So, after watching this video, you'll be accepting credit card payments from all around the world. So, if your goal is to launch a Shopify store today, then make sure to watch the entire video. With that said, let's get started. Let's first go to step one. There is a link in the video description. This link will let you sign up to Shopify for free and it'll also give you 3 months of Shopify for just $1. How about that? So, let's [music] get started. Okay, so once you click on that link in the video description, it'll take you to this page here and you can sign up for free. So, you'll go ahead and put in your email. Then you'll click on next. On the next page, you'll put in your email, your password, and then you'll click on create Shopify account. On the next page, it'll prompt you to enter in your credit card details, but we can skip this for now. So, here at the bottom, I'll click on skip. Next, it'll ask us where we want to sell. And here I'll just select an online store and click on next. Next, it'll ask us if this is a new or existing business. I'll just click on new business and click on next. Next, it'll ask us what we want to sell, but I'll just click on I'll decide later and click on next. Lastly, you'll give your store a name. So, I'm going to put the Wilson shop and click on finish. Okay. Now, before going any further, the first thing we need to do is verify our email. So, you're going to check your email account and you'll get an email from Shopify. Make sure you verify your email address. So, right here, I'll click on confirm email. All right, cool. So, now our email address has been verified. Now, the very first thing that we're going to do is we're going to adjust the theme of our store. Now, real quick, I want to close this AI builder. We'll talk more about this a little bit later, but you can turn this on or off by clicking on this logo here at the top. But for now, I'm going to close it and let's go over here to online store. Now, a Shopify theme is essentially the look and feel of your Shopify store. If you want to view your store right now, here I'll click on view your store. And this is an example of what your store looks like right now. So here we have this banner, we have some demo products, and then we have a sign up form at the bottom. Now, if you want to switch your theme, let me show you how to do that. Let's go scroll down here at the bottom. And then here we have popular free themes. Right here, I'll click on visit theme store. Now, Shopify offers a total of 24 free themes to switch from. So here we have a list of variety of free themes that you can go ahead and import on your store. If you want to use one of these themes, for example, I like the trade one. I'll click on the trade theme and then at the bottom right I'll click on try theme and now it's installing the trade theme on our store. Now going back to our Shopify dashboard if I scroll down you'll see that this trade theme has been installed. Now I need to publish it. So I'll click on the publish button and then publish this new theme to my store. Cool. Once I do that here I'll click on the view your store and voila here is our new theme installed on our Shopify store. But if you want to go back to the Horizon theme, we can actually go back down and under Horizon, we can actually switch back to the Horizon. So here, I'll click on publish and publish. Now, there's one thing to note. If you do all the work on one theme, it's saved under that theme. So, if you build your store and you switch themes, uh you're going to have to start over from scratch. So, make sure that you do pick a theme that you like from the start. So, next, let's talk about how to customize our website using the theme. Now, over here, we have this edit theme button. Let's click on edit theme, and this will turn on the customizer. Okay, so this is the interface for Shopify and this is where we can build our store. Now, before we jump into the editor, let's just explore some of these options. Now, here at the top, this is where you can navigate to different parts of your websites, like different pages and also the cart and checkout. We're going to customize our product and collection page a little bit later. On the right side up here, you'll see that you can adjust this for mobile and also see what it looks like in a full screen preview. So, if you want to adjust the size of the screen and see what it looks like for different devices, you can adjust that. They also have this new thing called Sidekick. Now, this is an AI tool, and we're going to come back to this a little bit later. I personally wouldn't recommend it to build your store. It doesn't really do a good job, but it is helpful if you want to make products and categories. So, I'm going to close this. On the left side, you'll see you have elements. So, here we have our header, and then you can see elements within the header. If I click on announcement bar, I can now customize the specific elements. And every single module with Shopify has their own styling options. For example, here you'll see I can make this full width or page size. We can adjust the thickness, padding, and a few other options. Now, when I click on another element, you're going to see that I have different options for each specific element. Now, here I can actually collapse these to hide everything else. Now, what's also really cool is I can actually rename these. So, if I click on this and click on the three dots and click on rename, I can just rename this to menu, right? Because this is actually our menu. I