want to learn how to grow your facebook group using facebook ads then stick around because that's exactly what i'm going to show you how to do step by step in this video if you've ever tried to run ads for facebook groups before then you probably notice that facebook don't actually allow you to send traffic directly to the group itself you'll actually get an error that says you need to provide a url that's outside of facebook so what do you do and you might be thinking well what if i just try using a redirect by putting a special redirect on my web page using prettylink or using something like bitly the bad news is that doesn't work facebook looks all the way through the redirects sees that the link actually goes to your facebook group and it won't let you run that either well the good news is there is a way to do it that is 100 compliant with policy and that's exactly what we're going to dive into now so here's what you need to do first if you enjoy this video all that i ask is that you smash that like button below it really does help the channel a ton and i really appreciate it when you do that if you want to hear more from me hit subscribe hit that little bell to get notified whenever i release a new video on facebook ads and digital marketing for course creators and coaches so the first thing you need to do is create a landing page and on that landing page you're going to promote your group so this landing page is going to be all about your group now here's an example from taking more i'm not affiliated anyway this is just a great example and it's a really good group so check it out if you want to like i said no affiliation but this example shows how taki is using a landing page to promote their group so it just talks a bit about the group and tells people why they should join that's what you want to create for yourself and you can see there on that page there's actually a call to action button when you click that button the button then needs to link directly to the group over on facebook so set up your landing page link it directly via that button over to the group on facebook so that when people click it they go to your group okay so once you've got your landing page you need to go in create a new campaign set it to link clicks then at the ad set level simply set up your targeting as you normally would choose the countries that you would like to target set the interest that you want to target or lookalikes depending on how you're targeting and then you also want to set your daily budget just as you usually would then you go down to the ad level and you want to create your ad now the link for the ad that you're going to use is going to be the link to your new landing page that you just created so the ad when people click it's going to send them to your new landing page now you can see an example here from taki this is the ad that they're using to go to that landing page that i showed you earlier and you can see an example of what they're doing here it's simply an ad that promotes the group and tells people hey you're invited to come join the group if you fit this criteria this is what you're going to get from the group click here to come and join when people click they go to that landing page when they hit the landing page hopefully they click that button they go to the group and they join the group really is as simple as that now here's a really quick tip for you when people join your group you can add some questions what i would do is ask them for their email address and also ask them if you have permission to add them to your mailing list and explain you know would you like to join my mailing list where i'll send you the best tips on x or where i'll send you whatever tell them how frequently and they can put yes or no in that box now that means that if they do that and they say yes you can send me emails you can add them to your email list and then you can send them emails on a regular basis so not only are you growing your facebook group but it can also be a way to grow your email list as well so there's a little bonus tip for you there now remember if you've enjoyed this video all i ask is that you tap that like button below if you're a brand new beginner to facebook ads and some of this stuff that i went over when a little over your head like the campaign set up and all of that sort of stuff make sure you click and watch this video because that's going to give you a complete start to finish on how to set up and run facebook ads and if you want to learn just the targeting piece and how to choose great interest check out this video here and i'll walk you through that whole process as well hope you enjoyed this one talk to you soon bye
