so a while back i wrote this article which explains how to use the openais api to interface with the gpt3 model to summarize papers and actually there's a bunch of examples of things that you can do like uh create chatbots grammar correction uh q a systems and all sorts of stuff so basically what i explained this article is how to set up this script which i'm showing you here on the left where i interface with the openai api to summarize a paper that i have on folder so the basic idea is you set up your api key uh you give the file to the paper that you want to summarize you load that paper's content using pdf plumber and and after that i just i just use this function i wrote called show paper summary where i loop over the pages in that paper extract the text and then call the api with this little call here and what's cool about this is that you know just one simple function call allows you to access the openai cpi and actually get a response so actually when i run this on terminal the output looks something like this which you're seeing here so basically this is a summary of a few pages of that paper in terms of quality you're going to have to tune the model for yourself but i would say it's pretty good and if you want to check out the article i'm going to put a link in the description and you can see exactly how i did that how you can do it for yourself how you can set that up and that's basically it cheers