don't know why it's called the header. So, I'm going to enter in menu. Click away. And then if I click on back, you'll now see it changes to menu. And that makes a lot more sense. So, this is our header section. And below that, we have our hero section, which is our main hero image on our website. And then below that, we have the footer section down here. And when I hover over it, the screen will actually bring us to that specific section. So let's scroll up here and let's adjust our homepage. Now I've already created another Shopify store over here and I'm using the same exact theme. So here we have our logo. We have a split screen effect. And then here we have some text. We have our collections which are essentially your product categories. Below that we just have some more upsells regarding our products. And below that we have our products right here in a really nice clean format. And we've also integrated this quick ad where I can just quickly add it and then it's added to the cart. So, I'm going to walk you through how to create something like this in this video. So, I'm going to walk you through how to create a very optimized Shopify store in this video. Now, the first thing that we're going to do is upload an image. Now, I have demo images for all of you. You can access those images in the video description. So, right here for media 1, I'll click on select. And then here, I have images in my Lita library. Now, in order to upload your own images, you'll click on add files. And here you'll see that I have this Shopify folder where I've included all these image. So, if you click on one image and you hold shift and you press down, you can actually go ahead and upload all of these to your Shopify store. And you can use these images to follow along in this tutorial. So, I do recommend you upload them. So, once you upload them, you'll see that you have them available right here. And I'm going to select this one with the woman holding this basketball and then click on done. And that's now going to change my hero image. Now, if you want to have a split screen effect, very similar to what I did right here, all you got to do is add in a second image for media 2. So, I'll click on select and I'll select this guy here and then click on done. Next, I want to change this heading text. So, I'll click on the heading text and then we can adjust our heading text here. So, I'll go ahead and change the text. And below that, we can adjust the layout. So, if you want this like uh very long, you can go ahead and change the max width. Then you can change the position of this text here on your landing page. Now the next option is typography. Now what I recommend to do here is adjust your presets before building your store. So right here I'll click on theme settings. And here are the fonts that we can use to adjust our store. Now these fonts right here are very generic, very ugly. So I do want to adjust this. So for my body I want to give it a little bit more taste. So I'm going to select SF Mono. This is the one I chose for my demo store. So I'm going to select this one here. Now, what this is going to do, it's going to change a lot of the smaller text, but it's not going to change the heading text. So, I'm going to use a different font for that. The subheading, I'm going to leave this as enter. And also the asense, I'll also leave that as enter. However, for the heading, I'm going to select my own. So, I decided to select bayon. And once I do this, all the heading text will adjust on my website. So, here I'll click on select. Now, if we scroll down through rest of the websites, you're going to see now it looks a little bit different. it adds that little sports feel to it. So, I feel like that font really works well for my store. So, you're going to select a font that works good for your store. And once you do that, we can move on. So, next we're going to scroll down and here we have heading one. Now, this is optional. You don't have to do this, but if you want to adjust the heading size for each specific H1 and H2 and H3 tag, you can do that right here. For example, for the H1, I'll make this a little bit larger. I'll put 88. For the uh H2, I'll go ahead and put 72. And then I'm going to slowly make this a little bit smaller here. So the H3, I'll leave this as 32. And I think that's good. So I just want to adjust those fonts. So now when I actually design my website, I can just refer to the presets. Next, let me show you how to adjust the color schemes for each section on your website. Now here we have colors. Now you can apply these color schemes to each individual section of your websites. Now I want to apply a color scheme to this section here. So, I'm going to click on color scheme 2. Now, for this section, I'm going to change my headings to white. So, here we go. I'll change this to white. And the text as well, I'll change this to white. Now, once I scroll down here, you're going to see primary button. Now, I can change the background color for this, right? So, for example, if I want this to have a white background and black text, I'll go ahead and change the text here to black. Okay. Now, we can't see what we're doing right now, obviously. So, what I want to do here is now apply this color scheme to this section. So we can actually visually see the changes being made. Real quick, I'll go ahead and click on save. So to apply a color scheme to a section here, I'll click on this hero section and I'll click on hero. Now we're going to scroll down and on this section you're now going to see appearance. So I