What is Micro Context?
Micro Context is the semantically-relevant topic on a page that helps connect the Macro Context with the related topics. Micro Context is also called supplementary content on a page that helps to connect with other topics that are semantically and contextually relevant to the primary topic or search intent of a page.
Micro context section is used for contextual internal linking to closely related topics from our Topical Map.
Google Patent; "User-context-based search engine" explains how search engine assigns Macro and Micro contexts labels to each information/query/source/audience in its database.
This Micro Context concept is from Koray's Framework.
Micro Context serves two purposes:
1. Funnel optimization: It shows the readers the closely related topic to move one after completing a particular page's main content or primary focus. Every information page is required to connect back to our monetization source so we optimize the funnel from informational to commercial pages.
2. Internal Linking: Through micro context, we connect the closely related page through contextual internal linking. This contextually-optimized internal linking helps both users and the crawlers to move on to the next page.
