hey everyone I have a quick announcement for everybody WP friends is now open for beta now what is WP friends well it is the first social networking website dedicated to WordPress users and the WordPress community so basically if you want to talk about Elementor or Divi or beaver builder instead of going on random Facebook groups you can do it all from one place now this is the landing screen that you'll be brought to and if you go just click on register right here you can make a free accounts and of course there's nothing pain on this website everything is free to join so here you entering your username your email your password and everything else you can kind of go through this and just register and then we brought to the activity page now in this video I'm gonna kind of show you all the actual overview show you some features about it and kind of give you my opinion about why you should not be using Facebook anymore I know that you're watching this I know people out there don't like using Facebook but they use it anyways so I'm gonna talk to you about why you should switch over to the WP friends so I have an account right here I'm gonna make my this is my account right here so I'm gonna go ahead and log into my account right here and we have over 500 members and we've only been open for maybe two days that's pretty impressive pretty impressive so this is the Activity Stream now you will not have this black bar up here this black bar is only for admins so do you want to have that back-end stuff that WordPress does you won't have that so it's a little bit cleaner a little bit nicer you know so this is the website you know right now we have over 520 members we have regular speakers so josh hollow speaking in four days you have wordpress points you have a feed right here and people can talk about WordPress related stuff you know right here this guy posted something about WordPress I posted right here about the Jupiter theme switching over to Elementor right here this person is talking about WP Hastie I've no idea what that is right here at all about or a vote about what's the best WordPress builder and it looks like Elementor is leading barely ahead of Divi so there are a lot of people talking all this stuff and engaging it's also really really cool it's it's an amazing website I'm really proud of it now there are some features that you can do on this websites that you can't normally do on other websites so first off is our blog is a community blog meaning that everyone out there gets a chance to write for WP friends so if you want to talk about something related you can go ahead and write a blog now before we go any further about this there are some very strict guidelines here guys so before you start to go on the website and start posting stuff please read the Community Guidelines yeah I don't want to do the banhammer on anybody but I don't want to hear anything about your your products or services if you sit there and say you're a developer for hire no you go to a group and you do that you can do that on groups so over here under groups we have a whole Pacific section if you want to advertise your product or your service you know there's a lot of groups right here you just join a group and talk about whatever you want to talk about you can make a group like you know developers for hire or whatever but please don't spam guys come on let me have admins you know we're really trying to keep this a nice place okay so anyways back to the blog so you can make a blog post now must be 500 characters and you know you'd upload a featured image you can talk about anything you want and then also people have the link back to your personal profile which in there you can add your website so if you want to offer services or something you can talk about on your website but don't make a post on it not just yet okay so we're still working through that also yeah again Community Guidelines so there are some things that you are and are not allowed to talk about so you know I'm about a Facebook really quick I'm gonna go to Facebook and what's this right here a political a political thing I don't want to see that all right another political thing John and Ken about charge are crazy California governor climate change I don't want to read this stuff I don't want to read it it's toxic it's it's it's it's I'm not I'm not here to see that that's why we created WP friends calm how many times you go on a Facebook and you hate it I hate it too I think it's just a toxic platform where everyone just goes at each other's throats and then people push like politics or they push like gender disqualify WordPress I don't want to get involved in another and everyone else's stuff so that's why you've seen a dramatic fall on Facebook I'm sure you've seen a lot of your friends disappear in fact if you go to my account my personal account I have only one friend and I deleted all my friends and I told people are gonna delete it and I only have it to manage my Facebook fan page so I don't like using Facebook I just I feel that it's just it's just the wrong platform for me but I do have a WV friends like a page on there so it's kind of hypocritical but anyway so again we have groups we have a blog post we also have classified ads as well so if you want to reach out to someone and you know say hey guys I'm working for something I'm looking for developer I'm looking for this you can go ahead and post a classified ad it well it's free it lasts for seven days we do have premium services though that lasts for up to 30 days and you can advertise your specific product or your service there next we have the Dunphy shop and for everything that you do on the website you get points so you get points for commenting you get points for a messaging you get points for just revisiting the websites and we will be having designs for Divi and Elementor and possibly other things so we're gonna have layouts we're gonna have layout packs all this stuff that you can actually purchase with the points just for active just for being active on the website so we're giving back to people who you know and guys we're not gonna do those Envato elements those layouts we're not doing those those free layouts we're doing some really top-of-the-line best stuff and you'll see it you'll see it you'll see the difference of quality you look at this and be like I want that layout you know so we really have some of the top designers out there working to make some really really really nice layouts for you that are really competitive and you're really gonna like it and you can also answer a question let's say you have a question about WordPress you can go ahead and put a question right here about something and we will go ahead and respond to that or someone in the community will go ahead and respond to you so again it's a really great website you know just in about one or two days we have over 500 members and you know everyone's engaging and stuff so be sure to read the rules of about to be friends calm the only thing that we're really worried about right now is spam and we haven't actually had any cases of it we had one case we had some guys saying hey guys I'm a full sack developer or hire me put his website and my guys we don't allow that yet that's just yet now you can always advertise that stuff in the classified ad site should under paid or you can make a group form so that that's two ways to do it but nobody here wants to be sold to people like to buy but didn't want to be sold