want to apply color scheme 2 to this specific section. So now we're applying color scheme to this specific section. Now here we have an overlay color. Notice how it's a little dark. So I want to get rid of that overlay. So here I'll go ahead and just reduce the opacity. And there we go. Next, I want to style the button for this landing page. So to do that, I'll click on color scheme. Then I'll click on edit. And all I got to do is change the background for the secondary button. So here we have the secondary button. And here I'm going to put a white background. And there we go. So now we can adjust the background for that button. So, now that we've made our landing page look really clean, if you want to add elements in between these sections, all you got to do is click on this plus right here. And then here we have a list of elements. So, I'm going to select text. And then here we have some text. And then obviously we can click on this and then you can add a little bit more about the text. So, I'll go ahead and change this to something else. And then once I click on the text module, you now see that we can fully customize the text. Okay, cool. And if you also want to adjust the size of the text, you can always go into the presets. And if you don't want to use the presets, you'll just click on custom here. And then you can change the size of the text. So now that we have a really nice looking landing page, now let's adjust the logo of our website. So up here at the top, I'll click on Wilson Shop. And we need to edit the logo in the theme settings. So I'll click on theme settings. And here we can upload a logo to our store. So for the default logo, I'll click on select. And I'm going to select this one right here, Gear Grove. Click on done. And look at that. We now have a logo on our store. It just makes it look a lot more official. Right now, we also need to upload a favicon to our store. A favicon is the icon that appears at the top of the browser when people visit your store. So for favicon, I'll click on select. I'll scroll down and I'll click on the Gear Grove again and click on done. Now, if you want to adjust this menu bar right here, we can click on the menu bar and click on menu right here. Here we can adjust the logo position, the menu position and also adjust the color. So for example, if you want the logo in the center or in the right, you can move the logo around and also the same thing here for the menu as well. If we scroll down, you can turn on or off these elements. So this is the search icon. I do recommend to leave these on because they do make your store a lot more optimal. Below that, we have some options for the menu where we can make it compact or standard. And you can browse through these options and adjust them. Next, we have the color scheme. Now, I mentioned before how you should make each row their own color scheme. So, I'm going to select row one, and we're going to use this as scheme one. And then here, I'll click on edit. And now, we can design the actual background of the menu. So, for example, I'm going to change this to something like like darker. Now, notice here how it's also changing these other sections. And that's because they're also using scheme one, but uh I'll show you how to fix that in just a bit. So, you can go ahead and select a specific color scheme here to fit your liking. I'll go ahead and select something like this, uh, like a very subtle gray. So, here I'll select gray, and I'll just reduce the opacity of it, like a very soft gray. There we go. So, now we have a really nice subtle gray on our websites. Now, I also do want to get rid of this announcement bar. I just feel like it's just not really needed, right? It's taking up a lot of space and it just it's just a very weak text, you know? So, I'm going to go ahead and click on the announcement bar and click on remove. So, next, let's go ahead and talk about how to add in sections. So over here I'll click on add a section and this is essentially where you can add in sections. Now Shopify has a weird way of showing the section. So if you collapse banners and if you collapse collections and you scroll down you'll actually have more elements here. So I guess that's a glitch or something. I'm not really sure. But uh what I want to do here is I want to select the marquee. Okay. And there we go. So now we have that marquee there just like our demo websites. And if I click on this, I can always adjust the text here on the left side. The next thing I want to do is add in a new section. So I'll click on add a section. And we're going to click on collections this time. And I do want to insert a collection list grid. So I'll select collection list grid. Essentially what this is is categories. And what we're going to do is we're going to basically add in a categories a little bit later and they're going to propagate here automatically. Now for the rest of these sections, I want to change the background to white. So before going any further, I'm going to click on one of these sections here and adjust the color scheme to three. And then I'm going to actually edit the scheme three and just change the background to white. Okay, so this one's going to be white. And also this section here, we're also going to make this section white as well. So I'll change this also to three. I would just use like uh you know three is like the body of your website, right? And then also here I'm also going to change this to scheme three. There we go. I've seen many tutorials on YouTube and a lot of guys who make these Shopify