Teaching is NOT in EASY MODE!!!

is teaching on easy mode I see this joke all the time across social media YouTube is on easy mode pictures is on easy mode well the reality is YouTube is not on easy mode if anybody show you is on easy mode St live and trust me I know cuz I've been around a while and YouTube is not on easy mode and if anybody tells you that teaching it's on easy mode they have also LED so we're going to talk about that today hi I'm the one to see with two classroom and today we're talking about teaching being on easy mode teaching is not on easy mode but teaching doesn't have to be on difficult mode what I mean by teaching doesn't have to be on difficult mode if you are a veteran teacher like I am then you've learned over the years that things are not always easy things sometimes go a right and teaching has totally changed in the 20 plus Bally 25 years that I been teaching from when I started teaching have shifted completely from come to work do your work go home of course I was younger and gay more and had more energy but teaching has shifted we are expected to be responsible for so much more yet we've not been given very much more pay we expected to do so much more test schooles have become the be all in all our students are being taught less at home they being disciplined less at home and they're coming to school with us a angry and so we have to deal with the emotional problems deal if somebody didn't tell them they loved them yesterday we have to be that light we have to lead with love let them know that we love them we care about them that we see them that we hear them that they are important and they are and we do see and hear them and we do love them we have to remember that that is our why why we went into education to educate children but to also impact the future by letting these students know that we do care love them we do care and we do love them so teaching is not on easy mode with all these new mandates that are coming down from our Departments of Education whether it's at the state level Federal level whatever level it is teaching is not easy we have to try to follow those rules and regulations we have to get our students to a certain level well I'm coming off the butt end of when we had this certain thing that went on in the world that hindered our students education they haven't quite recovered from that we're bouncing back but we haven't bounced all the way back if you cover that with students who were already behind then it's like fighting un impossible battle so we have to know that if we're going to be successful we have to understand our kids we have to meet them where they are sometimes we're not going to get them on grade level they're not going to be on grade level this year if I ever teaching seventh grade and I have a student that's on third grade level the reality is he or she is not going to be on grade level before they leave my classroom yes I make can get him or her to fourth grade I make him even get him to fifth or sixth but they're not going to be on seventh grade or eighth grade level before they go unless they've been faking the whole time on their test or unless they're putting in extra time like after school or they're going to some kind of remediation program their B pull out to do intervention maybe but far as me the the teacher being able to get them completely where they need to be it's just not happening let's be realistic when people say teaching is on easy mode if they having to say that they're like like I said just like YouTube isn't on easy Moe teaching isn't on easy Moe I shared with you at one point that I had a a church member that told me you know you got that little easy job you just sit up there at your desk all day with those kids I said my gosh where in the world did this come from he thinks teaching is easy that teaching is on easy mode teaching is not on easy mode when you look at what all we are asked to do to deal with parents one of the key ingredients to having a successful school year is getting your parents involved getting the community involved getting the stakeholders to buy in and so we can't do that then no we've already lost the majority of the battle the past two District that I worked at places where a lot of times the parents are not involved my children may not live with Mom they live with grandma and Grandma may be tired and Grandma May can't get up and Grandma May cannot do all of the things that a parent needs to do grandma can't fit that bill and some of my students parents are incarcerated some of my students parents are on drugs and some of them are living at homes that are just not homes and so when you ask me how what why why my students aren't performing like they should and you want to tell me how teaching is easy then I want to tell you that it's not teachers are burning out every day we are being asked to do so much we are spending so much time with children who are not our own children that it is absolutely physically and mentally definitely mentally exhausting so it's teaching on easy mode teaching is not on easy mode if you know a teacher if your spouse is a teacher your friend is a teacher your daughters a teacher please give them a helping hand because in order for us to survive this we have to have a community we have to have a support system and so we say teaching is on easy mode please help us to put it on easy mode by being there to help support whether you can help support by just helping watch their class help giving them a day off on the weekend helping to help them in any way that you possibly can please help your fellow teachers if you want to give them a happy we love happies give them a happy give them that phone call send them that card let them know that they're special that they're L that they're thought about then maybe we can say teaching is on easy mod I thank you guys so much for listening please be sure to share with me if you think teaching is
