Full Transcript

Stop lecturing individual students. Stop pulling them aside and telling them what to think and how they should feel. Stop admonishing them, anything like that because what happens is it creates friction between you and them. There is resentment that builds up. Causes them to dislike you and when they dislike you, they're going to want to misbehave behind your back. They They're going to want to sabotage your classroom. It also removes any influence that you have with them. It weakens your rules and your consequences because they just don't matter to the student anymore. So instead, instead of pulling them aside and lecturing, just follow your classroom management plan as it's written. If your rules are taught well, then the student will reflect on their misbehavior of their own accord without you even in the picture and this will improve their behavior. In fact, it's the only thing that will actually change their behavior.