tutorials, they completely ignore the color and the fonts because they do find it difficult. But once you implement a system, you can adjust the colors and fonts really easily on your Shopify store. Now, the last thing I want to do is adjust our collection grid. So, I actually want to add a border to this. So, what I'm going to do here is click on the collection card and I'm going to turn on solids and we're going to add a little bit of border here. So, I'm going to put in like three pixels of border. And what that's going to do is that it's actually going to add a border around our collection. Very similar to our demo website. So, over here, if I scroll down, we have this really cool border. And we can display our categories here in a really nice format. And the last thing I want to do is just add in one quick section. So, this is going to be another upsell. We're going to scroll down here and just insert. We're going to insert this image with text. And then I can just go ahead and adjust this. Right. So here I want to sort of showcase my other products. So I'll just click on this basketball one. Click on done. And then here we can talk about our signature products. Now scrolling down at the end here, we have products. And these are just placeholders for now. So once we add in products, they will automatically propagate right here. And at the bottom right here, we have our footer. And we'll come back to the footer a little bit later. Once we create privacy policies and tooss, we will add them here to the footer of our websites. So overall, we have a really nice clean landing page that we made in just a few minutes. Let's go ahead and save it. Here at the top, I'll click on save. Now, you'll also notice if we click on mobile, we can actually preview our website in a mobile device. So, let's go ahead and scroll down. And as you can see, it looks really clean on mobile device. Now, we can actually adjust some elements for mobile devices, such as this button. If I click on this button for bubble width, I want to change this to full width. You know, I like this better just because it's easier to click on. Right. Scrolling down, we have our products here. And then we have our footer at the bottom. Next, let's talk about how to create collections and also products. So, I'll click on exit. On the left side, I'll click on products. And before we create products, let's create collections. Now, collections are essentially categories for your products. So, here at the top right, I'll click on add collection. And this will be sports products. Next, I'll click on add image and add an image for this product category. I'll select this baseball glove and click on done. At the top, I'll click on save. Let's click back on collections. Now, this is where the AI is actually useful. We can actually ask the AI assistance to create collections for us. So, let's do that. Create me one collection for sportsware and use this image. And then I'll go ahead and upload this image. I'll select this one here and click on done. Then I'll run this prompt. You will then see it created the collection and it actually did it much better than us. It added description, SEO title, SEO description here. I'll click on preview and then I'll just click on save. And if I click on collections here, you're now going to see sportsware. So, I do believe the AI system is actually really good at creating categories and sometimes products. I'll go ahead and create one more using the AI. Awesome. Look at that. And now created our categories for us. Let's go over here, click on products, and click on add product. Now, we're going to create a product. So, for the title, go ahead and put the name of your product. I'm going to put baseball glove. Below that, we can add in some AI description. So here, I'll go ahead and click on generate text and then I'll put normal baseball glove. For the tone, I'll put playful and click on generate. Here, I'll get rid of this. You can also choose to add in video and images in your product description. Below that, we have media. Now, this is the featured image that represents your product. Then, I'll select my baseball glove. Below that, we're going to insert the price. So, this is going to be $30. And here we have compare at. You can actually put a compare app price. So, this is basically a sale price. So, normally it shows $40, but it's going to be on sale for 30 bucks. Scrolling down here, we can choose to add the quantity of the actual product. So, I'll just put that we have 20 in stock. If you don't want to show the quantity of the product, you can check this box and that will actually hide how many products you have in stock. Below that, we have shipping. Now, here I'll go ahead and click on the packaging and click on add a new package. So, you can choose a package type. You can also put the length. So, I'm going to put box, I'll put 16 by 12 by 12. And we're going to select inches. And for the weight, it's going to be about 1.5 lb. And for the package name, this will be apparel. So, you can create presets for your package type, such as box, envelope, and soft package. So, here I'll click on add package. Now, if this is a digital product, you can actually turn this off, and that'll actually take away the shipping option. But if this is a physical product, you might want to leave that on. Here we have variance. And we'll come back to this a little bit later when we create a second product. Now, when we upload an image, what's really cool is that the category meta fields are automatically filled out with