The video discusses the development of Cody, an open-source AI coding assistant, and its inspiration from Google's internal development ecosystem, specifically Google Code Search.

Full Transcript

I had previously uh you know done a brief stint at Google and Google has an amazing internal development ecosystem and sort of like the the centerpiece The Shining Star of that ecosystem was uh this tool called Google Cod search what Google code search provided was the ability to search across the entire uh monor repo inside Google and navigate the code so you didn't have to set up any kind of like local development environment to be able to jump to definition or find references and to me that was sort of like the bread and butter of what I did day-to-day as as an engineer and so um I started thinking about how could I construct a tool uh like that but outside the the confines of Google
