Serverless 101: Preparing for modern application development - CS50 Tech Talk

AWS Serverless technologies are changing the way developers design and create web applications. From startups to enterprises, developers are building production ready applications without having to provision or manage the underlying infrastructure to support them. Companies like CapitalOne, iRobot, Taco Bell, and Netflix rely on AWS serverless to power their online businesses. In fact, Amazon builds over 50% of all new applications using serverless. With more and more companies migrating to cloud and a serverless-first approach to application design, companies are seeking developers with the right skill set. In this session, I introduce you to serverless. I discuss the concepts behind the technology and introduce you to the services that are the building blocks of modern applications. Finally, I build a simple application to demonstrate the speed of prototyping that is possible with serverless. At the end of this session, you will have a basic understanding of serverless technologies and event driven architecture. You will also be provided resources to continue learning about serverless and how to start using it in your current and future projects.