AI. So, here we have color, handware, material, age group. Here we can put in like teen or something, right? Teens. Here, I'll select teens. And uh yeah, you can add in like more meta fields for your products. Below that, we have the SEO. So this is the SEO description for the baseball glove. If you want to update the SEO description, you'll click on edit and then you can edit the SEO description for each individual product. Next, let's go ahead and scroll up. So here we have product organization. Now type is essentially another way on how you can categorize your products. A vendor is where the actual product comes from. Collections, we're going to go ahead and select the sports apparel and maybe even sports products. So we created these earlier. So, every time you make a product with Shopify, you can now add them to your collections. And below that, we have tags. So, I'm going to put brown, glove, and baseball. Tags are essentially easier ways for users to search and navigate through your store. So, if they type in something like glove, then this product will be displayed. So, after we select all those options, let's go ahead now and publish the product. So, here at the top, I'll click on save. Now, let's take a look at our product. Here, I'll click on preview. And here we go. So now we have a really nice dedicated product page for our products. Now there are some tips I want to give you. For example, over here we can actually insert media. So here I'll click on insert media and you can add in banners like 40% off or something or you can sort of you know entice the buyer to buy something. I'll also go ahead and put in some bullets. So here I'll put bullet and then I'll just add in a few bullets. Next I'll click on preview. And now you can see it's a lot more encouraging, right? We have this big 40% off. We have all these upsells and I believe adding in a little bit more description can really increase conversions for your Shopify store. Next, let's create another product with AI here. I'll click on products and we're going to click on add product here at the top right. Next, I'll open up the AI assistant and I'll just ask it to create a product for us. Here, I uploaded the image and I typed in create a product that's called sports jacket. Now, I do believe that this actually does speed up the process. They do actually create some pretty descriptive titles and description for products once you upload the image and just give it some description. So, let's see what it makes here. Here we go. Sports jacket description. Everything's good. I'll go ahead and click on preview. Everything has been automatically propagated for us. Alls I got to do is adjust the price. So, here I'll just adjust the price. And then we have to add in quantity. So, here I'll put in that we have 10. And then I'll click on save. Next, let's click on preview. And here we go. Now, we have that sports jacket. So, the AI is pretty useful when creating products with Shopify. And lastly, let's create a variable product. Now, if you have a product with multiple variables such as size and color, let me walk you through how to create one. So, here I'll click on add product, and then we'll create a variable product. So, I'll go ahead and fill this information out. So, I added in some description for our shoes. Now, let's go ahead and add a price. So, the price is $50, and I'll put that we have 20 available. Scrolling down, we're going to add in some variants. So, I'll click on add options and I'll select color. So, here we have white. I'll click on the color and we're also going to select brown. Okay. Then I'll click on done. Next, we have add another option. And I'm going to select shoe size. And what we're going to do is I'm gonna put something like nine, 10, and 10.5. Then I'll click on done. Next, I'll scroll down. And now we need to add the prices for the variants. So here we have white. So what do the white shoes cost? Well, they probably all cost the same, right? But we first need to add the image for the white shoes. So here I'll add in the white shoes. And then we'll also adjust the inventory. So, I'll put that we have 10 of these sizes and 10 of these. And we can adjust the price for each variants, but I'll just go ahead and collapse this. Then I'll also do the same thing for brown. And of course, we can adjust the price for each of these, but I'll just put that we have 20. And then over here, we have 20. And then over here, we also have 20. And this one can cost like $100 or something, right? Just just to mix it up. So, if you have products with multiple variables, like t-shirts with different sizes and colors, this is how you can create variable products. Now, once you add in those variants, we can scroll to the top here, and all we got to do is just make sure that we add this to our collections. So, I'll put sports apparel and sports wear. Then, I'll click on save. All right, cool. So, now let's take a look at our shoes. And here we go. We now have Wilson sports shoes where we have different colors, different sizes, and we have our description. Now, currently, right now, it's unavailable, but once we actually visit the website in a different browser, we can actually add these to the cart. The next thing we need to do is now add the collections to our homepage. So under the online store, let's click there and then we're going to edit the theme. So click on edit theme. So now that we created collections, now let's update the homepage. So we want to change this to our collections that we created. So I'll click on the uh the