let's design your landing page to maximize your leads and grow your email list timestamps below along with some other helpful links and resources including a link to grab a copy of all of our funnel templates for free now what makes the design and creation of your landing page different than all the other pages on your site is that it's designed to do one thing and one thing only with no external links and that is collect contact information that is it so the more we focus on that and the better our overall conversion rates will be and in order to get more people joining our email list as opposed to not we're going to use a simple framework called ada it stands for attention interest desire and action and so we're going to grab attention with a compelling headline that lets people know they're in the right place promises as a result lets them know what's in it for me and then of course most people need more information than the headline and this is going to be where you're going to build some interest around what you're offering with a picture of your lead magnet and a couple of bullet points that gives more information on why this lead magnet is so important and awesome for them then we're going to of course create some desire using either some media seals some trust seals some testimonials or just a self quote if we don't have anything else on that list and then of course we're going to collect the contact information that we need to follow up with leads and grow our email list and that is all there is to it to designing a conversion hungry ready landing page let's go through each one of them so first we have our headline and our headline needs to clearly communicate what's in it for me and why the heck am i here and you only have eight seconds so eight seconds max we need to communicate that someone is in the right place and we also need to make sure our headline is congruent with wherever they came from right so if you were running an ad promoting a workout or diet plan you wouldn't have a landing page that talks about how to bake a cake right we need them to be congruent and obviously that's a really silly example but you do want to make sure that whatever you talk about in your ad or wherever they came from is the exact same that's talked about on the landing page nothing new congruency is really important here and when it comes to the design itself you're going to want to make sure that you have no more than two fonts on your page and you want to keep your colors to a minimum so in this particular example our headline reads start crafting compelling sales copy in the next 15 minutes and you can see with the colors our headline is an accent color we have our three bullet points are an accent color and then the accent color is also used for our button for our call to action and this is about as much color as you need because you need your headline and your button to stand out and so if you have too many colors then it's confusing and people aren't going to understand or see the elements that they need to first because we need them to see the headline and then see the call-to-action button and the rest is not as important so that could be a separate color that kind of blends in with the background if you aren't just using a plain white page and black text so i think i spent a little too much time on that so let's move on when it comes to how to actually write your headline to make sure that people are interested in what you're offering i'll link up in the cards in the description to a super deep dive guide that goes through all different types of copywriting formulas for your headlines your bullet points and even the rest of your funnels as rest of your funnel as well here what you'll see in our headline is we say in the next 15 minutes this is something that's really important irrespective of what you do with your landing page everything on the page needs to communicate an immediate result so as you go through designing this you'll see the design is very simple and then after that it's a lot of copywriting and what we found is talking about a time frame that they're going to break through a roadblock that they're struggling with or achieve a specific result in this case it's you can write even if you don't have any sales copy experience and we handle that objection of i don't know how to write sales copy because we say you can do it in 15 minutes and you can use whatever time frame makes sense here's another example where the time frame is 45 minutes because that makes a whole lot more sense if we said you could build this in 15 minutes well everyone knows that it's going to take much more than 15 minutes to put together a google ads campaign but saying 45 minutes that's a lot more reasonable in terms of saying hey this isn't going to take you hours we're going to be able to condense this down so keep that in mind it's a great way to quickly grab attention and build the value of your lead magnet and speaking of your lead magnet leads us into the interest part and so most people are going to need more information than just the headline right if we just had a headline and a picture in a opt-in form that would be a squeeze page and we would be done but because this is a landing page we're going to have some bullet points and possibly some quotes and testimonials and so with your bullet points you'll see here in this particular example we are just reinforcing the headline our first bullet addresses the concern of how much it would cost to get new subscribers and promise they will get subscribers consistency consistently then we eliminate the roadblock of having to do hours of research and reinforce the headline promise of this being fast and then finally with number three we remove the hard work of figuring out what type of video to promote by promising to give them an easy solution and so with your bullet points you want to think about all the reasons someone wouldn't get your lead magnet what is everything in their head saying oh i have to do this i have to learn how to do that or i don't have this set up just think of all of those objections all those roadblocks real or perceived that are that's holding them back from taking the action they need to be successful and just address them so again link in the cards in the description to a full-blown copywriting guide that goes through lots of bullet point formulas but that's all we need to do with our bullet points and then when it comes to the picture of our lead magnet believe it or not all of these pictures were actually made in google slides because i never have time to make real graphics and i'm not a graphic designer but you can also use the free version of canva to actually make mock-ups so this is another example landing page and all we did was create a cover in canva and then put it on a 3d image of a book and voila we have our facebook ads on it now for the third part of our high converting landing page design when we're creating desire it's much more about the person who's visiting the page and their experiences versus talking about how awesome the lead magnet is so link in the cards in the description to a full-blown lead magnet guide if you're not quite sure what to offer for free lots of great ideas and things to test so ideally here we would have some sort of media appearance logos we'd have some testimonials maybe we have some trust seals or certifications and if you're like most business owners and entrepreneurs you don't have any of that because you're just setting this up for the first time right or maybe you have some testimonials and they just don't work with whatever you're offering and so you can totally quote yourself so here is a really basic formula you can use to essentially quote yourself and add a human element and the key here is addressing the experience of your visitor and empathizing with that experience of struggling with something or trying to achieve something and it taking longer being harder than they thought and so as an example here is a self quote that we have on our sales funnel playbook page and all i do here is address the challenges that someone who's a funnel builder faces and presents the playbook and template as an easy solution to overcoming this challenge this technique also works really well if you're trying to position yourself as an authority or expert in your field and finally we have our call to action the whole point of this page now of course you can ask for a lot of information here you can ask their first name last name their you know their business address their phone number their size their budget but when it comes to lead generation growing your email list you only need one piece of information that's the email address obviously you can collect everything else later in your sales process so to maximize the number of people who get into your funnel minimize the amount of information that you ask for up front so the general rule of thumb is the more information you ask for the lower your conversion rates will be so there we go so when it comes to upping your conversion rates and having a conversion ready landing page just don't ask for the information yet because you don't actually need it you can always collect that information when it's time to actually make the sale or you're booking a strategy call later on down the road so as a general rule just ask for the email if you really want the name because you want to do something fancy with your your email autoresponder adding their name to subject lines or in the messages okay awesome but after that you really don't need to ask for more information than that and your call to action button needs to be a clear distinct color from most of the other elements on the page so that it stands out and it's really clear exactly what someone is supposed to do once they've hit your page so hopefully this ada framework attention interest desire action helps you design your own landing pages can you add more elements can you add more bullet points or more testimonials absolutely but as you saw in the beginning with the conversion rates of these types of landing pages you really don't have to be super fancy with your design as long as you have these core conversion elements you're ready to go to start converting so hit that like button subscribe for more guides just like this one check out that link in the description to grab a copy of all of our funnel templates and until the next keep building the business you love [Music] bye
