he was on the guise of all we're doing welcome to a new billet Oreo from i payments so today we're gonna have a really nice thing I'm gonna talk about PHP versus now yes so I'm gonna talk about about like what is the best of PHP what can what it actually can do in modern web applications specially on between eighteen alongside the nodejs JavaScript based development environment so you're just gonna take a look or Kozelek on both of these and try to get the best of it like what you use your modern days and what actually to use for your like I don't know best practices and stuff like that and for your specific situation so whether you are trying to be a freelancer make modern applications or I don't know try to get into like a modern web applications team and stuff like that so I'm gonna get just dive right into it and see they may major differences between both of these you're gonna have like an here presentations explains everything we're gonna talk about in this particular tutorial so it just talks so let's see PHP versus no js' so first we're gonna just cover the pros and automate process and it cost between PHP node.js you not to like to see which one is better than the other one in like specific situations and which one is more efficient than the other one in that particular task and what kind of like one language do more than the other and like little notice or very quick notice like notice isn't a programming language from like some of you my ask you're telling it's a problem I'm just seeing like this because PHP strong language and a lot of people doesn't distinguish between a programming language and the development environment while notice is actually development environment in PHP is a programming language while actually PHP is like web specific targets programming language just specifically for where the web application is why no js' isn't only for web you can use for this stuff or like embedded applications and stuff like that or post platform applications so it's just gonna see what is easier for you to develop like on your particular case so just gonna go step by step with the P and no J so PHP is a server-side scripting language created specifically for the web and wildly use it for almost any website so if you are like starting just with web development nowadays just getting started you would definitely know about PHP and you will find like a plenty of video tutorials out there explaining PHP how to get started with it and honestly like PHP is very simple to get started with like just a couple of codes and you can embed and this is like where the powers of PHP comes up like embedded like the PHP scripts into the HTML file and you can create your really nice patterns with that particular feature with from PHP while there's like a downsize from PHP but we're gonna cover them in this particular so this is what is PHP now nodejs is the development environments as i've said it's not a programming language JavaScript that is a user to create or use it into the node es development environment is actually a programming language so here's JavaScript very fluent support modern using the model applications and created for improving the web apps and allowing choices rather than PHP quickly growing nowadays so if let's since we are between 18 you would definitely find a lot post a lot of video tutorials covering ideas why you should get from peach or move from PHP into no GS or whatever language you're using into node years and why no juice is so so powerful in terms of making web applications so we'll just move on and see the PHP pros and consequences and try to just give you an overview what PHP looks like for nowadays whether you're trying to I don't know get started you you try to find your mind between PHP and node.js you would like definitely get something out from this video tutorial so just tuned out so let's take calls overcome PHP pros and close and see what its gonna be like between both of these so PHP pros realize waste scripting language you know but PHP isn't a programming language it's called like a prescription language since it's very lightweight and very small and embedded into the HTML files or HTML structure so that's why it's called scripting language where you can just use the script in small mini fire files - that can do the job or do the and handle tasks very easily also it's an HTML embedded and web specific so you can't use PHP one other like web or like disks or processes and stuff like that's only for the web and that's what makes PHP very specific or very targets into the web applications and widely use it by like modern applications as well as the freelancers and developers or web developers they used specifically for PHP and why it's widely used nowadays or in like the last few years PHP helping the top list used language on the web and sequel databases if you don't know where sequel database yeah at least you have learned or have you have heard about the my sequel database so sequel databases are what they use it especially nowadays then like in the last few years since PHP hasn't has been introduced also PHP handles sequel database is very perfectly that's why it's very very like perfect for that particular job or but that particular type of databases so using PHP will give you of tons of features with single databases like my Siegel like moving on now from like PHP also has frameworks and constant manager assistance that will CMS like WordPress Drupal Joomla you probably heard about WordPress so it's wildly used and it's very very easy to get started with the just grabbing some code it is some stuff and publishing your sign in you are ready to go so that's why it's very very widely used