background and under collections, we will then select our collections. You can also adjust the type. So you can change this to grid, bento, or editorial. And you can adjust the columns and also the gap on your collections. But I do like this look. So I'm going to go ahead now and save it. Next, let me show you all how to customize the product page and also the collections page. Here under products, I'll click on products and let's click on default product. Now, this is the default template for all of your products and we can actually update this and design it. Now, under the template section under this arrow, this will show you a list of all the elements on your specific product. But what I can do is let's say, for example, you want to add reviews. I'll click on the plus elements. And if we scroll down or here, I will collapse these. And we're going to find product, right? So, we're going to go ahead and find product. Here we go. So, we have product card, product inventory, review stars, skew, and swatches, and all these things you can add. I'm going to add the review stars. Okay. Okay. And the review stars were added. Now, you can't see it, and that's only because there are no reviews for this product. Now, let's say, for example, you just wanted to add a regular element. So, what I'll do is I'll go ahead and click on the plus, and I'll just add in our logo. And I'm going to take this logo and I'm going to put it above the product title. So, that way they can sort of see our logo when they're shopping on our website. And we can make this a little bit smaller. And I think that looks good. Now, they can always see our brand when they're shopping on our store. So you can go ahead and fully customize the product template right here in the product editor. But let's go ahead and click on save. And next, let's talk about how to design your collection page. So up here, I'll go ahead and select collections. And then also click on default collections. Now, this is the default product category page for the categories on your store. They're also referred to as collections. I mean collections, categories, same thing. Now, you can fully design this page as well, and you can also add to it. For example, I'll click on add section to templates. And then I'll just put in the marquee. So I'll click on marquee. There we go. And then I'll click on save. So you can fully customize the product category pages. And this will reflect all the category pages on your website. Next, let me show you how to customize your drawers. Now, I know that sounds weird, but if I hover over the carts and we click on it, you will now see that we have this section. And we can actually customize the color of the background and also the text and also the button. Now, you can't do this through the editor. You have to do it through the theme settings. So, under the theme settings, we have to scroll over to drawers. And here we can apply a color scheme. Now, I do recommend to create a new independent color scheme for this specific section. I'll click on color scheme 8. And I'll scroll down and click on edit. Now the background here is controlling the actual backgrounds of the actual uh section. I'll go ahead and click back. Now the text that's referring to this text here and then also the primary button is referring to this primary button. So that's how you can customize the side cart on your Shopify store. Next, let's talk about the general settings. So let's exit out of here. I'll click on exit and let's now scroll to the bottom and click on settings. So here are the general settings. Now, the first thing that you should always do in the general tab is to fill out your business information. You want to make sure that you put your address, your city, your state, and also your zip code for your business details. If we scroll down, you also want to put the unit system and the default weight units. You can also insert your time zone, and then also there's a few order processing options. The next is the billing. Here you'll see an upcoming bill for your Shopify store. Below that, we have users. If you want to assign specific users to do work on your store, like add products or build your websites, you can actually add new users right here. Now, there are other options you can check out, but let's talk about the more important ones. So, at the bottom, we have policies. Let's click on policies. And here we're going to write our policies. So, here we have a refund and return policy. We can go ahead and click on this policy. And Shopify will insert a template for us. You also want to make sure that you update this with your address. So, go ahead and just take a look at this. Make sure that this is up to date with your refund and return policy. Once you update this, you'll then click on publish. Next, we'll select our terms of service and click on insert template. Now, for this template, you just want to again browse it and fill out your information. So, you want to put your business name, your business address, and also your phone number. So, make sure that you do review this and update it for your business. And once you're done, you'll click on publish. And the same thing for shipping policy. And this one you have to manually type in. All orders shipped after 1 to two days. Expect to receive products in 7 days unless there is an issue with the post office. Here you'll click on publish. And lastly, we'll fill out our contact information. And then you want to make sure that you update this contact info. Once you're done, you'll click on