i've been coming since 2005. i've taken about 23 courses this is a i want to say my sixth time here and look forward to coming every time it's a really good immersive type atmosphere when you come to one of these and there's especially the larger conferences the learning a lot is is definitely what the sans experience is all about learning something that would take many many years to do but you're able to do it here in a very reasonable and measurable amount of time it really has given me a solid foundation to work on and each layer gives me more information i can plan a day-to-day basis with what i do typically when i go back to the office i have pages of ideas that we can implement right then and there how we can apply the concepts we learn right to work right away my inspiration for the courses one is i'd already taken several sans classes at that point i expected to be great and it was yeah it's it's it's a lot of fun and i think the key thing too is the networking that you get at sans to be able to talk to other industries or meet people all over the world just reminds me of my days being in the military just having a good time and learning a lot and sharing perspectives the tips techniques um and actual knowledge of the course is going to directly translate monday when i'm back in the office you know your return on your investment for coming to class is immediate sans has such a wide breadth of courses and coursework you can go through that will assist you in understanding the technology and it's taught by professors and folks who are world renowned in their fields they actually have a very in-depth knowledge from practical experience it's not something i think you get in a normal university setting amongst other people other people in the same field with you the instructors the other people helping out with sands it's just tremendous and that helps you that carries over for years