surely for like you wanna make it very lightweight website very simple you're not laggy cobol's programming you you don't want to make that big application of stuff like I just a blog you're just gonna use WordPress PHP and this is gonna make you a long way much more easier and the port also solution so works on any web server out there whether like you're going to share the power steam a VPS or a dedicated web server what PHP works either like on all of those servers and stuff like that it just works pretty much fine with no problems nothing at all and as I've said since it's very lightweight this gonna give it like the plus one now easy to deploy one-click deployment so if you have been wondering why like there's a lot of websites you use eph build ups much because it's very very simple to deploy just creating the website very simple way and to clicks deploy to the shirt how seen in your website is like you can access it from now on that's why it's very very easy on this particular job now for the cons take a look in the car seats without David since we are in 2018 so using PHP looks a little bit awkward since there's like a lot of languages right now like not super like multipurpose languages like Python and go and ruby and stuff like that and no ideas we're gonna make it the job between 18 very perfectly and overwhelming HTML and better code so if you can like use your structure alongside the PHP scripts gonna make your code a little bit less readable then it should and just gonna make it a little bit hard to read through that code and edited and try to improve it over time so that's why using the embedded code isn't that great job on both of these so it's like the counts and the pros so using the embedded code individual of the like the PHP and better code in the HTML my looks a little bit better if it is just a little bit like couple of blind codes but if you have a lot of line codes this will be very overwhelming for you as a web developer I'm not ready for browser app so if you try to make like the side or a client web application is PHP is so bad on this particular job so just go for now GS because this is not the perfect way to do it so also another downside about PHP is it does the initialization of your application so when you create in like an MVC or a Model View controller even a PHP whenever you submit requests into your server PHP is gonna we initialize your application from the from scratch so we're just gonna every single request initialize the application which takes more system resources more server time more requests or request handling a response for your clients which makes it a little bit slow website or well a little bit slow web server no moving on to Nadia's to take a closer look on what about nodejs and why it's very early Rio boy and why a lot of people are getting or starting using node.js now J so for the bronze this all allows you to create full advanced applications gives you a lot of set of modules if you're familiar with NPM and yarn or like package managers that's why they love node is that much because it's just gonna give them the flexibility all the way to grab code although people code that's how being created by people and you don't you don't need to recreate the poke the code from scratch just use the code in your rings you go and there's a lot of modules that get me through like way much more either like a super-nice modules which is the ajax request can can do lift like lifting or handling for your application can do a lot of things for application actually so this is a very really nice thing and that's why I personally like about no genius it is the large set of modules whatever you're going to task you want to implement out there there is a modular for you into the NPM or into the run or yarn repository is already made for you a JSON based jason based databases are the MongoDB post should be a lot of other things and like node.js handles JSON very very specifically the JSON in a very perfect way since it works with Java scripts and Java scripts or everything about JSON so working with no J SMG song is the perfect thing so you can't use JSON with PHP it's a little bit awkward thing it won't looks good as it does with no ideas so know Jesus is the perfect way to use JSON so if you look like JSON API so stuff like that no yes it's just the perfect thing to used Express turbos advanced to request handling so with PHP if we try to send a request and your server receives that request you're not gonna have that much of choices to do that because just send the response with a little bit of liftings about that but for the like you know GSM power of the Express server if you know know what's the expression is a built-in server with no genius comes up with no ideas and it's very powerful to request or to gives you a lot of features to handle the requests in a very custom ways and just like richer and very custom responses of top like that which makes your application a very like a specific thinking allow you to create modern applications that's why but a lot of people use is a subset the package managers like the NPM or the node package manager or beyond the package manager by Facebook it's just very very nice manage your packages gives you a lot of things you can do on like modern web projects best for front-end applications so as we have talked about PHP and browser or client-side applications it wasn't that good but no Dias is the perfect ship choice for making client-side applications for like a browser application if you want to make a game well into the browser of your client or I don't know run some kind of heavy application or and have your process it into the browser now it is