publish. Next, if you want to offer returns here, you'll click on manage. And you can select the window of when you allow returns. So I'll put 14 days. Is there a restocking fee? I'll put there is a uh 10% restocking fee. Scrolling down. And we also have final sale items. So if you're selling something like food, you might want to have those as like final sale, right? They can't just take a bite out of an apple and return it, right? Uh you can also select specific products. So if you do not want uh some products to be returned, you can say these products cannot be returned. Once you're done, you'll click on save. Next, let's click on tax and duties. Now, Shopify automatically integrates their shopping tax services to automatically calculate the tax for you. Now, scrolling down, there might be some options that you may need to select. For example, charge sales tax on shipping. Some states in America actually charge sales tax on shipping. If you go over to Tax Jar, I'll leave this article in the video description. They do actually have some states. So, states where shipping is taxable. And here is a list of states. So, in California, it is not subject. So, I'm not going to select it. But if you are from one of these states, then you would select that box. If you want to override the tax settings, you'll click on one of the locations where you're from, and you'll click on collect a new states, and then you'll go ahead and select the states, and then you can enter in your sales tax ID, and then you'll add in the shipping overrides. So, here you'll go ahead and enter in the new tax rate for your states. So, that's how you can override the tax just in case you're subject to special tax rates. The next thing we'll do is go over here and click on locations. Now, you want to make sure that you fill out your location. This is important when you calculate shipping and also taxes. So, just make sure that you enter in your shop name and then also your address. Once you fill out that information, we can then move on to shipping. So, on the left side, I'll click on shipping and delivery. Now, the first thing I recommend to do is to delete the international. If you are going to ship to every single country in the world, well, you would leave that checked. But for most people, you're not going to be shipping to every country in the world. So, under the three dots, I'll click on delete. And then I'll click on general shipping rates. So, first, let's add a shipping rate. Now, you might actually see international rates. And I do recommend to delete those. Once you delete that, you'll need to actually add a rate for your shipping location. So, right here, I'll click on add rates. And we're going to put zone name. We'll put USA. And we're going to type in United States. So, here's United States. Now, obviously, you're going to select the shipping zone that applies to you. And I'm going to select a flat rate. And then I'm going to put $10 and click on done. All right, cool. So, now we have a $10 shipping rate for products on our store. So, at the top, I'll click on save. Now, this is like a fallback, right? This isn't really practical. I think many of you watching this realize you can't really charge shipping for all the products the same way. So, instead, we can implement shipping costs per product. Let's do it. Here under the product section, we'll click on shipping settings and then I'll click on create a custom profile. Now this will be something like sports apparel and then for the add products we can now add any product we want. Now in my specific case I just you know put like a category but you can put fragile products, you can put heavy products, you can basically create categories for shipping. And we're going to add a shipping zone. That means where can this product be shipped? And we're also just going to select United States here. We'll click on done. And then we'll add a rate. Now, we can use a flat rate, but we can also use a carrier or apps. Now, since we're using Shopify, you get discounted rates from Shopify. So, if you use FedEx, you can go ahead and select whatever applies to you if you are using FedEx. Um, you can go ahead and just select done. And then your customers and your customers will be charged whatever FedEx is charging at that time. You can also do it yourself by just saying, you know what, I know what it costs to ship my products. So, for example, the heavy products or the So, for example, the sports apparel products, they're going to be charged $5 for shipping. Okay, so to sum it up, the sports jacket will be charged a rate of $5 and any product that we add in this category will be charged $5 for shipping. I do recommend to do this for all of your products. That way, it's a lot more accurate on the shipping cost for every individual product. So, here at the top, I'll click on save. Now, before we jump into payments, there is a quick reminder. Since we added all of the policies on our website, I do recommend that you add it to the footer of your websites. So, over here, I'll just go ahead and click on the plus and find the policies. So, here, policy links. And there we go. Now, we have the terms and policies on our website. So, they can view all the policies for our Shopify store. Now, the last option is to integrate payment methods. So, here we have payments. So, I'll click on activate Shopify payments and click on next. Next, you'll fill out this information if you're an individual, a business, or a nonprofit. So, once you select your option, you'll click on next. Here, you'll put in your