Create a Study Abroad Application Form Online [Tutorial]

Would you like to create a study abroad application form? Well, let me show you how. Hey Jotformers, welcome back. I'm Kimberly and like I mentioned, if you are looking to create a study abroad application form, you can absolutely do that with Jotform. There's actually a lot of different ways that you can get started. So, just pick the one that's going to best fit you. Now, first out of the gate, you can start in the bottom right-hand corner, right down here where it says ask Podo for anything. We can ask him to create us a study abroad application form very simply and he'll do that. But, some other ways you can get started are in the top left-hand corner. If I come up here to create, I'm going to choose form. And then down here, if you know the exact questions that you want to be on this form, definitely start from scratch. So, that gives you 100% control over what your form is going to look like and include. Now, if you have a paper form that maybe you have been using, you've been sending out, people have been printing, filling it out, bringing it in, you can turn that paper form into an online form. All you have to do is choose the document to form option. You'll upload that PDF and it'll automatically map the fields from your paper form into an online form for you. Or you can use templates. So, let's go ahead and see what the template option has. I'm going to do study abroad and let's see what pops up. So, we have one right here. If we scroll down, we see study abroad recommendation form, a scholarship inquiry. Lots of different ones that you can choose from. And this is going to give you a really good jumping off point. So, if you need to get those creative juices flowing, definitely check out our template gallery. But for this example, I am going to use Podo. I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to type in right here, create a study abroad application form. Now, if you want, you can maybe upload a PDF, maybe it's a requirements the requirements to apply, that way you ensure that you get the right questions on your form. Maybe there is a link on your website that has those requirements. That'll give Podo everything it needs to create your form for you. So, let's go ahead and create a form. Now, as you saw, I didn't give it anything. I just said, "Hey, I need a study abroad application." So, let's see what it comes up with. In this mode, it's going to go ahead and start listing out everything. Perfect. Good deal. All right, our form is ready. So, you can see we have full name, date of birth, email, phone number. We have lots of good things down here. One thing I don't see on this is I don't see a space for us to upload a resume or a CV. So, what I'm going to do is I am going to ask Podo. Let's go ahead and ask him to do something for us. Can you add a field for them to upload and one good thing about Podo is if you don't spell something correct, he'll still pick up on it. Upload their resume or CV. So, if you are brand new to Jotform and you're not really sure how it works, using Podo is really going to take out the how do I use this? Just let Podo do everything. Podo can also have conditional logic. So, if they choose one thing and you want it to hide certain fields, just tell Podo what you want it to do and it'll do it for you. So, here you can see that upload the resume or the CV. Now, simply on the left-hand side, if you want to add in anything else, we have basic widgets for you to choose from, lots of different options. Um and here is a file upload. So, if you want them to upload something else, just drag and drop it in and change that from file upload to whatever it is that you are looking for. We also have specific widgets. So, like right here up at the top, camera capture. So, if you need them to take a picture of something, maybe it's artwork that they are doing, you can have them do that as well. All right, I'm going to actually jump to the settings tab right up here. Now, one thing that you can do is you can have some integrations set up as well. So, if you would like for all of this data, and especially if they're uploading a resume, if you want that resume in a PDF copy of their form sent to third-party cloud storage, you can absolutely do that. We scroll down, you can see right here we have Google Drive, Dropbox, Box. You can absolutely add in there, so that way as soon as someone fills out the form, it's going to automatically go to Google Drive for you. We also have workflows that'll kick off something. So, as someone comes in and they fill out that form and it meets specific criteria for you, you can approve or deny, and it can go through lots of different complex or even simple processes depending on how you need it. But, if we come up here to the publish option, all we have to do now is just ensure that this is a public form if we want to share this on social media or through the appropriate channels. All we have to do is copy this link and send it out however we see fit. Maybe you want to put this on the website or we want to send this out to all of the parents or, like I mentioned, put it on social media. You can absolutely easily share it by copying this link and putting it exactly where you need it. All right, let's go ahead and give this a test. I'm going to come up here to preview form. And I'm going to come right over here to fill form. This will give us some dummy data. I'm going to go ahead and give us an actual name. And as you can see, as I scroll down, again, just some basic information so that way it fills those text box in. I'm going to go ahead and choose a PDF that I have. Perfect. We'll go ahead and submit that application. Perfect. Let's go ahead and turn off the preview. I'm going to come here it says form builder and I'm going to jump over into tables. This is one of many places where you can see this data. We can go ahead and open this up. We see all the information. Perfect, including that resume right there. And it's as simple as that.
