hey guys in this video we're going to uh install mongod DB onto a Linux Ubuntu machine all right it's it's a little bit trickier than installing it through Windows um but if you have experience with Linux it shouldn't be an issue uh so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to create a bash script that we can run all right so I'm going to create that in my home folder and let's see we want to create a new document and and uh we're going to call this uncore install. bash all right so let's um I'm actually going to open that from within my terminal so that we have the we can use pseudo um so let's see we're we're in the home directory now so we just need to uh I'm just going to say pseudo I'm going to use the Nano text editor but you can use whatever you want all right so we need to add some stuff here and I'm actually going to paste it in just to save time all right so basically this first line um the APT key it call it call registers the public key of the custom uh mongodb aptitude repos repository from 10 gen which is the company that created mongodb um let's see uh custom 10 gen repository list file is created containing the location of the binaries okay so that's what that is um next we're just updating our our packages and we're installing uh mongod db-10 gen okay so let's save this uh we'll do a contrl x and yes we want to save it just to verify we can open this up all right okay so now we want to run the script so we'll say pseudo bash uh do slash install do bash all right all right so I'm going to pause this until this is done it might take a minute or two all right so that installed Now the default directories um are in the let's see we'll go to the the file system in the VAR directory and then lib we should have a folder all right mongod DB and this is basically going to be the data folder for um we should also have a log file a log folder and that's in VAR log mongod B all right so that's our log folder so to start the service uh we want to say pseudo service mongod DB start all right so it says it's already running which is good so all we should need to do to get in is Type in and we're in see show DBS all right so that's it um like I said it's it was a little more tricky than um Windows just because you have to deal with uh package package managers um but basically we're at the same point now as we were in the windows system all right so that's it for auntu I just wanted to make sure I I I had both installation um videos
