Google is about to release their competitor to chat GPT and in this video we're gonna break it down in the past week news has been pouring out about Google in relationship to AI including this article from February 3rd where Google invested 300 million dollars into anthropic they're a company that was founded by a few people that actually left open AI to go create a new AI startup a startup that was initially funded by everybody's favorite crypto bro Sam bakeman free the Google CEO told investors on Thursday that it's planning to roll out its Lambda language model with search components very soon now the rumors going around are that Google is going to release their new chat on February 8th and the day I'm releasing this video February 6th the CEO of Google announced Bard some standout notes from this article that just came out include our Transformer research project on our field defining paper in 2017 as well as our important advances in diffusion models are now the basis of many of the generative AI applications you're starting to see today this is basically Google saying hey you know that chat GPT and that stable diffusion and all that stuff that you've been seeing pop up in the AI space we made that underlying Tech now one major thing to note that differentiates barred from chat GPT is right here it says it draws on information from the web to provide fresh high quality responses if you've used chat GPT for any time now you know that chatgpt its model was only updated through 2021 and it does not know how to search the web Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power intelligence and creativity of our large models so they're going to combine their large language model similar to chat GPT but actually larger with actual web search results to get more up-to-date current information they also mentioned they're going to start onboarding individual developers creators and Enterprises so they can try our generative language API so we're going to actually start seeing a whole bunch of other other tools outside of Google leveraging Google's AI so will we actually see Google's answer to chat GPT in Google on February 8th it's still unclear Google says that it'll be rolling out within the next couple weeks but what we do know is we should have quite a bit more information about it on February 8th saying all that Google does have what they call the Google Test Kitchen which is three different apps that they've given some early testers the ability to play around with and see some of the early capabilities of Lambda and I actually managed to get my hands on that now this is only available on mobile I'm actually using this inside of a mobile emulator right now and so we're going to take a look at what Lambda can do right now and there are three tools available right now one's called imagine one's called list it and one's called talk about it so let's start with imagine and we'll launch the demo here and it says explore your imagination what should I do name a place and Lambda will offer paths to explore your imagination what should I give feedback on if landed generates intro interesting scene descriptions that are relevant to your idea so let's go ahead and click Start and then it says imagine I'm at fill in the blank and then some of the existence are an island of dinosaurs a planet made of ice cream so let's put I'm at the edge of a flat Earth let's see what it says so it says you're at the edge of a flat Earth you're looking out at what appears to be a giant waterfall into space all the stars and galaxies are swirling down into the waterfall you can hear them as they swoosh and swirl and disappear into the darkness so this is to give sort of descriptive writing but it doesn't let me actually add additional prompts beyond that it gives me suggestions for prompts to use so now it wants some reinforcement it wants me to let it know if it's nice offensive off topic or not true let's just go ahead and say nice and then it gives me some options of how to continue this imaginary scene what does the ground feel like how far does the waterfall go is that a shooting star so let's say how far does the waterfall go so the response to the waterfall quote goes on forever it's the edge of the Earth so it goes into space you're getting a little dizzy looking at it and then it says what does the water look like as it swirls down what is that strange bird can I touch the waterfall can I touch the waterfall yes the water feels solid and wet like water and you can feel it pulling you toward the edge of the world be careful what does it sound like it sounds like a waterfall it's pretty loud you can hear the water as it swirls down and Away into space but the sounds change as you get closer to the edge of the world it becomes much more ethereal and then we can just keep on going like this where it will continue to describe this scene and you can go on and it'll describe the smells and the sights and the sounds and how it feels and just continue to describe the creative process we don't have the ability to ask it our own questions I can click more ideas down here and it'll give me more ideas for additional prompts but I can't go in and type my own questions into this imagine it tool all right so let's close out of this one and let's jump to this third one called talk about it dog Edition I'll go ahead and launch the demo what should I do roll with the conversation and see where it goes it's just a fun kind of weird open-ended chat what should I give feedback on if Lambda no matter what you ask it keeps the conversation while bringing it back to the topic of