Key Takeaways

The evolution of tech interviews from pen and paper to AI-powered evaluations, highlighting the core challenge of finding good candidates amidst changing methods of evaluation, with tools such as online assessments and telephonic interviews.

Full Transcript

Tens of years ago, the way you used to evaluate candidates used to be on pen and paper, right? People used to write here and you used to evaluate. And then came the advent of telephonic interviews. I mean, I got my first job at Amazon reading code through the phone. Hashincclude, IO stream, wild one, do this. It was not a fancy phone like this. It was um Nokia 1100 or something like that. And then you had test centers. People used to go to a central location, [music] used to verify your ID, have all of the secure cam and all of those things. You used to take them in the test centers. And then came online assessments. We certainly pioneered a lot of that. And again, if you look at the arc, you'd find that the core need of wanting to hire great people has not changed. Only the method of evaluation has. [music]
