Hey, I'm Nico and this is Runway this week. This week we were very excited to announce the next edition of Gen 48, the ALF edition. Gen 48 will run from the 23rd to the 25th of August. You can either register as an individual or as a team. However, note that all participants have to register individually. All participants that register will also receive 200,000 credits for the 48 hours of the competition. This is the ALF edition, which means that we will be looking very closely at what team will use ALF the most effective and creative way to tell their story. As always, stories and narratives are the winning recipe for Gen 48. And aesthetics, they're great. We love to see them, but they have a second priority here. Ellie was the winner of the second edition of Gen 48. It featured a very unique narrative that evoked nostalgia for classic video games, standing out among all of the other traditional shorts. Aloof offers precise control, which could be useful if you choose to create a more gamified narrative experience similar to Ellie. In the third edition, Unveil introduced a piece titled So Much for a Piece of Blue Sky. For this story, Unveil recorded footage in Paris using their phones, which was then stylized with video to video. This concept and process can reach completely new heights with ALF. In a similar vein, this week's community spotlight, we wanted to showcase a work by Tomaso. Tomaso went out into his hometown, captured different footage on his phone. As we can see, he manipulated, added, removed, and changed the world around him for some really cool effects. This is a concept that is definitely worth exploring for this Gen 48. We really would love to see people just grab their cameras and film the world around them to incorporate it as part of their narrative. This brings us to our daily Discord challenge. For those of you new here, we have a Discord where we run daily challenges for you to participate in. The challenge for today is very fittingly preparation.