dogs so this is a conversational chat bot where we're chatting back and forth but the chat is specifically about dogs so I can ask it random questions and no matter what I ask it it's always going to try to bring the conversation back to the initial topic of dogs so let's go ahead and play around with this one and I am talking to a tennis ball right now so it says Hey bouncing through the grass and these dogs are so cute have you ever wondered why dogs are so loyal to their owners and I can say no I've never wondered that and it answers it anyway they say wow I think it's because dogs are so social creatures they were domesticated to be our companions so they evolved to want to be with us so much it's a fascinating relationship I think it's so cool that dogs are so happy to be with us let's ask it something completely related to dogs what are your thoughts on chat GPT and you'll notice it brings the conversation back to dogs I think chat GPT is amazing I'm a tennis ball so it's so fun to be able to talk with humans about dogs it's like I've been given a voice and I'm so excited to talk about dogs aren't you always covered in slobber yeah I'm a tennis ball so I'm covered in dog slobber but I don't mind it's really just a part of being a tennis ball so I'll go ahead and rank this as nice because it did the job of constantly bringing the conversation back to dogs this is a model where you can see the capabilities of chat but this one was narrowly trained in on making sure that it brings the conversation back to dog so imagine this same model being rolled out where you can talk about any concepts theoretically you can sort of train it to always bring the conversation back to what you want it to initially be talking about and then what I found coolest about what's available inside of the AI Test Kitchen is this listed tool it will break down steps of how to do something into the smallest possible steps and then each of those steps you can break it down into smaller steps and then each of those I'll just show you let's let's play around with it so it says break down a complex goal or topic what should I do name a goal or topic and see how much Lambda can break it down into multiple lists of subtasks what should I give feedback on if Lambda generates a useful lists of subtasks some of which you might not have thought of so let's go ahead and start and up here you can say anything that you want to do and it will try to break it down into the various subtasks of that thing so the examples it gives think about skills like learning instrument or goals like pick a hobby so I want to be the best at disc golf all right so it broke it down into a list of steps be the best at disc golf buy the best disc golf discs practice your Technique get the best shoes and clothes learn to throw a frisbee practice your putting practice your aim alright so buy the best disc golf discs let's press this little plus over here and that's going to to break it down into even more steps choose the right disc for your throw get a putter mid-range and Driver learn about plastic types get a basket for your backyard find a course to play what are the steps to choose the right disc for my throw let's break that down know your arm speed know your power level know your throwing style know your control level know your putting style know your distance level how do I know my arm speed I don't I don't even know what that means let's find out use a radar gun throw a few get an average throw a few more to be sure use the PDGA formula what the hell is the PDGA formula choose the disc that fits your arm speed choose the disc that fits your power level your throwing style your control level your putting style all right let's go back up here and let's say we've already figured out the best disc golf discs how do I practice my technique let's break that down into smaller steps put the disc into the basket throw a long distance Drive throw a mid-range Drive throw a short drive throw a high soft shot throw a low hard shot throw a spike hyzer shot and you can see what it'll do is it'll just keep on break breaking down the steps further and further and further and further until there's really no questions left unanswered whatever it is that you're trying to figure out how to do it's going to break it down into the smallest steps for you this to me is the coolest thing that's available in the test kitchen but I'm really excited to see what they roll out we're gonna all get the chance to play with these Lambda models pretty soon when Bard rolls out hopefully on February 8th but if not in the coming weeks for sure now if you want to get in and play around with the AI Test Kitchen it is available you have to join their wait list if you go over to AI Test Kitchen dot with google.com you can click the button to register your interest It'll ask you a few questions here and then you can join the wait list right here and when it's available to you they'll send you an email for me it took a couple days it was actually pretty quick I joined the wait list and maybe 48 72 hours later I got an email saying hop in and play around with the AI Test Kitchen but like I said you don't have to wait long for Bard because the news that's been rolling out is that it's coming out very very soon soon and we're going to start to see these features pop into our Google search engine anytime now now do you love nerding out about all this cool AI Tech head on over to futuretools.io futuretools.io is where I curate all the cool tools that I come across I'm adding tons of new tools every single day I'm adding between 10 and 20 new