first name, your last name, your birth date, and then your information. And then, if you are a US resident, you will enter in your social security number. This is required for tax filing and verification. So, I'll go ahead and fill all this out. Next, you'll enter in your bank statement. So, this is the store name and the phone number you'll need to enter here. This is required if users have a problem with their order. So, you'll want to put your store name and your phone number. Then, you'll click on next. And lastly, you'll just submit this for verification. So, at the bottom, you'll click on submit for verification. Now, I do also recommend to activate PayPal as well. So, here we can actually integrate PayPal. Next, I'll click on activate. And then lastly, I'll just enter in my information. All right, cool. Then I'll click on return to Shopify. Okay, so now that we verified our information, we now need to select a plan to start accepting payments. So here I'll click on select a plan. And here we have four different plans. Now, if you're just getting started out with Shopify, I think the basic plan works best for you. Again, it's only going to cost you a dollar for the first three months. So under the basic plan, you'll click on select basic. Then you'll fill out your credit card information. You'll see on the right side, you're only going to pay $1 today. So, go ahead and fill this information out. Once you fill it out, you'll then click on subscribe. After you subscribe to Shopify, it'll then bring you back to your dashboard. Now, we need to unlock our store. So, here you'll see this unlock store button under the dashboard. You'll click on unlock store. And then, here we have a password for our store. Now, we want to take off the password protection. So, that means anyone can visit our store. And here we want to put a page title and SEO description for our store. This is essentially going to appear in the Google search result. So make sure that this is very accurate. Below that we'll input below that we'll put our below that we'll put our homepage title SEO and the metad description for our Shopify store. Now if you need help with SEO description, I definitely recommend to go to chat GPT. For example, here I put create me an SEO title and metad description for my Shopify store. I sell sports products for all ages in USA. And if I run this prompt, it'll actually give me a title and metad description for my website. So I can use uh this title right here and then I can use this as my metad description. So AI is really good at creating metadescription for your Shopify store. And all you got to do is just go ahead and copy this and paste it onto your store. And after we fill that information out, we'll then just click on save. And congratulations. Now your store is available for everybody. So I'll click on view store. And here is our Shopify store. And as you can tell, it looks clean, modern, and professional. And we can go ahead and run a test transaction. So here we have our items in the carts. We can pay with Google Pay, PayPal, or pay with credit card. Here, click on checkout. And then users can enter in their contact detail, their address, and they can pay with credit card, PayPal, and Google Pay. Now, another option I recommend to adjust after you purchase your plan is to go to the brand options in the general settings. So, under general, you'll scroll down and then you'll see under store assets brand. So, I'll click on brands. Now, whenever someone buys something from your website, they're going to see branded emails from Shopify. And I do recommend to design these a little bit. For example, we can add in our logo. There we go. And then also, we should add in our primary color, which is like this kind of red. And our secondary color is this gray. I think that there we go. More gray. There it is. Okay. And then also we should add a cover image. And then you can add a slogan and a short description. And then also add in your social links. So at the top I'll click on save. And let me give you an example of what this looks like. So they'll receive branded emails from Shopify and they'll display your store in a really nice clean professional format. And the last step is to now add a custom domain. Now if you go to your Shopify store, you're going to notice that you have a really ugly domain that just doesn't look professional. And let's be real, no one's going to be able to find your store with this kind of domain name, right? So, let's go to Shopify. And under the general settings, you're going to see domains. So, let's click on domains. And then we'll click on buy new domain. Next, you'll enter in the domain that you want to buy right here. And you'll click on search. And if this domain is available, Shopify will let you know. So, this domain is currently available. So, I'll click on the buy button. And then, I'll buy this domain. So, I'll go ahead and fill this information out. Then I'll click on buy domain. All right. Awesome. So we just purchased our domain. So I'll click on see domain status. Now right now it's propagating and this process might take anywhere between 1 to 24 hours. Once Shopify is done propagating this domain, it'll automatically be reflected on your domain for your Shopify store. And after waiting about 20 minutes, you'll now see that the domain is now connected. So if I go to this domain, you will now see it's my new Shopify store. So congratulations party people. If you have any questions about anything related to Shopify, let me know in the video description.
