i've got the most exciting book for christmas [Music] hi i'm maya the science kid i've got the most exciting book for christmas it's called three keys and this is the book it's the sequel to another book that i already had front desk and when i saw the back page that said look for the sequel to front desk in 2020 i was so excited i was like daddy can you get me the sequel and then on christmas i got the thick one and um there is so so the books are about mia tang and the stories are based off of kelly yang the authors the author's life and the author's sort of early biz early job being an assistant hotel manager and i was an assistant hotel manager and the videos about the the airplane going on your airplane going on the airplane was when i was doing an airplane flight to my grandpa's house and there he owned a motel and i was assistant manager and it's really exciting it's about an immigrant uh named mia and she goes to school and then she like lies a little bit because she wants to seem normal but then she meets a friend named loopy well that's that's her nickname not her real name but she meets a friend named loopy and she and loopy have so much in common like so many real things that are uncommon like and then they stop telling lies they stop saying that they they wear clothes like long sleeve shirts even when it's like 100 degrees outside because they live in california even when it's 100 to leave outside because they're cold it's just that they don't want to buy a lot of sunscreen so and um she wants to be a writer so she keeps entering like she keeps trying to write and keeps trying to write and keeps trying to write then one day she hears that the mattel that they're working in is about to get sold so then they do a really exciting thing where they try and get investments to buy the motel and then to like get the motel and then if they get to the motel they're going to [Music] they're going to get all the money so they buy the motel and then they make more money [Music] and then they distribute it out to everyone who invested just a little bit like a little proportion to each person who invested and they got some themselves [Music] and then [Music] in the second book [Music] three keys so just i want to show you the cover so [Music] okay so there are three main characters well two main main characters but another side main character is that a word okay it is um and so this one is jason who is the previous owner of the motel in the backs um son and she is mia the middle one with the one with her foot in the water she's mia and then this one is loopy and the story is mostly about libby so it starts out she's at school regular things happen and then she makes a little and then she makes a little club when your kids her age talk about things and then but the club is a special club so there's a law that's about to get passed and some of the kids don't want it to get passed because the law is a bad like the law is a law that really isn't helpful the law is all immigrants cannot live in the united states anymore what that's not a very helpful law and so so mia is an immigrant but her best friend luffy like she actually traveled there by foot like foot but that type of foot and she uh but mia came here on an airplane like [Music] airplane and so if the law gets passed loopy won't be able to go to school anymore because that would be against the law so then something terrible happens and that starts the start of the terrible things that follow the terrible thing like terrible thing not big bigger bigger bigger bigger that type of terrible thing so her grandma dies and her grandma is in mexico because her mom goes to mexico to try and to go bury your grandma sounds reasonable but the border to from so you can go from united states to mexico like in the book you could go from united states to mexico easily bristol but if you're an immigrant from mexico you can't very well come back to the united states so they have this problem trying to get her mom back to the united states so her dad drives down there but then they see that her dad's an immigrant too and they say hey you don't belong here and then they put him in jail literally yeah jail for like being a person [Music] yeah definitely weird i'm a person do i go to jail probably not because i'm a person but he went to and then they do anything they can to try and get her dad out of jail so they call up a bunch of um lawyers and finally they find a lawyer and that's a specific type of lawyer an immigrant lawyer and she says well you know what i think trying to get your dad out of jail is worth fighting for so she says it's free and they don't really want to spend 300 per hour to get a lawyer to get like there's a different lawyer who wanted to charge them that but this one's free and then they get all the information they can and then they go to a march like like um and don't pass the law march and then they go and they walk in the march and then finally they get loopy out they get away they get loopy joe out of they get they get loopy's dad out of jail and then she she goes and she gets to hug her dad and she's really happy and then the law gets passed [Music] but not officially [Music] so that means luffy can still go to school but still not that safe and but she still gets to go and then they turn the clavista [Music] can you see it there's a sign and it says clevis to motel immigrants welcome so then they get they turn the clovister motel into a clevista hotel motel and then there's a big grand opening and all of them go and they cut the ribbon [Music] snip snip snip snip snip i cut you no i got you i got this book on christmas i already said that but i read this book and the same day on the same night as i opened it and then another one of my books um this one i read in the same day so i read two books and the same day um actually in the same night and this one was one of them and this
