June Odongo is an innovative entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Senga Technologies, a logistics software and services company in Kenya catering to businesses that ship in Africa. In this conversation hosted by Christopher Capozzola, Senior Associate Dean for Open Learning, Odongo will share insights on learning, entrepreneurship, and the role of open education in upskilling and in changing the world.
June Odongo is the founder and CEO of Senga Technologies (https://senga.co/), a Nairobi-based startup streamlining logistics and supply chains for the formal retail sector, starting with Africa. June previously worked in some of the world's leading technology companies, including Hewlett Packard, Dell-EMC, and Cisco Meraki, in engineering and business leadership roles. June resided in the US for twenty years, before moving to her native Kenya to start Senga. June holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and a Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. She is also the founder of ZOO Memorial Foundation (https://www.zoomemorialfoundation.org/), a non-profit that provides computing education to underserved Kenyan communities.
Christopher Capozzola is Senior Associate Dean for Open Learning. He oversees open education offerings including OpenCourseWare, MITx, and MicroMasters, as well as the Digital Credentials Consortium, MIT Digital Learning Lab, Digital Learning in Residential Education, and MIT Video Productions. A faculty member with more than 20 years of experience at MIT, he is committed to teaching and is a passionate advocate for open knowledge communities at MIT and around the world.
As part of his work with MIT instructors, he participates in the MITx Faculty Advisory Committee, the OCW Faculty Advisory Committee, and the Learning Management System Advisory Committee. Together with the Office of the Vice Chancellor,
