so exactly how long does it take to rank a brand new page in Google I've got some answers and we're starting right now if you want to transform your website into a customer or lead generation machine I'll show you all my best tips tactics and secrets to get there fast let's dive in hey guys I'm West McDowell web strategist for the deep end and if you're not subscribed to the channel yet go ahead and click that subscribe button and the Bell icon next to it so you never miss another video you need to succeed online so one thing that comes up over and over again and I'm talking to clients is they always want to know how long does it take from the time that you put up a new page or a new article how long does it take for Google to find that page and then start ranking it in the searches now honestly there are many factors at play here but there are some general benchmarks and some ways to predict how long it's gonna take based on your own site so the biggest factors here are site age and site Authority so generally speaking the more established your web site is the less time it's gonna take to rank content and it can rank higher income school did a recent study where they tried to figure out how long it would take the typical article or landing page to reach its full ranking potential now this study isn't to say how long it's gonna take to rank in the top 10 or to rank number one because not every piece of content is ever going to get there to be honest so what we're looking at here in this part of this video is how long it's gonna take any piece of content to get to 90% of as high as it's ever going to get so they basically found three things they found it for brand new sites putting up a new page that content took about 35 weeks to reach almost as high as it was ever going to get and for a moderately established website that same content would take 25 weeks to reach the 90 percent mark and for well-established sites you're looking at more around 18 weeks ok so what about for top 10 rankings so obviously not everyone can be there for any given search only 10 articles or pages can rank in that top 10 so basically a hrs did a recent study where they found that the average page that their ranks in the top ten for any given search was right around two years old and what about for those pages that actually ranked number one well most of those the average age is right around three years old so you might be wondering you know that sounds like kind of a long time how do I get there a little bit faster so there are two ways you can actually help get there faster and the first way is to go after less competitive lower search volume terms so to do that you can start adding what we call keyword modifiers to the keywords you want to rank for words like best or top or the current year and the second way websites with an overall stronger backlink profile tend to be able to rank faster and higher so my best recommendation here takes a little bit of time but we are going to want to start doing is creating regular content with lower competition for keywords and lower search volume keywords so you're gonna create these kind of articles or videos or whatever the content is on a regular basis and then you're gonna want to start creating backlinks to all of those articles as well as to your home page and what this is gonna do is it's going to start increasing your site's authority over time now I recently did a video about how to create quality backlinks and if you haven't seen that video you can get that one right up here or if this is something that you probably would rather outsource I might recommend that it takes a lot of time and effort to do this there's a company that I use personally that I recommend called the Hoff and I'm gonna leave a link to their website in the description below alright now I hope that shed a little bit of light on the question of how long it takes to rank but now I want to hear from you and I want to know what your biggest takeaway was from this video so I want to know all about that or any questions or comments you have just leave it in the comment section below I look through everything and I will answer every single question that I can alright and if you're not subscribed to the channel yet you're definitely gonna want to not miss out click the circle icon right down here to subscribe and if you haven't accessed my free mini-course yet how to guarantee website ROI you're definitely not going to want to miss that one so basically you can get that by clicking this box right over here all right guys I'm West McDowell for the deep end I'll see you in our next video