gonna be the perfect thing for that particular thing asynchronous and event based it one of the most important things for me to use no years is the asynchronous calls all alongside the event based architecture how's that you can send a judge or asynchronously like whenever your application is running doesn't really matter to refresh the page or something you can send requests how much ever you like to the server to receive response without with breaking a page without without like touching anything also the events based so it's nice it looks like non-blocking way which means it executes the code but it doesn't stop waiting for some kind of a piece of code not to finish so we can move on to the next piece or not next function or something like that it doesn't do that it just gonna read through through all the code and we give to some event handlers with that so whenever something has been finished it's just gonna call that event handler and you just gonna execute your code after the process finish which makes it very super crazy about not one of the things they like no J's how much is the event based system now for the cons this not for CPU insensitive so if we try to use node.js for very heavy CPU intensive applications this is not the best one move on into another language PHP perhaps Python but Nadia's isn't that good dependency management and modules me my seems a little bit confusing sis you gonna have unlike a large set of applications a lot of modules a lot of built-in modules lot of custom module stuff like that so it might seem a little bit overwhelming with bugs on like a couple of modules is made by the community so there will be a lot of bugs out there so this is like a downside with notice now what should I go for loss who have seen the costs between Nadia's and the PHP if you might probably now ask him well we have well you have gone through a lot of things right now but we still can't decide what to go for to make our application so let me just talk you about that well if this the question is to when your heading is still trying to figure out how and why to choose one over the other in my opinion like about that and how to choose them for wisely among them which means try to use the best one for your best situation let's say you're gonna make like a browser application or client-side application go for now yes if trying to make a very simple blog and your time is like the like the thing you wanna like conquer stuff with just go with like WordPress and stuff go with PHP PHP is gonna be the best choice for this particular thing so try to find the situation you are in and choose that ones Lee with the language or the development environment you wanna work with so first try to like use more applications like developers and want to make enjoyable apps like very enjoyable ones when trying to type code I would allow you to go with no DSS gives you more choice to work with as well as sense no no it uses JavaScript it's gonna make like easier runnin and back in one of the other things I like is JavaScript can be using those things so while JavaScript I must be used or as a front web develop or if you want to be like a full stuck with web developer javascript must exist into the front end so you need to learn or master JavaScript so since you must earn into the front and you also can work with in the backend that is like like using the node.js or the power of node.js so I'm gonna make a life women easier just learn in one language and you are paid as you go however if you wanna make it quickly develop light-weight web sites or web applications block or something like that using one of the famous conscious management systems like WordPress or Joomla or Drupal for clients and small or sell small projects online or like working like if you like to work a freelancer PHP will take the lead on this particular thing because freelancers and small applications need only small codebase and just a couple of lines and you are ready to publish your website and give it or make it line all the two people accesses especially for blogs and especially real answers a lot of people asks for small projects using PHP so learning PHP gonna make your life much easier and it's very very important also it has a lot of Model View like MVC frameworks which the model of view control famous such as level or CodeIgniter or symphony they are all very very composed through works in very heavy frameworks very advanced you can create with it whatever you like how those are just gonna make your life easier any it won't feel when you using something like a ruler ball from America something vast you won't feel what you are creating something like a PHP you clean you will feel something you're creating something more modern and more flexible than just typing scripting language like PHP so this is gonna make you the day for you and the most important thing enjoy cody's so that was actually cosplay today story just a very simple thing telling what you should go for and what you shouldn't go for what is the enjoyable thing and why no juice is better than PHP so if you try to ask my opinion my personal opinion I would definitely to tell you to go for right now and learn no Jess I've been wondering about nodejs PHP like a couple of months ago and when I try to learn no just first time I felt that I've been doing something very bad by learning PHP I'm still not telling you to do to not to go for PHP learning PHP is still very good and fits in very nice situations but for me I would go for now just because it just really good in it's just fits for the modern web application so thanks watching I really hope you enjoyed and I'll catch you all in name next it is how you
