what's up everybody it's your boy nate and today i'm gonna be doing a reaction to the cyberpunk 2077 cinematic trailer so the reason why we're doing this is because video games are a huge inspiration to filmmaking and just exploring creatively with new mediums and most of my favorite video games tend to be ones that have a strong aspect of storytelling and just really pushing the boundaries when it comes to what you can do with technology I don't know if you guys have ever played games like Uncharted and Final Fantasy those are like my all-time favorites because to see that a game could take me through a story in which I'm not only interacting with the media but also being able to sit back and watch some sort of really dope cutscenes that make me cry this is what it's all about so right now we are getting into it one of the most anticipated video games on my list that's right it's cyberpunk 2077 yeah let's go I got the laptop here because I'm gonna be watching it and you're gonna see me reacting to it alive and all the little things that I pick up in this trailer so let's pull up it on YouTube okay so we have the trailer pulled up let's watch this BAM okay yeah this looks beautiful we get a super gorgeous really well lit scene of a city it looks like set sometime in the future definitely looks like there's all kinds of dynamic lighting going on across the buildings across like little moving flying cars it looks like and we get this first intro shot that kind of cranes down from these flying cars to this car on the ground which has all these bullet holes in it and wow this is so amazing cuz the cameras just moving all smooth and just one nice one cake introducing us to someone who I either think his name samurai cuz that's what his back tag says alright let's see the lighting in this already is is something I think whoever directed this scene did really well because we have this contrast from these really strong Reds and these blues and everything looks like it's set in the future cuz it's all bloomed out and really beautiful and then on top of that we can even see the reflections of these neon lights inside of this guy's metal arm oh my good okay okay I'm gonna pause it right here cuz this is a shot that I'm just so impressed that they're even able to pull this off but all of the details in this beard you can see that he has little gray beard hairs just randomly strewn about and then even that the texture of the beard hair is different than the texture of his dreadlocks and his eyebrows and you can kind of just tell that because the way the lights interacting with it it looks super convincing down to where they even have the slight translucency of hairs off on the edges that you can see with these highlights yeah I'm just blown away right now it's oh my goodness wait okay and if you look even closer you can see there's little pores and like skin spots on side of the skin texture this is just yeah this is amazing all right let's keep playing this trailer yeah they're just coming hard with it because they're able to tell so much with just these close-up shots of the face which normally when you're doing something in 3d if it comes to communicating emotion through a facial expression and you want it to like hyper-realistic you're gonna have to do all kinds of things like add pores and add differences in the texture and do something called subsurface scattering which is even mimicking like underneath our skin that shows up differently in the light and they're doing all of this just flawlessly down to where they're even impressing me that they're even able to stylize these characters to where they have these accents of metal so I'm assuming that everyone in the futures is some sort of cyborg yeah this is amazing oh shoot that was so sick they did a match on action cut right there that's what it's called whenever you have something that's exactly the same action and then you cut on that action to somewhere else in another scene doing the same action so with the hand right here he goes in there to wipe off the the blood on his hands that even stretches and now he's wiping his face and you can see the stretching of his skin there this is all my goodness yeah huge props to the team at CD Projekt RED for even putting this together this looks like such an amazing 3d work in itself and to imagine that some form of this is going to be interactive in the videogame it just blows my mind yeah look at the details I'm I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that most of this is done through motion capture because the animations look like yeah they have all the details and everything looks super fluid and normally if it looks this good it's probably motion captured with actors and then a few little details added on to where probably this extension is yeah this robotic extension will be animated by someone else afterwards oh shoot and that's the end of the trailer just like that and that was a pretty short trailer yeah all of the little details are just so amazing oh no no it's still going on okay now this is an entirely different scene it looks like we're in a junkyard now we have another cyborg come up babe oh my gosh it is Keanu Reeves holy [ __ ] yo that is so sick he didn't even have to say anything and you can tell his Keanu Reeves just because they did the 3d model of him so well and the texturing is on point he looks like he's coming straight out of a John wick poster oh my goodness and then even when he takes the glasses off you can see his hair get moved away by the glasses this is just so amazing yeah all the details in this just has me blown away I'm super excited this game is not coming out until 2020 but I really hope that they have more trailers and
